Meanwhile, at Castrum Lacus Litore...
honestly I'll use tumblr if I have to to keep up with xiv fandom but also I don't want to be back here so lol. lmao even.
This series started as a way to get me comfortable illustrating different skin tones & to build up palettes for all the characters. But I’m finding myself really digging doing the quick portrait sketches.
battle couples has gotta be one of my favorite tropes though. The “you got me?” “Yeah, I got you.” The kiss for good luck. Fighting alongside each other for so long they know every strength and weakness. The dichotomy of being fucking terrifying to their enemies, but so soft with each other. When one is in danger and the other goes feral, protects them at any cost. When everything is over and done, it’s all “let me see where you’re hurt,” and washing off the dirt and blood.
I suggest that we start using the term ‘creatives’ instead of ‘content creators’ for authors/artists/gifmakers/podficcers for a few reasons, and chief among them are these;
we can’t always be our most productive, but there’s a terrible trend of fandom folks feeling bad if they don’t have something new to post every few weeks
you’re still a creative person even if you aren’t creating something at a given time, for whatever reason
and something it’s taken me far too long to learn myself: making things is not the rent you pay to be part of a community
Do I actually want to write this fanfic or do I just want to wallow in the delicious daydream like a pig in the mud?
a helpful flow chart for all aspiring game devs out there
It’s unpopular opinion monday! :D
(please don’t come for me Cullenites. I like the guy, don’t take this too seriously, I just have a soft spot for the nasty angry goblin man. Bioware did him dirty! :c)
