nobody understands how much i love yubashiri, not even me sometimes. it's my favorite sword in all of one piece, and it's never talked about
i know that moment in loguetown was focused on kitetsu because it was an important moment for zoro and really showed how much he believes in fate and luck, but that scene reminds me that yubashiri has so much weight to it, i think.
yubashiri was a family heirloom, and when zoro leaves the shop, tashigi asks the shopkeeper why he gave away such an important treasure, and he says "what's wrong with a man entrusting another man with his dreams?"
whether zoro knows it or not, yubashiri holds a promise and a dream similar to wado, but not as heavy or personal. we don't know what the shopkeepers dream was, but he knew he wouldn't be able to reach it and instead gave it to zoro in the form of yubashiri.
i know this isn't that important in the long run, and we don't really know anything about the shopkeeper, but zoro has this theme with promises and carrying the weight of others dreams with him. he strives to be the best and will do anything to reach the top, but he'll also do the same for people he loves and respects.
even if he doesn't know or care what yubashiri means to the shopkeeper, yubashiris history seems to fit well with zoro, and i think that's what's important. it continues this theme of dreams and promises and trust, things that are vital for zoros character. they compliment each other
and then it died in two seconds because of some random guy that we've never heard of and we'll never see again đđđ
i'm really happy zoro laid it to rest in thriller bark, but the way yubashiri died made it feel unimportant and tossed aside and i'm really upset about it
ok, so imma just say spoilers for the DHMIS tv series, but i feel like that's a given.
so. i've seen theories around about yellow guy being david and him having been hit by a car, and i agree with those. but many people, including matpat, believe leslely was the one driving. but, in episode five, when time child arrives, they have this symbol on their chest
the yellow one with the battery is clearly yellow guy, and the green one with the egg is clearly duck. which leaves the red one with the road. this is what got me thinking that red guy could've been the one driving the car, and i know that that could mean anything, but lets look at the cars.
the car they drove in episode five says "LE5L3Y' on the license plate, so that implies it's hers. however, the car that hit yellow in the 'dream' sequence is a different car.
the one that hits yellow guy in the 'dream' looks like a volkswagen bug, whereas the one that they're driving doesn't. plus, even though he struggled to turn it on, red guy seemed to know how to drive it. almost like he'd driven a car before.
now, why is he in this world if he didn't die? idk man. maybe it's a punishment of sorts. maybe lesley's teaching him lessons about how the world works to say 'it's wrong to run over children'. or maybe he is dead. idk what happened after the car hit david. that's the thing with this show. duck is implied to be the pet (with the 'dog' having his head and a few pictures in his wallet) but he's there too- maybe he was even the one who ran into the road, causing david to chase him (idk what that bird symbolizes)
or maybe i'm over thinking all of this. who knows.
welp. that's my two cents for you. do with it what you will.
Kirby you seem to have forgotten what I do with my favorites around here!
Yes I'm serious, no I'm not okay
(I'll be tagging this and further parts as #buzzkill aquatic so feel free to use that tag too if you use my aquatic expansion in your art/animations/fanfics etc)
Next part (tail edition):
has doey ever lashed out at lucas or bella?
Yes⌠though itâs never gotten physical.
While he mostly has a control on all the chunks of the boys floating around in there, on days that are particularly tiring or stressful he can lose his grip. Before Bella and Lucas this is when he would pick a corner of the room and mope in monster form (putting all focus on reigning things back in) but he is not allowed to do that anymore! You know how it feels when multiple people are talking to you or around you, feeling like you canât hear your own thoughts⌠that but it starts smothering his feelings, jerking his insides around at random. They also tend to amplify how he is already feeling, concentrating it. Things become more vivid, every feeling, thought, mental image. Itâs something he has to grit his teeth and try to ride out, using as much energy as possible to keep the turmoil inside. This is before Doey fully understands how he was made so he is not only being bombarded with these thoughts and feelings, but they all add up to something incoherent. Frequently contradicting each other, flashbacks for things he has, hasnât, has, experienced as his mind tries to stitch together a coherent story. It makes it hard to know what is actually happening in the now, to those on the outside he isnât fully there. I think Anger/Upset comes up frequently both from the stress of trying to just think, alongside the fact those are very very nuanced emotions that are built out of a lot of emotions at once that all sorta combine into yelling.
Bella and Lucas are somewhat used to Doey having energy swings (moments where he is quiet and tired and moments where he is very very enthusiastic and the such) but this is an entirely different beast. By the time either of them actually saw a proper moment(tm) they had grown fairly comfortable with him, and this was a scary awful thing. My guess is that it was probably Bella who saw it, sometime soon after Kip passed and his cork just popped. It was a lot of sobbing before he nearly smashed her with a fist. He was yelling a lot of stuff that didnât make a lot of sense to her but he almost immediately retreated to the other side of the room after the fact. I think things were hard and scary for the rest of that day, but they figured it out soon after. They really didnât have much choice but to figure it out, considering the situation. Still, took a bit for her to get a sense for them and how to deal with them (staying out of the way).
Lucas figured it out much faster, he is used to dealing with tantrums (he doesnât remember why). The longest one of these outbursts has lasted with a critter around is maybe an hour and a half. If left to ride it out at most Doey will start muttering to himself thankfully!
basketball games: oh boy it was crazy, both teams had REALLY GOOD DEFENSE so the score was ONLY 132-153
soccer games: the game went into three hours of overtime and ended with penalty kicks to decide the score, it ended up 0-1

FIRST YOU SAY I SIMP FOR ZORO AND NOW ITS SANJI. MAKE UP YOUR MIND
Listen Sanji and kitchen talk never gets old to me. Please take into consideration the following:
1. Sanji walking around with a very, very hot pan saying 'hot behind' and dodging past Nami to plate. She obviously does not take this well and thumps him so hard the pan almost falls. He is very confused, he looks like a kicked puppy. Nami hit him and left while mumbling to herself.
2. Zoro notices how the cook weaves through tight spaces very easily, especially during battle. He doesn't understand why the cook keeps yelling 'on your left!' behind!' 'corner!' at Marines and other pirates. Or why some of them yell back 'heard' or 'got it, left/corner/behind!'. What the fuck.
3. Sanji walking around with a knife and yelling 'Sharp!' as he walks out to do whatever. Franky says he's looking sharp as always cook bro. Sanji thanks as he starts peeling vegetables or something.
4. Law hearing all of this and yells at Sanji to shut up because he just wants some peace and quiet and why the fuck are all the Strawhats so loud. Sanji apologizes because it's a force of habit after being in professional kitchens since he was eight and he doesn't want to hurt him or the crew. When Law asks for further clarification he explains 'hot' and 'sharp' means he's holding something dangerous, obviously, hot pans, hot plates, knives. The 'on your whatever' and 'corner' means he's telling people where he's coming from so there's no collisions. Law is blinking at him is exasperation and agrees that him yelling that is more than acceptable because of who the Strawhats are.
