This is for all the parent’s on tumblr, who think it’s okay to control your children’s life. And by controlling your children’s life I mean going through their messages, and emails, and maybe even tumblr page, and getting mad at them for it. That, in my personal opinion, IS NOT OKAY. EVER. sure go through their video games, if you don’t like what you see stop them from playing it awesome. Go through what they record on tv. Okay that makes sense. Do not under any circumstances GO THROUGH THEIR PRIVATE STUFF.That is not okay at all. Want to know why? Because your child has their own right to do whatever they want with the privacy they have. And not only is invading their space bad, for both you and them, but they will trust you less for going through their crap. It’s called “trusting your child’ I know that is a hard concept for some of you parents but your children will love you forever for being able to trust them. Now before you say “well how do you know that you aren’t a parent” I will tell you why. My mother and father (not god) were open with me. About everything. About sex, about drugs, about life problems, my period, hormonal changes, alcohol whatever it was you name it. My parent’s allowed me to ask anything I wanted about them. And in exchange I told my parents….

The day I started having sex,

The fact that recently I haven’t made good decisions and I might be pregnant.(which my mom then proceeded to tell me my options if I am)

When I discovered I’m Bi.

When I decided to experiment with alcohol and tobacco.

When I was suicidal.

Where I was when I was hanging out with friends

Who I was with while hanging out.

The passwords to literally everything I own because I trust my parents enough not to go through my shit.

It is not your job as a parent to be the “alpha dog” and invade your child’s privacy. It is not your job to be your child’s best friend. It is not your job to make your house a prison and your children love going to school just to get away from you. It is your job to be open with your child so in turn they will be open with you. That’s it. It is your job to raise your children right and if you are reading this right now and thinking “my child would never do that with me” then you clearly messed up somewhere. Raise your children right, not to be afraid of authority but respect it.

Okay odd. Unrelated. Completely irrelavent note. But I still thought it was pretty cool. You know how literally everyone else in the fandom imagines Mare as this super non-family friendly playboy character? I think i might have found an explanation. Not only is Mare commonly written as a siren, but in German, the word for Nightmare; "Albtraum" is also the word for incubus. Coincidence? Most likely. This fandom is just horny.

Nope, can’t think of a single reason most people think of him as a seductive siren character, nope, not one single reason. It’s definitely a reach. I mean, he only ties people to chairs and serenades them and looks like that. Really, I can’t understand it at all haha

On September 20th, 2018, there will be a Ten-Year Merlinian Meet-Up at the Chateau de Pierrefonds, the castle Merlin was filmed at. This is in honor of the ten-year anniversary to when the first episode, The Dragon’s Call, was aired.

The plan is to get as many Merlinians as possible to come to the event to celebrate and relive all the memories from the show. They would also like to invite all the main cast members and directors/producers!

(Please keep in mind that if you were to plan on attending, you would have to pay for your own airline tickets and lodgings and food etc.)

This was announced at least 3 years before the event to give you all time to secure lodgings, raise money, and plan everything else.

Dual Blades - focuses on both phil and techno and their friendship, probably one of my favorite things i’ve ever read

starlit dragons - same author as dual blades, phil-centric, i’ve read this like five times and cried every time

Dandelion Seeds - redza my beloved, phil-centric, egg possession arc

a verb in perfect view - credit to the zablr discord for finding this one, post green festival, techno-centric but there’s a bunch of good phil moments

To Move Forward - boreal group, post-doomsday, there’s a chapter from each of their perspectives and the phil chapter is really good

to you I gift the end of things - written by kai an absolute legend, a whole ass series about techno and phil, zablr discord i owe you my life

Father’s Lament - focuses on phil and ghostbur, very sad, tommy’s mentioned in like one paragraph

lead me to death, to belonging - also phil and wilbur, very cool fic where phil’s chat is a murder of crows

Interlude I: “Promises to Keep” - takes place during antarctic empire, techno and phil centric, a lot of fluff to balance out the angst in all these other fics

Colder - dream smp with slight sbi au, mainly just phil grieving over wilbur, another really sad one

No Longer Deathless - less lore heavy than the other fics, phil-centric, takes place in dream smp but doesn’t really have to do with the plot it’s just phil angst
