Chapter 1

Wolf Katsuki x fem! Reader

Warnings: swearing ('cause it's Katsuki. We all know)

That day was a bit cloudy but still warm, at the pet shop the silence reigned except for a light whistle and some birds chirps.

Y/N was taking care of that oversize red dog her boss brought back a week ago.

She never saw injuries that deep on an animal before. And she wasn't new to this job.

She refilled the empty bowls with water and food, petting the soft red fur lovingly. The dog wasn't able to get on his feet yet and that hit her heart badly, it's a saddening view seeing an animal beaten up by the people who were supposed to defend them. Even though you don't have any types of bond with them.

"There you go, boy. Eat slowly this time" she said, raising up and patting her apron to remove the dust. The floor really needed some cleaning.

"I'll be back later with your medicine, until then enjoy your meal!" Y/N said cheerfully, smiling when the dog wagged his tail in response.

She closed the door behind her and sighed loudly, another day of hard work was about to start.

Y/N loved her job, despite dealing 50% of the time with dumbasses who didn't even know how to take care of an animal. She knew that adopting an animal was a huge responsibility, but sometimes she thought some people weren't ready for that responsibility.

"A dime for your thoughts" said Tsuyo carrying boxes full of stuff "Just thinking if that crackhead will actually come back" she half lied, memories of yesterday flowing into her mind, making her nose scrunch in disgust "I get it. He didn't seem too friendly" Tsuyo stated simply "Looks more dangerous than those other guys for the animal rights too. Better keep our eyes open" Y/N added.

"Wouldn't be a problem I guess. Today is pretty chill" Tsuyo said opening the boxes with a cutter "I don't get my hopes up. I still waiting for the annoying customer to waltz through the door and ruin the mood" Y/N joked pointing the door. In that moment a woman with a withe fur bigger than her own body and black sunglasses walked in the shop, her heels clicked on the floor with every step.

Tsuyo gave Y/N a glance with a hint of surprise "Lupus in fabula…" she muttered and walked to the woman, plastering her best smile.

"Hello ma'am, how can I help you?" the woman removed her sunglasses enough to look at the person in front of her. "You work here?" she asked scanning the girl with diffidence. I wear the store logo and a name tag, can't you tell? "Yes ma'am. Is there something I can help you with?" the woman's eyes glistened like the girl in front of her was the reincarnation of an angel. "Yes. My little sweetheart started acting weird and I don't know what happened" she explained in a dramatic tone like her pet was 'bout to die at any second.

The over apprehensive mother that treats her pet like a child. A classic.

"Could you follow me so I can check on her?" the woman followed her, high heels clicked on the floor with a steady rhythm. To the other side of the shop were a metallic table covered by a curtain with a medical azure color, to the side of the table medicines, syringes and other medical tools were placed with methodical order.

"Could you please let me see your pet ma'am?" Y/N asked with politeness; the woman scrunched her nose slightly, probably in disgust, at the sight of the plain metal table. Under her oversized fur coat she tugged a small withe purse (a very expensive one, to clarify), as soon as she opened it a maroon head with big doe eyes came out reluctantly trembling in, what you thought was, fear.

"Don't worry sweetheart, this nice young lady is going to help you and you'll be okay soon" she cooed way too sweetly at the chihuahua in her purse, petting her trembling head with a perfectly manicured finger "Right?" she asked coldly looking back at Y/N from her black sunglasses.

She maneuvered toward the table and the woman placed her pet on the table with grace. "When she started acting weird?" she asked, listening to the little dog heartbeat with a stethoscope. "I don't know. This morning was energetic as usual: we went for a walk, then to the groomer and then we went for some shopping. You know, the annual dog contest is behind the corner and I want my little sweetie to be in perfect shape" she explained, Y/N caught the hint of vanity in her last sentence.

She's a dog, not a toy to show around.

"Did she ate something out of the ordinary?" the woman's face scrunched completely in a grimace "Of course not! I control personally her diet and I can assure you she didn't eat anything weird" replied the woman with outrage.

Pretty sure dogs shouldn't eat foie gras as a base aliment. Y/N though once she smelled the dog breath.

The bell on top of the door jingled, signaling someone had entered the shop. The little dog's ears perked up immediately and jumped off the table, running down the aisles. The woman opened her mouth in a silent scream and she runned after her pet as fast as her high heels let her, Y/N right behind her.

The chihuahua acute barks echoed in the shop, when they reached the dog she was barking at a very familiar figure.

Oh, God, please. Not him.

The angry blonde of yesterday was starting down at the smaller dog with pricing red eyes, almost like he was about to squash it under his foot. "Scram away, you little rat!" he sneered and the small dog, who ran back to her owner with her tail between her legs, whining. The woman's mouth opened but no sound came from her, Y/N knew way too well that behind those sunglasses anger was 'bout to explode.

"How dare you treat her like that!" she hissed at the blonde, he raised a brow unimpressed "She's delicate, you should treat her with some respect!" the blonde clicked his tongue annoyed "If your damn house pet can't defend themselves it's their fucking problem, not mine"

"What a shameful language" the woman gasped loudly, the blonde rolled his eyes and kept going "It's a damn dog. It should stay free and not in a damn plastic bag like a toy. I would rather suicide myself instead of being held by a bitch like you"

"You kiss your mother with that mouth, young man?!"

"How 'bout you kiss my ass, goddamn bitch!"

Y/N stepped between the two, holding her hands up as a stop sign, her fingers brushed slightly against the blond shirt feeling the hard muscles underneath. "Sir, I have to ask you to wait outside" she turned her head to the woman, simulating a smile "Ma'am, your pet has nothing out of the ordinary. She's just stressed" the woman looked at her with slight relief "Really?" Y/N hummed in response "Let her rest for a day and tomorrow she'll be alright"

"Thank you very much, darling. Glad to see there's still someone with respect for others" Y/N was surprised about her abruptly change of mood, ignoring her sarcastic dig to the blonde, who in the meantime was staring outside the glassy door, glaring to be honest.

The woman cooed at her dog with a lovey dovey tone and paid for the visit, when Y/N saw her walk away, chin up like a noble woman she thought she was, she noticed the blonde was gone; probably got annoyed and walked away or maybe he hidden in the blind corner of the entrance waiting for that annoying woman to go away before coming back inside, but he wasn't.

Y/N remembered she had to give the red wolf his medicine, she grabbed little bottle with a yellowish liquid and a syringe, going to the back room when she heard someone screaming from the other side and a metallic sound. She opened the door quietly seeing the blonde crouched in front of the dog's cage while he struggled with the lock, Y/N walked quietly as a cat facing the blonde's back.

"You never learn, do you?"
