Geiléis talks about Éire’s gender

I’ve mentioned this before in a post way back in the tags that I never could decide what Ireland’s gender would be. So let’s talk about that. I mean my first ever design I gave him was a girl because I just wanted him to be a girl that was my only reasoning.

But when I was going to design the lordship of Ireland, I didn’t quite like the idea of the lordship being a girl and just couldn’t imagine it. So this then made me change Éire to a boy! I went back and forth on his gender because while I imagined the lordship as a guy I couldn’t imagine the kingdom as a man.

At one point I actually made the lordship, the kingdom, and Éire(from the 1800s-present time) all different people.

This lasted from December of 2022 to February of 2024. Finally after so long, I just said fuck it and made Éire the same person from throughout the centuries. Just know he isn’t cis because that makes my life oh so much easier and I quite like the head canon of him not being cis.

The funniest thing I find is while I struggled with Éire’s gender, I never did with Northern Ireland’s. I did once make N.I a woman but I changed him to be a man as I preferred it and that was it.

Kingdom of Ireland! I had fun drawing him, especially drawing the léine.

I talked about léines the other day and It inspired me to update his look(only little changes nothing major)

Geiléis talks about Northern Ireland

I was talking about this the other day to a friend of mine but why not share some of it here?

Northern Ireland is a fun guy to write honestly, because he is different from Ireland and Britain in many ways. He wants to be known as his own person and not a reflection of what Ireland and Britain are or were. Which also plays in part of how he doesn’t want people to know that Ireland and Britain are his parents! He despises that they are his parents.

Northern Ireland just in general doesn’t take shit from people. He refused to stay with Britain in his house in 1921-1922 and lived with one of the the six counties that were now in his land.

That’s all! Now I shall continue to write my N.I headcanons.

I haven’t even posted here yet and I have a one year anniversary?? That’s cool actually!

British Hong Kong and New Zealand!

I’m making a challenge for myself to draw almost all the British colonies.

I unfortunately haven’t finished Ireland and Montserrat. So to make up for that have Hawai’i during paulet affair, who I drew yesterday before drawing those two!

Oo now that’s interesting, and honestly this has made me love the family bond you gave them as it makes sense!

Something else I must say is that I think it’s cool to see you do something with those two especially with Montserrat as I had never ever seen anyone do anything with him until I stumbled upon a one-shot of yours that had him in it.
