Anyone Else With Chronic Pain Perpetually Curious About What A Physically Healthy Person Would Do If

Anyone else with chronic pain perpetually curious about what a physically healthy person would do if they suddenly had to deal with your body

Like I'm imagining one of those annoying preppy white girls having to deal with my ankle flare ups (which sometimes feel like my lower legs are getting run over by a train)

It's very amusing and honestly a bit empowering? I mean it makes me feel like an asshole* but I am a strong asshole so HAH

*to be fair that kind of girl is very easy to laugh at especially since they're often horrible to anyone who isn't exactly like them so eh I don't feel too bad about it

Yo I also have over pronated ankles and wear insoles and hypermobile eds, but I have been wearing these insoles for a decade and I was only diagnosed with eds earlier this year. And they’re custom insoles from like a military doctor because of how messed up my ankles are cause they normally only do those for veterans and not dependents.

How did it take this long for me to be diagnosed?!?!?

I’ve been unable to get the insoles I have been using for years and went with a “recommended brand”.

Of course I spent a whole month trying to keep my knee in place before it occured to me that the new insoles were not doing their job.

Anyway, I now recommend PCSsole Heavy Duty Arch supports for over pronation, because I can walk again.

My heart hurts so to distract myself Imma tell you why vision tests are stupid.

Ok so I recently got my learners permit so I had to take a vision test but that one wasn’t bad. But it made me think about how much bullshit vision tests are.

When you take a vision test and they have you do your eyes separately but you have to read the same line?

Idk about other people but I already memorized what the line says because the doctor always makes me read with my dominant eye first, so I know what the line says even if I can’t see it clearly?!?

And I tried to convey this to my doctor and she was like well then you can read it, which no?!?

So now I have a lighter prescription than I used to and I can’t see well for shit.

I feel the need to clarify that penetration doesn’t just mean sex, not that OP was implying that, just cause that’s what I immediately thought.

It can also mean using tampons, which I can’t do because of this, and I just found out I have pcos.

Lease take care of yourselves lovelies!!!!

I wonder how many ppl with vaginas deal with vaginal atrophy without being on HRT but don't know and were given shitty little dismissals or incorrect diagnoses from their doctors

Bc I learned what it was from trans men and knew that's what I was dealing with, had a doctor check and say "oh yeah" and put me on oral estrogen which fucked me up, the correct treatment is vaginal estrogen cream or suppositories

IF YOU HAVE PCOS OR ANY OTHER HORMONE BASED DX and you have a vagina and penetration HURTS, please ask your doctor about vaginal atrophy. This is not something I was ever told about with any of my diagnoses but it's affected me since puberty. I use cream now a couple times a week and penetration doesn't hurt anymore and I don't struggle with dryness. This is a common symptom of having higher T in your body whether it's natural or due to HRT. This does not only affect post menopausal people or trans people on HRT.

Also atrophy can become bad enough that you deal with chronic pain constantly without penetration. Pain anywhere isn't normal and pain in your vagina at all is certainly abnormal.

‼️please help me get a wheelchair‼️

hello, my name is leo, or more commonly known as ‘lav’ on here.

i’ve been dealing with debilitating chronic pain for over 10 years and i really need a wheelchair. i haven’t gotten much help from my healthcare system, being fat and afab has really fucked me over while trying to seek medical attention..

i am still fighting to completely figure out what’s wrong with me, but for now i know that i have several bulging discs in my lower back, as well as scoliosis. (as well as medically recognised POTS).

my pain is getting worse and worse, and i barely leave my home since walking and being upright in general hurts so much. a wheelchair would improve my life immensely, both physically and mentally.

i am currently on disability benefits, which pretty much is the lowest income group in sweden, and saving up for a wheelchair myself would take a very long time.. i will of course also be saving up as much as i can and putting into an account meant for wheelchair funds.

so i’m asking you to donate if you want to and if you are financially able to, and if not, please reblog this.

i have found a good chair that is also accessible to a fat person, and i need 7111 SEK (around 650$) to cover the cost of the chair & the shipping. i have started a gofundme that i’ll be sharing in this post, and i welcome all help, donating just a little helps, and reblogging and sharing the gofundme in general helps immensely too.

thank you so much for reading💜

This is kinda weird but I’m trying to figure out how weird my ankles actually are. I have over-pronated ankles but high arches, which apparently is strange because flat feet cause over-probated ankles and high arches cause under-pronated.

Over-pronated ankles look like ) (

Under-pronated ankles look like ( )

And normal ankles are straight | |

Please reblog if you care to so I can get a larger sample! It would be much appreciated!

Okay but can we talk about Clovis? Everyone always talks about what was wrong with other characters or like Hazel and Piper’s eyes or how Nico was outed, and yes, we should absolutely talk about those things, but no ones ever mentioned this?  I’m always really upset about how his character was distilled down to “hahaha he sleeps a lot” and how it was used basically as a humorous thing.

Basically, Clovis was a character whose entire personality was a his disability, and it’s entire use was a bit of expose and comic relief.

I have chronic fatigue, and there is NOTHING funny about it. Not just in a “don’t make fun of disabilities way”, but also in a “it is just such a shitty way to live and if you don’t know what’s happening yet it’s terrifying”

When I was in sophomore year of high school, I developed hahsimoto’s, my endocrinologist, one of the top in the country, said I had “one of the worst cases she had ever seen”, for reference on the severity. I would wake up and go to school, often oversleeping and not getting to school until 10 or 11, sleep through the ride over, go to class, sleep through a lot of those, sleep through lunch, get home, immediately go to bed and often sleep through dinner and until the next morning. I could not stay awake. and I felt the fatigue through my whole body. Doing even the simplest tasks like walking ten feet or microwaving food exhausted me, and my thoughts were cloudy and forming comprehensive sentences was incredibly difficult. I had no idea what was going on at the time, and I was terrified.

I got diagnosed and put on synthroid, so it’s not so bad, but I also have EDS other issues, so chronic fatigue will always be a part of my life. It’s not nearly so bad anymore, but it’s still an obstacle I face everyday and is incredibly difficult, especially as part of an “invisible disability”, and having Rick Riordan use that as a joke is just really annoying.

Also, can you imagine what it would have been like for him as a child? To have such incredibly sever chronic fatigue, it would have made it near impossible for him to do basically /anything/ as a child, and he probably had a ton of trouble in school - if he even made it to school.

The biggest thing, though, is that he would have no idea why this was happening. He probably would have been shuttled from doctor to doctor, given test after test after test, none of them yielding any results. No one would know what was causing it, because it wasn’t due to anything medical, it was because of his dad. Can you imagine how hard that would have been?

Chronic illness isn’t a joke.

Casually remembering when a classmate mentioned something about burning easily in the sun and I said “pale skin gang” and they paused and said “no I’m definitely paler than you” and pulled up their sleeve.

Now I didn’t mean it as a competition, I feel that’s obvious from the statement, but I plopped down my milky, semi translucent arm and stared them down.

“Holy shit, you could be a vampire”

“Pale skin gang, we all burn together”

Mind you, I can see my veins from my shoulder all the way into my hands

But the nurses can never find a vein that works

Damn you rollie veins

Sunflower grunge

I love all things frog, mushroom, rainbow high… I have Ehlers danlos syndrome and use both a rollator and a cane. Enby that is bad at making friends but likes to have them. I adore many cartoons but haven’t seen even more.
