This Goes For Gendered Insults As Well! I Don't Care How Mad You Are, Or How Much You Dislike Someone,

this goes for gendered insults as well! I don't care how mad you are, or how much you dislike someone, it's still misgendering.

if a trans woman/fem person tells you to stop calling her "dude" or "bro" because it makes her feel dysphoric, then stop using those words as "gender neutral" and respect her boundaries.

if a trans man/masc person tells you to stop calling him "girl" or "bitch" because it makes him feel dysphoric, then just stop using those words as "gender neutral" and respect his boundaries.

I don't know what trans man need to hear this but you're allowed to be angry. It doesn't make you evil. You are allowed to experience all possible emotions without apology and still be a good man.

*this is about trans men specifically, do not derail. You are free to make your own post*

If you actually take the threat of forced detransition seriously, then you should recognize "Conservative transphobes don't want to kill transmascs, they just want to detransition them" for the callous and out-of-touch statement that it is.

"Ugh, you're actually lucky they don't want to kill you, they just want to permanently cut you off from gender-affirming care, rape you, trap you in marriage and pregnancy, and force you to live the rest of your life as their property."

Wow, I feel so blessed.

alright im starting to just flat out not trust people who arent trans men/mascs that refer to trans MEN as "tboys" and/or "trans boys"

every time i see that shit its usually tied to some really shitty statement in the same exact fucking post

i might have to start collecting screenshots from now on of what im talking about to demonstrate my point later

but anyway, heres a not so friendly reminder: stop infantilizing us by calling us "boys". its trans MEN or trans GUYS or trans DUDES. you should not be calling anyone a trans boy unless you are familiar with them and they are comfortable with that. because a lot of us fucking arent.

society if everyone took two seconds to look for trans men’s contributions to art, music, literature, politics and activism, philosophy, and culture as a whole instead of assuming the fact that you don’t see us means we’re not there

women (including trans and/or queer women) have the capacity to be misogynistic towards trans men. we are being treated as if we are little girls on this app. the word "transmisogyny" is something i see a lot more than the word "transphobia" recently. while it's okay and encouraged to talk about transmisogyny, i feel like trans men are being excluded for no reason on many posts. experiences that are actually had by all/most trans people are said to be exclusive to trans women. so then we try for transandrophobia and get shut down because trans men can't be oppressed, apparently. usually, i try to educate myself and listen as much as possible, but it's been monthssssss of this on tumblr. i feel like i'm being spoon-fed lessons on my own oppression, and i can't get down from the high chair...

“transandrophobia is the belief that trans women oppress trans men—” NO IT’S THE BELIEF THAT CIS PEOPLE OPPRESS US. WE ARE OPPRESSED BY CISGENDERED PEOPLE. WE ARE TARGETED BY CIS MEN AND CIS WOMEN. LITERALLY WHAT ARE YOU NOT GETTING. WHAT’S NOT CLICKING. YOU ARE A TERF TRYING TO DIVIDE US AND YOU WILL NEVER WIN.

I think whatever you replied on that post got immediately hidden by the OP

Hey sounds about right. I’ll say it better because I think it needs to be said.

Here is what has happened: Trans women created a word to describe their experiences and then used that word to talk about the oppression they face. Trans men, who face similar but different oppression, coined a similar but different word and are using that word to talk about their experiences.

If you are someone who genuinely believes that trans women deserve to have a word and space to talk about their oppression, but trans men are “talking over” them by doing the exact same thing, it reveals your biased worldview in which the experiences of trans women deserve to be heard more than those of trans men.

The internet is infinite and making a space for one group does not take away space from another. Both groups can speak.

Trans women and trans men both deserve a space to speak on trans experiences. As do nonbinary people who consider themselves under the trans umbrella.
