I am begging people who still say “Manifest Destiny” for any reason to understand that it means, very literally and without exaggeration, “White Power”
If you ever feel unrecognised, just know that Afghan Women keep getting further dehumanised each and every day and no one talks about it because it's not popular on social media

you should support drag kings. btw. I think it's incredibly telling that nobody knows they exist at all. "oh they weren't around" they've been around since the late 1800s/early 1900s

support drag kings just as much you support drag queens. Or at least more than Chappell Roan.

For me this isn't even about empathy or sympathy (though there's value in those as well), it is just straight-up a human rights thing. Once you have decided that there is *any* category of human that can be treated as less-than-human you've said that humanity is conditional, and so are the rights that come with it. You've already lost, you've granted the fascists their point because *you agree with them* that some people don't deserve to be treated like humans.
"the magnus archives sounds cool! what are the content warnings?"
So after browsing the "transmisogyny" tag for a couple weeks and seeing the animosity towards trans men (and anybody who was AFAB in general), I decided to look into the "transandrophobia" tag that some transfeminists were decrying. Y'know, to see trans men's side of the story.
It only took a few minutes for me to see that most trans men who used that word were not doing what some were claiming they did.
They weren't remixing sexist MRA talking points or weaponizing their AGAB against trans women. They were just putting words to the specific axes of oppression they faced, and how they don't benefit from patriarchy like cis men do (society does not see them as men except for when it hurts them, like with the bathroom thing). This only becomes clearer to me the longer I browse the tag.
And this has left me confused about why some transfeminists are so angry at them. Is it because they've had bad experiences with trans men and assume all of them are like that? Are they taking posts by trans men talking about transandrophobia in bad faith due to paranoia that a world that's hostile towards us breeds? Do they just not understand? I don't get it.
As a trans woman myself, seeing all this fighting and vitriol over what seems to be misunderstandings is saddening.
i don't know if people know this but the idea that AGAB is useful in medical contexts is actually actively dangerous
one of my friends has CAIS. they were assigned female and have a prostate. they have been denied prostate exams multiple times on the basis of "being assigned female" despite insisting that they had valid concerns about symptoms that aligned with prostate cancer. guess what happened when they finally got an exam? they ended up having prostate cancer
it fortunately is now in complete remission, which is why they're comfortable with me talking about it, but you see the issue here? biology is never as simple as assigned sex, by judging the care someone needs by their proximity to maleness or femaleness any mixed or otherwise "abnormal" sex characteristics they have are completely ignored
it doesn't just affect intersex people either, you're throwing trans people under the bus as well. transitioning does change your sex characteristics, trans people should have access to medical care that is catered to their body and not to their assigned sex
Native land in native hands
today the trump administration laid off 18% of indian health service workers. they’re already understaffed. when will this assault on people of color and healthcare workers stop
For those following the Chinook Indian Nation's work toward regaining federal recognition, this is an important endorsement. I posted a while back about a petition for the state of Washington to give the now-closed Naselle Youth Camp to the Chinook. The NYC is on unceded Chinook land, and specifically the portion of land the Chinook asked to retain almost two centuries ago as part of an unfulfilled treaty with the U.S. government.
A state task force formed to determine the fate of the NYC has officially recommended the NYC be given to the Chinook Indian Nation. Not only would this put the facility into the hands of people who will make excellent use of it, but the Chinook have also stated their intention to restore the on-site wastewater treatment facility and salmon hatchery. The former would additionally be a boon to the entirety of Pacific County, which currently ships its wastewater all the way to Centralia, WA, over 100 miles away from southern portions of the county.
If the NYC is indeed given to the Chinook, this will be an important statement that can be used to pressure the U.S. government to restore their federal recognition. To find out ways you can help the Chinook in this effort, please visit ChinookJustice.org.

May 5 is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women's Day. A reminder that 84.3 percent of native women have experienced violence. 56.1 percent of native women have experienced sexual violence. And the 3rd leading cause of death for native women is murder.
And they haven't even gathered significant information on native women living in URBAN areas. It could be much higher.
Dwell on this. Wear red.
A reminder, if you're reblogging anything about Red Dress Day, to ensure you're not reblogging from terfs trying to push 2Spirit individuals out of a day that represents them too!
We stand with and remember our missing and murdered 2Spirit siblings. Terf rhetoric and ideology is COLONIZER BULLSHIT AND WE DONT RESPECT IT.
Hello reminder to all that today May 5th is Red Dress Day, or more formally known as National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S).
Today is always a harsh reminder that Canada is not the safe haven many in the world assume, and we still need to challenge racism, misogyny, genocide and generational trauma.
Many won't be able to attend events, but if you can, wear red today to commemorate all those who lost their lives and their futures in our broken system. Wear red today to show your solidarity to Indigenous people who continue to fight for equal treatment, reparations and visibility🌹
Annie: There are legends of people born with the gift of making music so true, it can pierce the veil between life and death; conjuring spirits from the past...and the future. In ancient Ireland, they were called Filí. In Choctaw land, they called them Fire Keepers. And in West Africa, they were called Griots. This gift can bring healing to their communities. But it also...attracts evil....
