I was running around today, but I’ll be here tomorrow to write properly. Send in some memes or scream about our muses in messages.
He'd been watching her. For days, he'd had eyes on Aspen, lurking in the shadows at the edge of her world. Akira felt like he was losing his mind without seeing her, without even speaking to her. She hadn't reached out. And it was driving him mad. He was supposed to be with the rest of the band in the studio, but all he'd been able to think about lately was getting the taste of her on his tongue again. The studio could wait. It wasn't like the band was going to do anything without him anyway. He was their magic. They'd never have been elevated to the level they were without him.
A level that he should have been enjoying himself. He should have been reveling in the adoration that was only growing after the world had finally seen them perform live. He wanted to be reveling in it. But he couldn't. Instead, he was watching Aspen. He was watching her go about her days. He was watching her not try to call or text him, and when he saw her step out of her front door clearly dressed for a night out, he decided that he'd had more than enough. She couldn't keep just acting like he wasn't there.
Trailing someone wasn't hard. He'd been hunting for centuries. Getting past the door was even easier. Moving through the crowd too quickly to be noticed, he'd tucked himself into a booth in the corner. For once, he didn't want to be the center of attention. He planned on waiting a little while to see what her goal here was, though his entire body had gone tense and ready to strike when he saw some pathetic little man zero in on his lamb. Shadows abandoned, he appeared behind the blonde, and he didn't even have to threaten the fool who thought he could have a piece of what Akira had already claimed. Just the glare was enough. Although it shifted to a smirk when she proclaimed that she was spoken for. It remained as such when she finally turned to look at him.
"Don't be silly. Sometimes I project images of the horrible death I'm planning for them into their minds." He replied, all too pleased with himself. Just as quickly though, his smirk dropped. He stepped forward to crowd her without a second thought. Respecting personal space had never been his strong suit, least of all with Aspen. "What are you doing here? This isn't your kind of club." They were all...human. What could she possibly be pursuing here when she'd had tastes of other worlds?

it wasn't often that aspen dared venture out to a nightclub or other such place. she felt like she was crawling out of her skin and needed to do something. especially since it had been a good month or so since she had seen or heard from akira. she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. he still confused her endlessly in more than one way. she never imagined that they would become so tangled up in one another after that one night.
she had opted to have some liquid courage before going on the dance floor. after a few dances, she wanted to catch her breath. though she never imagined that some random guy would approach her. she had seen his friends all watching from their booth. it was clear they were plastered and she was frozen. it had been what felt like an eternity since someone had expressed any sort of interest.
before she was able to even utter a single word, she felt a presence behind her. her heart seemed to kick start as she noticed the guy's expression change. the blonde inhaled sharply," sorry, i'm..spoken for." her head turned to see that she was right in her assumption," do you just glare? to get your way?"

Guilt burned in the back of his throat as she apologized. She thought that she'd hurt him and apologized for it, but he was the one who'd done something wrong. He was lying to her. That never usually bothered him. He didn't put himself in a position when it would. Asphodel didn't interact with their fans. He wasn't out there talking to anyone as Skotos, and he didn't talk to fans as Zack either. The beauty of their anonymity was the ability to keep to himself, to not be gawked at and to simply be able to exist when he was up in the world above.
But then came Maggie. She was so open with him. She shone so brightly and was unafraid to be vulnerable and trust a stranger. Maggie was just so...good. And he was lying to her. About something that she loved. And she was apologizing to him? She thought she was in the wrong? She was giving him the option to leave their little bubble? "No, you- Maggie-" he moved closer to her again and captured her lovely face in his hands, the face that had enchanted him when he'd been on stage and watched her through his mask. As he looked down at her, he was tempted to just tell her. If he was the only one who'd be affected, he knew that he would. He was so tempted to show her every piece of him. Zack, Skotos, Zagreus- he wanted her to know all of them in that moment, but his choices could affect the rest of the band. He couldn't do that to them.
A part of him wished she would just figure it out.
"You didn't hurt me. Don't apologize. You- Maggie, you did nothing wrong." He shook his head and dropped one hand to her waist to guide her nearer to him again. "We're not going anywhere." This was the closest he'd been able to get to her answer to his question in such a short amount of time. He wanted to get closer though. Maybe he could. "What's your life like? I want to know everything about you."
It was unheard of for her to seek out someone else to try to work with them. She didn't need anyone else, and she certainly didn't need the risk of another person around who'd probably just fuck everything up. Mona had more than enough power on her own to do whatever she wanted anyway. Well...she usually had more than enough power. It was the first time she'd ever run into a road block like this, the first time she'd been denied by the ironclad gates themselves. Being told no? Being told that she wasn't strong enough to do what she'd set out to- it was maddening for the witch. At first, it had just been simple necromancy. She could usually do that in her sleep. Sure, it was forbidden among her kind, but so was working with demons, and when had either of those things ever stopped her? It was why she was stronger than the rest of them. Better than them.
And now, it was personal. This wasn't about being paid to bring someone back anymore. Her client had long since been forgotten. Now she was only focused on getting the gates open and siphoning as much as she could from Hell so nothing could ever stop her again. She hadn't swallowed her pride to seek a partner. No, that was too bloated to fit down her throat. She'd chewed it back though, enough to go after the son of Sparda himself. She wasn't going to work with someone weak, after all, and if anyone would be of help to her, Vergil fit the bill.
"Yeah, I certainly hope so." Mona huffed. "I haven't exactly been subtle." On the contrary, she'd been rather obvious about following him. She didn't flinch at his threat though. She wouldn't have expected anything less from what she'd learned about him. It probably would have disappointed her if his first move wasn't to put her life on the line. There was nothing to respect in someone who wasn't as brutal as she was. "First," she began as she took a few steps towards him, wordlessly stating that she wasn't afraid. "You couldn't make a pet of me if you tried. Second, you are making a truly shocking lack of progress, aren't you? Doesn't that bother you? Honestly, I expected more of you."

plot; vergil, devil may cry inspired. half-human, half-demon, twin brother to dante. dark slayer. unlike his brother who accepted his human side, vergil embraced his demon side. they don't see eye to eye and have different agendas. vergil is on a mission to gain the power of his father, sparda, and reopen gates of hell. your muse has found it's way to him while he's in the human realm, and wants to join his cause for whatever reason you see fit, maybe they want to bring someone from the dead? either way, vergil doesn't take well to strangers so your muse better have something to offer in exchange.
They try to sneak up onto him but Vergil senses her a while ago. It was clear she was after him, nobody really bumps into him for no reason. He'd been in this little town for too long, looking into some artefacts and trying to put pieces of a puzzle together for him to finally open the gates of hell. A tough mission, especially with his brother being in this realm and knowing he'll try to stop him. Without Dante, he can't open it, either. But Vergil was going to damn try. "There is little to be gained from idle conversation, but I find myself curious..."the half-demon finally speaks out as they get close enough in the back alley he just turned to. "I've seen your face around the town. Funny enough, just as I got here. And town before this one. And before that one..."he speaks, his stance firm, gaze cold as he weighs down onto her. "I am not a pet kind of guy, and I work alone. So - I'm giving you a chance to speak your mind before I put this through you and get rid of you."Vergil huffed in a gruff tone as his hand patted the katana Yamato resting on his hip.

It wasn't like this was the first time he was going to see her. On the contrary, she knew that Rayan had already seen her. Countless times. With the way she avoided looking at herself as much as she could, he probably knew her body better than she did at this point. Still, he'd only ever seen her one way. He'd only ever seen her online persona intimately. Selene was the one he'd been looking at, charming and confident and so entirely not her. Wasn't that who he wanted, who'd fueled his obsession? Would he be disappointed to finally see Cody herself? And why was the idea that he would so heartbreaking to her?
Fear made her breath tremble as he crouched down and slowly dragged her sweatpants down her legs, lifting one after the other at the knee to pull them away completely. Even just the air hitting her skin made her flinch. There went one piece of her armor. She thought about running. Where would she go though? The apartment was only so big, and he'd already proven that he would chase her. No matter how she tried to hide, he would find her. Always. Her demon, her shadow- there was nowhere she could go where he wouldn't follow. Watching her. Looking at her.
And she'd almost grown accustomed to it since the first night she'd faced him. The weight of his golden gaze almost didn't feel so suffocating now. That wasn't when she was exposed to him though, and she had to squeeze her eyes shut when he rose and took the hem of her shirt with him. The rest of her body complied, her arms lifting as the tee was pulled away, and for just a moment, it didn't catch up to her. The knowledge that she was standing before Rayan in nothing more than her underwear didn't quite process. The mere thought that she was allowing it seemed so impossible that it couldn't be true.
Then her eyes opened. Her stomach turned. Cody instinctively curled in on herself, hugging her body over her bare breasts to hide herself as best she could. "I'm sorry." She choked out. "I just- give me a second." The dhampire swallowed hard, trying to steady her breathing. "Should I- do you want me to be her? You- you'll like it more if it's her."
