Six(ish) Sentence Sunday

...yes this is another fucking new WIP, no I am not making good choices. At least the WIP tag/current doc name is really, really unsubtle.

It's also significantly more than six sentences, if that helps?

“Look, man.” Alex grips one wrist with his other hand and brings his arms behind his head as he leans back, t-shirt riding up and exposing a thin strip of what appear to be very firm abs, and Henry is suddenly very much regretting ticking ‘no’ on the part of the form that asked if he wanted to engage in reciprocal sexual contact. “I had to sign a whole NDA that didn’t have your name on it just to get access to the one that did—obviously I’m not asking so I can turn around and put your fetishes on blast on Twitter. But you’re doing this here, not back in the UK, which means—unless y’all are planning to recolonise us and I missed the news—this is gonna be a one-time thing, or at least not super regular. Right?”  The back of Henry’s neck warms up thinking about regular—about a standing appointment in his schedule, obfuscated as carefully as his therapy visits are in case of anyone snooping but there nonetheless, a stretch of next times promising Alex’s hands on him—but Alex has already identified the exact reason why that won’t happen. And besides, he’s yet to experience Alex’s hands on him this time. “Right.” Alex leans forward with a lazy, promising smirk that has heat pooling in Henry’s gut. “Which is why I want to make sure you get exactly what you need out of this time. You went to all this effort; might as well make it one to remember, sweetheart.”

I was able to add words to the eSports AU WIP, so here's a little Alex and Zahra moment for everyone who celebrates.

Alex looks at Zahra expectantly, still waiting for the reprimanding she’ll send his way, but she only sighs; the look on her face shifting into something softer. “We’re all mad at that manbaby from the other team, but dealing with him like this isn’t the best way to go at it. Just play like you always do, you don’t need to be aggressive to prove he’s dogshit.” And, okay. He can’t really go against that, can he? “Sorry, Z.” “Don’t be.” Zahra reaches over to pat the top of his head, ultimately deciding to completely mess with it at the last second and eliciting a laughter out of them both.

I’m all scratched up and I can still taste spray paint in my mouth and my husband almost fell out of a tree BUT THE GHOST SCULPTURES ARE FINISHED!

acquaintance - Exes to What? AU

There’s a bunch of classmates, celebrities, Nora posting a photo dump about their weekly Austen-binge with June popping in every so often in the slides. Pez in another outfit that never fails to fill Alex with awe; they’re the most stylish person he probably knows, and that’s saying something with his revolving door of acquaintances and friends. Ellen with her recent campaign publicity pictures. His dad doesn’t have instagram, but every now and then Oscar’s face shows up on news outlets as the current-seating senator of California. And then, unmistakably enough to Alex’s eyes, there’s also Henry.

monk - ATLA AU

Alex was already in the Avatar State, and finally looking around the room — littered with Fire Nation army uniforms and the remains of a monk who clearly meant something to Alex and June — it's not hard to understand why.

So Henry doesn't ask Alex where he goes or why he has new cuts on his hands or what he gets up to whenever he's not in school — only looks at him as if all the burning questions he wants to send Alex's way was his newfound telepathic skill. Does so in the next few days because he can't just let go of things like that, and ultimately only stops when Alex finally shoots back a quizzical look at him. He doesn't look angry, per se, but the littlest hint of a challenge does start resting on his eyebrows whenever he spares Henry a glance.

WIP Wednesday

Heyyyy it's WIP Wednesday, and I haven't written a single word since my last drabble on Christmas morning! Currently, I am grateful for WIPs that are staring mournfully at me from my docs, waiting to be completed.

As much as I've been trying to play my NYE AU close to the chest, I am simply bursting to share more with y'all, so I'd like to introduce you to a portion of the fic that had @ssmtskw apparently laughing out loud earlier.

“I have an idea,” Nora pipes up, the siblings turning their collective attention on her as a shower of rainbow glitter drifts to the ground at her feet. “How about you find someone to spend the evening with? Just pick someone who draws you in, whether it’s vibes or looks or whatever, and ask them to be your date tonight.” “I don’t need a date,” Alex retorts. “No, but you want one, don’t you? You’re always complaining about being our third wheel. So go find a fourth and make it a whole car,” Nora teases, squeezing Alex’s cheek. He swats her hand away and throws up his middle finger. “I’m not asking you to pick out wedding rings. Just find a hot stranger in a mask to grind on for the night.” “Can you not?” June begs, grimacing at the thought before adding, “Aside from the…grinding…she has a point, Alex. Your sister and her girlfriend are your only friends in a city of millions. It’s time to branch out, baby bro.” Alex rolls his eyes, ready with a fresh argument about how he has friends, thank you very much. But the words immediately die on his tongue, the bitter taste of a lie that he has to swallow back down quickly and hopes to drown in liquor later tonight. “Fine,” he grumbles, the hot pink arms of his blazer crossed dramatically over his chest. June reaches up and quickly ruffles his curls before throwing open the doors and dashing inside, Nora hot on her heels. After a brief moment of rearranging his hair back to its pre-sister perfection, he heaves a deep breath, opens the doors, and steps inside.

Okay, so, I read a little too much fanfiction, this isn't even a comprehensive list of the amount of options I have but these are some of my favourites.

Also just read every single of Trace's fics, they are so good. 2. How well you play... that's up to you- @happiness-of-the-pursuit (M | 4.3k | One-Shot) Grey's Inspired AU, my best advice is to just experience it, I won't tell you anything else because you need to see it for yourself. 3. All of these Minor Feelings, are Majorly Breaking Me Down - ACDs_Coffee (M | 2k | One- Shot) A story that centers around Rafael Luna, following he announcemt of the Richard's campaign, it's heavy and it's truly wonderful. 4. praying our bridges don't make waves - @anincompletelist (E | 82k | Finished Multichap) A Soulmate AU with Fake Dating that I could not put down, once I started I was so trapped I read this whole thing in one day. 5. The Anatomy of a Big Sister - politics_and_prose (T | 7.3K | One- Shot) A journey through Alex's relationship with Henry in June's eyes, it's truly one of my favourite ones.

Hello and welcome to the first Red White and Royal Blue New Year's Gift Exchange!

New Year's? Yes. New Year's.

A lot of fandoms have Christmas gift exchanges or Secret Santa events, and while we love those, it does get a little busy in the run up to Christmas.

Plus, New Year's Eve is when the Firstprince story really started!

So we went with a New Year's gift exchange instead.

And what better way to start the new year than with a RWRB gift?

All gifts are due January 1st 2024, whether that's one minute after midnight (on the night from December 31st to January 1st) or one minute before midnight (from January 1st to January 2nd) is entirely up to you.

Here's the last line I've written in my Exes to What? fic (gave it a working title and all). Hehe. Cheating a bit with the enclosed line but pls don't perceive me.

Karaokes were always the easiest way to loosen up a Henry Fox, even his favourite drink could never give him enough liquid courage to do so, but give him a mic and a dream and you'll have Henry in his element. (Alex is not entirely sure why he knows that, or still knows that; it's been over a year since they broke up.)

An archivist found a long forgotten 8mm film reel in an old metal box, marked "Philippines 1942". Thinking it was lost WWII footage, he sent it in to be restored/digitized. When he got the footage back, he found puppies instead (via)
