So I read through the main running of Hellboy, in omnibus 1-4, and let me just say wow that was so sad.
In essence, its a doomed-by-the-narrative type tragedy. It tells you over and over exactly what is going to happen, but it somehow tricks you into having hope, just like HB, that he can change his fate and avoid the inevitable.
But thats what the story is about- the inevitable. The world is going to end and he’s going to end it, whether he wants to or not. He is granted a minor mercy by having the world he ends be hell, but its an empty victory. You see him resist it through the entire story and slowly lose hope, becoming more tired, and you lose hope with him.
The entire time reading it, I was begging for HB to catch some sort of break- to have something good happen to him. In the end, him accepting his fate and ending everything almost felt like a mercy, like he finally done with it and could rest.
Anywho, Mignola is an amazing writer and I will never be okay again.
Raph’s most New York line in the entire franchise
@myargentavislove11 drew my stand, Brain Eater!! 😁😁🧡
Send in a request with some information about your personality and I’ll make your stand for you! I don’t draw so you’ll have to come up with its appearance yourself.

How does your stand creation process work? You're very good at it.
Oh my goodness im sorry that I never saw this!!! Thank you for the question!
I normally read pver the requests to find something, anything, that stands out to me. I then spend a bit agonizing over how that can be used as a ability. Sometimes, if I really can’t think if anything, I go through my room to find everyday objects that can spark some thought.
Everyone is unique, but a lot of people arent able to write about what makes them unique, which is really the only thing that makes creating a stand difficult, if you ask me.
headcanon that a lot of Kid’s notoriety for not being the most…….. civilian-conscious supernova is bc when he summons metal to him it goes pretty much in a straight line and if there happens to be a person in the way that’s Not His Fucking Problem
