I'm probably gonna make 2 posts abt this book bcs I love it sm. this first one won't focus on the romance and more of like- the surroundings, specially Hazel's favorite book, AIA. I read the book at school so yeah that embarassed me bcs I was crying when the teacher came in.
Before I dive into AIA, I want to really talk about the surroundings of the book, the other people yk, aside from Augustus and Hazel. The book, aside from the romance, shows how people respond to other people with cancer, I mean, how they manage it. We see it with Hazel's mother and father, with Augustus' family as well as Monica(Isaac's ex). They all responded differently to their loved one's having cancer, and they treat it differently too. But I won't focus on that, I want to focus on how it affects them, and apply it to real life situations. The book doesn't really hide the fact that everyone around them feels bad for them, and that their parents are sad about it. And it's a good detail because the book is a romance book, but it deals so much with the "losing someone" concept. I love how you feel butterflies in your stomach yet heartwrecking pain at the same time. because the sadness in it, the way Hazel just accepted her fate, the way Augustus accepted his, and Isaac too. They never had hope from the start but their families and the people around them did. It's easy to have hope when you're not the one struggling.
But thats the thing. Hazel accepted her fate easily. but Augustus? She could not.
In Augustus' story, Hazel is part of the other people. She's his collateral damage. Hazel feared being the time bomb for Augustus but it turns out Augustus was the real one.
Its devastating to read the parts where Augustus was slowly succumbing to his cancer. Because the chapters were suddenly so short, Every time I flipped the book I got scared bcs it chapter got faster and faster. shorter and shorter. Then the devastating "Augustus Waters died"
Everyone was affected by Augustus' conditiion, everyone was collateral damage, their emotions were side effects. MAN I CAN'T DO THIS RN IM CRYING ILL POST AGAIN SOME OTHER DAY
I'm gonna start rating anime i watch here. Just like I did with high card, next up is starmyu
LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!
Today, I'll do something I never thought I'd do, rate and analyze the 100.
To begin, the show had a very clear message in the first few episodes; figure out if humanity can survive on earth, and teenage problems( if u consider being obsessive with power a teenage problem. )
and then the plot comes in. The real plot. a lot of secrets have been hidden, a lot of emotions are kept inside and the sad part in all of this even if they are hiding their emotions, the way they do their jobs are so personal which ends in fucking EVERYTHING up. And then you find that this place is connected to another place that has this thing made by this girl that was supposed to save the world because the girl made this weird ai that destroyed the world. yay. AND THAT'S JUST TILL AT LEAST SEASON 4.
This show is just stressful as hell in terms of plot. Like what more the characters right? YEAH THE CHARACTERS ARE STRESSFUL TOO. IDK WHY BUT WHY IS GENOCIDE ALWAYS THE BEST OPTION FOR THEM, but then again to be fair, they're teenagers. THEN YOU HAVE LIKE PERSONAL PROBLEMS ABOVE THE SOCIETAL ISSUES (I'm pointing at u, Abigail Griffin) and we have characters who do their job properly, (hi monty)
OH AND A LOT OF PEOPLE DIE. FRIENDS DIE, ENEMIES DIE, again, Genocide so yeah. and the worst part is some of the deaths don't even lead to anything😭😭
THEN AFTER THOSE PARTS WE'RE SUDDENLY NOT A SCI-FI SHOW ANYMORE, IT'S FANTASY (with science but still)
Imagine this, going to a new place where there are new characters, and the current main characters want to be better now bcs stuff happened, now you'd think new plot, right? NO. IT'S. ALL. CONNECTED. Yes, all connected, and it's so cool how it is BUT MAN
7 seasons 100 episodes🤭🤭
I'm happy tho, I loved it, a must watch❤️
OH AND IT'S LIKE LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY(kinda)
men

SPOILERS FOR HIGH CARD.
THAT WAS VERY EMOTIONAL FOR MEOH GOSH
ig i was right with flann dying, although the end sequence wants to imply that it's not confirmed so that's one thing, and it kinda seems to me that there will be a season3 based on the fact that everything is technically in shambles still and i read from somewhere that a lot of the cards haven't been found yet although i wouldn't trust my judgement. I said something like "i don't want flann to die bcs chris' plot is all about saving his sister s why should finn kill his brother" i meant that in a sense that if finn doesn'tt rlly care that he has to kill his brother and so the way the anime went with the shooting was great for me.
i especially love the scene where bernard said "Tilt- no, Flann Oldman." it's a really good scene. And Flann and Burst's tombstone:(( its a shame that they died without truly resolving their problems "together as family" is what's written( ithink ) I rlly think flann is dead bcs of this, because he's already with Burst and that really looks like a good enough ending for me. But as to reasons why he's probably alive well,
first is bcs its "uncomfirmed" that he died, bernard pointed that out. second is probably because he walked with Lala Valdenklein in the end, and we all know that Lala isn't exactly dead he just doesn't have a physical body all the time but he's still there.
I also genuinely hope that they let Finn hold on to San Galgano, at least for a while. It's also \crazy how much Flann really loved Finn, Finn wanted a card and Flann gave him a real one, although it was the reason for their separation the sentiment was good nonetheless
what saddens me though is what the royal family did, blaming it on the klondikes again. I get why they would do that but to claim that Ban Klondike died there is crazy to me because that is so terrible. It's hiding the fact that he died somewhere they're trying to hide.
Overall this show was awesome and cool, there were a few scenes that made me want to see more bcs they felt lacking but the main plot was incredible. im srsly hoping for season 3
