Private Tutor chapter 8 by @ourdramaqueen
I don't know where to start. I think last time I was waiting for a release this way, I was a teenager and it was my favourite manga chapter from Japan. OK, I am not so old now but trust me, a few years have passed!
I was shivering with anticipation for this chapter and as always it exceeded our expectations!
I don't think wyler/weyler shippers can live without this fic anymore.
I can't, for sure.
It sneaked into our hearts and it won't leave easily.
Above, you can see the cover I created for the story, under OurDramaQueen's supervision.
The concept behind is simple: Wednesday Addams chose the sweet and bright barista Tyler Galpin to be her special tutor, the only one who could take her hand and bring her into the empire of senses.
ᴡᴇᴅɴᴇꜱᴅᴀʏ | ᴛʏʟᴇʀ ɢᴀʟᴘɪɴ + 1.07
Tyler Galpin being tortured by Wednesday after he escaped.
Me, a tired bird: I just want you to focus for five minutes on perfecting this first chapter. I want it to be good enough for publishing.
My Brain: Tyler paints his nails black to match Wednesday. He got the idea from seeing Gómez paint his red to match Morticia.
Me, in tears: PLEASE STOP?!?!!
Honestly, I'm actually glad there won't be romance in season 2. I want the series full and undivided attention on setting up the dynamic between outcasts and the world around them.
I want them to dive in deeper into the Hypocrisy of only teaching "the good outcasts", and how/if they are willing to sacrifice their own to save themselves from racism and bigotry.
I want to see the consequences of everyone's actions take a front seat next season. From parental backlash after the Laurel incident, to the fact that there's an entire race of outcasts who were basically born to be enslaved. Heck, I want to see consequences for Wednesday being healed by a ghost, that must've messed up her biology somehow, right?
1. Maybe I'm too much of a slow-burn/angst fan, but that sounds ideal to me. I want them to take time rebuilding their relationship.
2. The Xavier thing is not gonna happen most likely. Netflix pretty much confirmed he was fired, and won't be returning for season 2.
3. I would not be surprised if that were the case. Especially with how much Tim Burton loves Gothic romance.
So sorry for the rambling lol
I've seen people freaking out about there being no romance in season 2, but consider this:
1. It took a lot for Wednesday to trust Tyler, and it will take way more for her to trust him again now, probably another whole season or more.
2. Some people have been pushing a love triangle with them and Xavier, so a romance plot would mean she runs into Xavier’s arms, and most of us don't want that.
3. Misdirection is a huge thing in the age of plot twists and spoilers. Jenna has said "no romance" so many times now that it's getting suspicious. The two points above are most likely true, but there is always the possibility that there is a romance plot and they're lying to us so we don't see it coming.*
*see: everything that was done to keep Tom Holland from telling us about End Game.
WEDNESDAY & TYLER + TROPES: coffee shop au (3/?)
Almost forgot this little gem:
Managing to catch the eye of a bad bitch & golden retriever in the same day? Absolute Bi culture 😔🤌
I would like to have a thousand words with the WEDNESDAY writers
Source: Wednesday vs Bianca fencing match (Wednesday's child is full of woe unused script)
Someone smarter than me please explain what the writers actually wanted to convey in the ending scene of WEDNESDAY.
Cause my dumb bird-brain immediately jumped to:
"Tyler recognized her scent despite the chemicals he's on, and tried to break out to follow behind "
It kills me that Ajax and Wednesday don't get enough love as a BROTP!
Like, the untapped potential these two have? Godly.
I can imagine Enid and Tyler are out on their ninth sparring match for the day, leaving their significant others waiting by the edge of the woods with extra clothing.
Ajax is stoned out his beautiful mind - cause being next to Wednesday is scary - and he just asks her about whatever she's investigating now.
She goes off about the gory details and her personal conspiracy theories regarding "what's really going on", and he:
A: Just hears her out and nods along, which she appreciates, cuz it's nice to have someone just shut up and listen.
B: Says something so enlightened and absolutely fucking BASED, that has her submitting an application to change roommates.
Wait, how long was Wednesday as Nevermore exactly?
She went there in the middle of the term, then had an early vacation. Wiki says her birthday is on October 13 (I call bullshit, she has Scorpio behavior)
But how long did the shenanigans after her birthday last? Was it a few days? Weeks? Did it last till November?
I think there was snow at the end of episode 8.
