The Unstoppable Zhǐ Suō!

(I'm trying to decide if I should use the Mandarin terms for papyrus -- 纸莎草 zhǐ suō cǎo -- and "without [sans] -- 没有 méiyǒu -- or just nudge their names to match Chinese romanized phonetics, something like Papairu and San. The latter will certainly be easier for people to immediately recognize & associate with the boys so I'm leaning in that direction, but... we'll see!)

5 am thoughts: It's fun seeing monsters written from the UTMV as really powerful and dangerous, pretty much always in the context of romance fics, but every time I do see it, I can't help but think about Asgore and Sans, and even Undyne at her most determined, getting merc'd by a child. About how not a single human soul was taken in the war between humans and monsters, while "countless monsters" were turned to dust.

What I'm saying is the first time a Bad Sans ran into an adult human who regularly hurts people for their own benefit and/or amusement (and there are...lots of them), they'd get their shit wrecked. Nightmare and Error aren't actually monsters, but as long as they're operating within the UTMV, I'm applying UT's mythos and themes to them. Outside of natural disasters, humans are the most powerful destructive force in the (multi-)universe and everything hinges on whether we choose kindness or cruelty.

Horror could be dusted by a Karen and that's just the sad facts of the metaphysics Toby Fox laid out for us.

If anything, the scary skeleton bfs need their human lovers to protect them in a world where they're no longer going up against beings made primarily of love, hope, and compassion.

OC Week Day 2: ReiKenn

From the prompt: “Who is your OC paired with romantically? Tell us what made your OC fall for them! Or maybe what annoying habits their partner has that they could definitely live without!”

Reika and Kennyo have a slowburn romance – Kennyo is still in the midst of grieving heavily for his friends, families, and followers, and Reika has learned over the years that deep heartbreak is not the healthiest soil to plant a romantic relationship. Besides, she needs to get home so her own friends and family don’t mourn her disappearance for any longer than she can help. 1582 is just not the right time.

But Kennyo is the first truly safe person she meets in the Sengoku and her liberator from Azuchi. So while sticking with him seems like the best bet for survival, her curious and humanitarian nature also can’t help but want to untangle the crossed threads of Kennyo’s current beliefs and sense of self. 

It’s hard not to fall in love with a man so gentle, brave, and generous. At the same time, it’s painful to fall in love with a man hellbent on destroying himself.

And she’s not the pure woman that he first believes her to be, either. Reika would kill to save a life and believe it’s the right thing to do.

The two must learn to navigate their clashing convictions and question what they truly desire, while the machinations of war escalate and the clock ticks down to the wormhole’s return.

Some cute, silly lil OCs I came up with today. The first one is an idea for the ghost that haunts the training dummy in the Ruins (Mad Dummy’s shy cousin). And the second is a design/character concept I’m just starting to play around with. :3c She likes math and measuring things, and seeing things from different perspectives, as an angel/angle joke.

"Well, somebody's gotta sit around and beg for food. Guess I'll take that one for the team."

Hopefully I'll expand more on this concept in the future (I have an idea for Papyrus's design too :3c) but for now please enjoy this sketch of a cute lil monk Snas -- he is indeed modeled on Budai, the Chinese monk/Bodhisattva who is often referred to as the Fat Buddha or Laughing Buddha in the West
