stage/fright 29/03 matinee thoughts!!!
• my GOD have they ramped up the ridiculousness from the previews!!!! i was having an absolute ball
• hostage was ross noble (row snowball) who acted the part beautifully - he knew exactly when to play up the comedy and when to let r&s shine
personal kidnappers highlights include:
- ross noble seemingly assuming he had to make up improv answers to all of lady linda’s questions and getting halfway through a sentence each time before steve showed him the prompts
- reece breaking so bad he got two separate rounds of applause each time he turned around to compose himself
- reece flubbing “lady linda lockwood” presumably from all the laughing, which then made him laugh harder
- steve saying “stick of celer-eye” and it breaking reece so hard he just gave up and faced the audience with his head in his hands
- reece answering the phone and saying “hello mr spengler! no i’m not laughing” while visibly laughing
- ross noble berating len for calling “have i got news for you” “mock the week” for WAY longer than they obviously planned, ending with him whacking len with the celery
- ross noble going up the staircase and saying “i only agreed to do this because i thought mark gatiss (gah-tiss) was in it”, followed by a big laugh, followed by reece and steve in unison going “gay-tiss!”
• reece was on an absolute mad one as hugo at the beginning of act two ! it seemed like he was surprising himself with how big he was going with the physical comedy
• steve had a few nice moments of playing up to the audience which he didn’t do last time!
overall had a lovely time and NEED to see it again before next saturday
