Johnny was buying a gift for his friend when he saw you

You two were in the store at the same time picking stuff from the same aisle

He saw that your eyes settled on a plushie that you wanted to get but before you can decide, he grabbed it

Laughing in the inside like the little shit he is, you didn't mind it

He wanted to start any conversation even though he already picked the plushie

You started giving him ideas by pointing at different things but he's not paying attention

He's staring at you, without hiding the fact that he is doing so

Because he is talkative, you two stand there in the store for good thirty minutes talking even though you're strangers

Managed to get your phone at the end of the conversation

As you two became friends, johnny would always call you to hang out, and you couldn't refuse

He would quickly grow a liking for you and starts to see you as a potential lover

Even if he doesn't necessarily 'love' you

But he slowly falls in love, and you become the most important person in his life

So he won't confess immediately, he'll drop hints, make you flustered on purpose and flirt with you more

One day, he decided that he needs to actually confess because you're dumb lol and he's afraid someone is going to steal you

When you guys start dating, he actually stops being too playful because you two are not friends anymore

He pretends to be mature, but as soon as you enter the room, he collapses internally

Pairing: johnny x fem!reader

Genre: college students, the reader is in a toxic relationship.

Word count: 2400+

Warnings: mention of sex, clubbing, toxic relationship and gambling.

A/n: i wrote this while sleepy, this is so bad 😭

Glancing across the club at his friends, johnny just attended a party his friend threw three hours ago and the person he's waiting to arrive isn't here yet. He's chatting with people as he's roaming around, but the thought of her occupied his mind, so he was just blabbing with his friends while staring at the door.

You entered the club, confidently walking because why not, but you weren't alone, your boyfriend was walking next to you with your hand tangled in his. You didn't intend to come, but your boyfriend insisted because he was one of johnny's close friends.

Speaking of johnny, he was watching you ever since you stepped inside his house, seeing you there just made a satisfied smile forme on his lips. He bet that you will come and you did.

Now, Johnny doesn't know why he was nervous about you not coming. It was a strange attraction he had towards you and he doesn't understand why. And what made it worse is you're his best friend's girlfriend.

He heads to the counter and grabs two red cups of beer, then he approaches you two. "Hey man, how you doin'?" Your boyfriend takes the drink from him. "I'm good." Your boyfriend says.

"I'm happy you brought y/n."

"Hey." you trailed, smiling a little. "You look good." He grins at you after taking a quick glance at your outfit. Of course you looked good, you didn't wear that mini bodycon blue dress and curled your hair for nothing, you always want to look pretty everywhere. Smiling at his compliment. You mutter a small 'thanks' then you realize your outfit matched with him more than your own boyfriend.

He takes your boyfriend from you and leaves, you curse under your breath since they're the only two you know in this party. You notice that the two are now sitting in a table. You realize that your boyfriend is now playing against his close friend. Not just any game, they're gambling.

You didn't like it when your boyfriend took part in these games, because he bets big, so therefore he tends to lose.. really big. And what made it even worse is that he's playing against johnny, the only person in that friends group that never lost, you really don't know if he's really clever or wins out of luck.

"Ugh, not this again.." you mutter to yourself as you drink your beer. You wanted to stand there and watch them playing because you don't have anybody to chat with. You know why you don't want to be there and you hate to admit it. It's really embarrassing to be his girlfriend.. you thought. Yeah, it really doesn't feel okay being the girlfriend of a loser.

You let out a big sigh as you're watching the game unfold, your boyfriend searches for you and finally finds your figure. He flashes a tense smile before returning his gaze to the cards in his hand. But you don't return the smile, you're scowling at him with crossed arms instead.

"Your boyfriend looks stressed." Mark appears out of nowhere so that startled you a bit. You bring your gaze back at him but johnny catches your attention, he winks at you with a smirk and you find yourself smiling."well, we all know the outcome."

He turns his head. "Yeah, your boyfriend bet really big this time." You roll your eyes at his stupidity. "I know, he always does this.." you sigh.

"But it's different this time, what he bet is something big, i don't know how he even took that decision." You look at mark and he looks serious, what did that loser do? You thought. You began thinking of what that big bet could be, his car? No, he loves his car more than me. you're thinking of any big materialistic thing that he could give up in this stupid game. But he isn't really rich to bet on something very big.

You look at your boyfriend and he looks so stressed, Johnny's expression was unreadable and you wondered why, but you noticed that he glared at your boyfriend from time to time, now you want to know what is wrong with them. Your boyfriend never took a wise decision in his life, when you two started dating, he was financially stable due to his parents, but instead of saving the money his parents gave him at the beginning of the semester to bail him out since he lost his part time job, he went and blew it on stupid stuff.

And that stupid stuff is mostly the gambling games he plays. He used to be humble and worked hard to support himself when his family weren't there for him, but as soon as he got a bunch of money in his hands, he became so cocky. Unlike johnny, he was way more rich than him, yet johnny was humble and kind, and that made you wonder how the two are friends.

"Why are you even dating him?" Mark asks what you've been thinking about lately, you can't think of a good reason. And you remember what you though of earlier before arriving at the party. "I'm going to break up with him after this party." He looks at you and smiles. "You will." He says, his voice dripping with confidence.

"Now let us take a closer look at that loser." He says, linking his arm with yours as you two approach them. Johnny notices and sends a flying kiss, you can't help but blush a little. Then you assert your attention to the game, your soon-to-be-ex boyfriend looks at the little chips left and lets out a big sigh.

"That's good.." mark mutters under his breath and you hear him. You low key feel bad for your boyfriend. You finish your drink as you keep your attention on them. "Get her another, mark." Johnny points at you and mark obeys. Dashing to the counter to get you a drink. You continue to watch the stupid game as you would call it.

"Here." Mark stretches out his arm and hands you another cup of beer, you mutter a little thank you then bring your attention to the boys. Johnny keeps sending grins and kisses at you and you wonder if your boyfriend noticed his behaviour. "Oh my, he's flirting." He says as he giggles and you can't help but giggle too. We kind of ignore them and chat together, mark keeps talking and you can't stop glancing at them while pretending to hear what he's saying. Johnny is sprawled in his chair, legs spread wide, and one of his arms slung over the back of an empty chair.

While your soon-to-be-ex boyfriend was sweating too much as he is hunched over his cards, you can feel the stress from a meter away. Mark notices how invested you are so he stops talking and watches with you. Johnny signals to you to come and sit, you're hesitant but you take slow steps to them.

"Come here," he pauses. "Sit by me." He commands and you shiver a little, the other isn't paying attention and is trying to do anything to prevent him from losing, which is already guaranteed.

He points at the empty chair next to him. You go and sit next to him, ignoring your boyfriend and the snickers from people around. You notice how incredible johnny smells and you can't help but sniff the air, you were close to him so you can smell his scent well. You stare at your boyfriend who had misery written all over his face, you don't know how to feel about this game upon seeing his expression.

"Forget about him.."

"..and focus on me, only." Johnny's hand touches your thigh, his soft hand gripped it a little before caressing your skin under the table, a light shade of pink crept on your cheeks and you swallow hard as soon as he removed his hand, you look around and wonder if anybody saw that, some people at the party were minding their business while some did not really notice as they were laughed at how your boyfriend was failing, but mark lee did, and he let you acknowledge that by winking at you playfully.

You assume your boyfriend did hear that because johnny's voice was clear, but he didn't pay attention, he kept playing and putting more effort as if his life depended on it. Johnny shuffles his cards like a pro as he smirks at your boyfriend. The other getting more and more angry, his body language portrayed his frustration. As if all he was trying to build fell over, he got up in an annoyed manner. "That's it, I'm done."

Johnny looks at him from his feet to his face. "Expected." He says then he looks at you. Your boyfriend walks away without even glancing at you.

"Hey! Wait!" You call for him but he ignores you and walks outside, you were about to follow him but a hand grabbed your shoulder lightly. You turn around to see johnny's tall figure. The lights falling on him, showing his sexy broad shoulder and his kinda long hair. His sexy scent hits your nostrills again. "Don't follow him." You furrow your eyebrows at him. And look back at your boyfriend, who already left.

"Huh?"

"Your boyfriend's bet was you." He spoke with honesty. You look at him and search for a hint of joking but he was seriousl. You feel a sinking feeling in your stomach. You already know your boyfriend is an asshole, but not to this level. That's why he left without opening his wallet to give money, his bet was you, not money. So that's what mark was trying to tell me earlier, you thought. Your body tenses up as you look away, you can't look at johnny, you can't let him see the tears that are forming in your eyes.

"Hey.." his voice is softer than how it was when he was playing, he reaches and puts his hand on your hand. "It's not as bad as you think." You don't know how to feel upon hearing his words, you're waiting for him to say if you're up for sex or something like that, since that asshole treated you as an object and practically 'sold' you to his friend.

You look at him and wipe your tears since you think you're starting to look like a fool. You pull your dress down to cover you more. "If you want something from me, I'll give it to you."

He raises his eyebrows and you can't tell how he feels about your statement. "You got it wrong, y/n, I'm not the one to do that." The tone of his voice indicated that he was disappointed at you for thinking of him like that. But he did touch my thigh earlier. You thought to yourself as he didn't show any sign of being interested in having sex with you.

"Then what do you want? I'll do-"

"Y/n, i saved you from this relationship, i knew he's not good for you and you deserved someone better." He takes a deep breath before continuing. "So i expected him to bet big just like he always does, i thought he will bet on money.." you listen to him carefully and analyze what he said.

"As soon as he told me that he will give you to me i was glad, i wanted you to leave this relationship because i was honestly so tired of watching you dealing with his toxic ass." You nod. Remembering how you used to ignore the red flags he had because you just didn't want to be alone, you thought it will work out but you were wrong.

He holds your hand with both hands. "So i told him to leave you alone completely if he loses, and he did." Some people were watching you two but you were glad that the music is kinda loud so they can't hear you two. "I knew he wouldn't let you break up with him, that's how terrible he is, so i took the opportunity when he told me about it."

"Now you're free, you don't owe me anything." He gives you a reassuring smile, now you're feeling bad because of what you accused johnny of in your head, he really did save you from this relationship since you knos how that asshole did treat you and how he wouldn't let you leave him.

You find tears rolling down your cheeks but before you wipe it, he reaches and wipes it himself. "Oh come on, you know he doesn't deserve you crying over his ass." You giggle at his words.

"Thank you, johnny." You open your arms and reach out to hug him, he smiles and returns the hug as well, you're glad you're wearing heels so you can hug him well without any troubles. You break the hug andhe kisses your forehead.

"Hey you two, don't you think you're being too sentimental? We're literally in a party." Mark announces his appearance and crosses his arms over his chest. "Forget about what happened, y/n, i want to see your hot ass on the dance floor." Mark said as he wiggled his eyebrows at you, you're known to be a hot mess on the floor. A grin finds its way to your lips as you remember how you used to dance like there's no tomorrow in the previous parties. "That asshole kept you from doing that because he knew how hot you are." Mark reminds you.

"I want you to party hard." Johnny grins at you, building up confidence in you. That's what you needed the most after what happened. "But a good man lets you unleash your sexy self freely." Mark adds, winking at you as he drinks his beer.

Johnny tells his friend who happened to stand near to tell the dj to play one of your favourite songs that you love dancing to. Him and mark stand next to the counter, watching you walk confidently to the dance floor, you find more attention gathered on you from most people. Johnny's eyes are glued to you, you looked mesmerizing to him, feeling so good to see you enjoying being yourself and dancing so well after what happened. "She's so hot." Mark mumbles.

"Shut up, only i can call her hot."
