me, in the shower, contemplating life: honestly truly there is no child as good and pure as my son killua. he only ever wanted to make friends he treats alluka so well (and we KNOW he didn't learn that behaviour from the rest of his family). consider how MUCH he's willing to do for his friends, not just gon but kurapika and leorio too. this tiny tiny child is just so perfect and selfless and kind. contemplate how much everyone depends on him to be the calm and rational one... that'S SO MUCH PRESSURE he's 12!!!! but my son can do it, my son can do anything i am so proud :')) he is so cute and remember those little cat faces he does sometimes?? precious oh yes. and he is trying his best oh boy he's really just trying to do the right thing! truly nothing can compare to my beautiful, brilliant boy
HUNTER × HUNTER || chapter 85
A nice little squad moment that was changed in 2011 adaptation. Gon considerately looking at his friends... Killua and Leorio's encouraging smiles... 💞
What are hxh's themes?
Eeeeek okay. So HxH had a ton of themes, some unique to each arc, some overarching.
I’d say the overarching ones I’ll chat about here are growing up (aka responsibility), recovery from trauma, discovery, the importance of connection, and human nature. These are explored differently in each arc, though. First, I want to address overarching themes as addressed in the character development since HxH fundamentally addresses its themes through both character development and worldbuilding, and then I’ll briefly talk about each arc.
So let’s start with the premise. Here are our three main protagonists (there is a fourth but he doesn’t have an arc so I shan’t talk about him as much).
Gon–>a boy on a quest to find his father.
Killua–>a boy on a quest to escape his family.
Kurapika–>a boy on a quest to avenge his tribe.
Notice how it expands, showing us the importance of both self-discovery, connection, and discovery of the world in these quests and therefore the character development.

I find it so cute and funny that Killua invited himself to Gon’s own house.
[ ] he doesnt wanna assasinate anymore
[ ] he wants to have friends
[X] He would gamble the fucking whole mountain away
