Bots on Tumblr are a nuisance to the roughly 135 million users that call this hellsite home, typically posting sexually explicit content in hopes of luring a poor soul into their tricky clutches.

We aim to minimize the amount of time these bots posts are up in our community, so here's what you can do to help us mods out:

Reporting, Protecting, & Taking Down:

Report It! Locate the three dots in the top right corner of the post, open it, and select 'report to moderators'. This overrides all of our other notifications from the community, highlighting the reported post so we can find it quicker. Note: You can also report their profile/post to Tumblr.

Make a border post! We want to minimize how many people are exposed to this bot post, as they are typically sexual. This kind of content can be especially triggering to some, or harmful to under aged members. Guide: "Bot Below!" {10 or so spaces} "Take Care!"

Block! These bots tend to mass post across several communities, so block their user! This means that now that you've seen them once, it won't happen again while browsing your other communities. Note: They typically get banned very quickly, and new bots appear. It's a game of whack-a-mole, and it never ends, so more of them will pop up.
