I had a dream where I was playing a real live video-esque game. it was not the first dream of its kind that I've experienced, but it was the first one where I was paired with a person who was responsible for keeping me alive and for whom I had the responsibility to keep alive. Whoever my partner was, I may not have known your name or caught a glimpse of what you looked like, but no one could ask for a more reliable, trustworthy and supportive in-game partner. At the start I may have thought you had abandoned me, leaving me to safeguard our relic on my own, but in the end you proved to be the better tactician who taught me on the fly how to really play the game. From saving my arse from getting killed by OP players, not to mention your crazy, but brilliant driving skills (thank the stars you took over from me. I was surprised I didn't make us crash!), you pretty much carried me until the next portal which was when I woke up. It might've just been a dream (you could just be a figment of my imagination) but thank you nonetheless for taking a stranger under your wings. If old folklore was to be believed, you were the keeper of my abilities to return to the waking plane last night.
Life
If you know, you know!
“I will love you if I never see you again, and I will love you if I see you every Tuesday.”
— Lemony Snicket; The Beatrice Letters
“you will never be too much for someone who can’t get enough of you”
— Unknown
And ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.
Khalil Gibran
The wind cried out to my soul.
As I basked in the sea of clouds,
The desire of my heart,
Called out of its shroud.
For once I felt unencumbered.
It was almost like you
Were there with me.
For that one moment - ephemeral
Time stood still.
My entire body full of warmth.
Weightless in standing,
Like floating in the exosphere.
But time and circumstance are cruel beings,
Making life the hell we needed.
And as the gulls shattered my brief paradise,
The pit of fact settles back:
That we may never meet-
...I hope we meet.

When you get jealous of how good someone else's Western Blot or binding assay results came out... Then there's you, with messed up bands and curves that tell you your protein sucks.

“I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
— F. Scott Fitzgerald
