Devilman Yaoius is the forefather of the “Doomed Yaoi” genus of anime ships. Its offshoots, Hanta Yaoius (Greater Leopika) and Eva Yaoius (Kawoshin), retain their forefather’s biblical symbolism and dark, Lovecraftian undertones, yet evolved in a distinctly divergent manner.
