She is a child, and stolas is an adult who has made his bed and has to deal with the consequences of said choices

(Even though I admit octavia, fears of abandonment have been shown and resolved way too many times. I blame the show writing for not giving her more to do other than being a plot device)

It has been proven time and time again that octavia is not the most confident in believing stolas won't abandoned her and run off with blitz

And what does stolas do with his actions without hesitating to prove his daughter wrong and he will never leave... abandoned her and left to save blitz life

Then, once he begins his new life with blitz, he forgets about her until the mention of rats got him to remember to call her.

(Honestly, I was confused later on when stella was like, "he trying to call all month." So, like, did stolas forget about via only that day or week? The timeline is very confusing.)

Once again, proving his fantasies with blitz are more important than octavia.

A good father would be doing everything he could to make sure he gets his daughter back as fast as possible. Especially if his daughter is in the custody of two people who try to kill him.

He would be getting a lawyer, trying to get court to rehear everything out, and of course, try to get his daughter forgiveness even if it takes years to rebuild.

But stolas does nothing but cry because he poor the entire episode...

look i know i've talked about it before but it was more from the angle of analyzing how this plotline could have been about persephone legitimately overthrowing hades, and not from the angle of how this one scene completely undermines all of rachel's manufactured attempts to "create a dialogue" about sexual assault and consent

and i'm specifically referring to THIS SCENE.

honestly hades is a toxic piece of shit himself who deserves jail for life but like. the tonal whiplash of this comic often has me feeling torn between "persephone is a victim of grooming who became what she once despised" and "persephone was actually always a deeply insecure and manipulative person and that's why she and hades get along so well" 💀😭 regardless of whichever conclusion you come to, neither of them are exactly indicative of a writer who really understands consent or healthy relationships, because despite whichever scenario makes the most sense, rachel still tried (and in many ways, succeeded) to convince her audience of girls and women alike that these two are healthy couple goals and that her extremely limited 10th grade understanding of consent and sexual health was "helping people"

and yes this further cements persephone as rachel's self-insert

because while she's gone on record to say she's never been sexually assaulted, she has admitted in interviews and social media posts to being in similar situations where her autonomy was being invaded upon

including a literal REAL LIFE STALKING SITUATION

like. that is an incredibly shitty and horrifying situation to be in. and i wanna make it clear, i'm not trying to use this against her in any way. this is something she didn't deserve to go through and reversely, does deserve to move on from.

i bring it up though precisely because it's incredibly telling that she, as a writer who claims she wants to use her platform as a means to "help people", is not capable of actually practicing what she preaches, and thus her characters aren't capable of doing that either. she's still exhibiting and glorifying behaviors and traits that align with the people who have harmed her, because HADES LITERALLY FUCKING STALKS PERSEPHONE AND IT'S PLAYED UP FOR COMEDY-

THIS SHIT WAS IN THE PILOT VERSION OF THE COMIC TOO, BEFORE IT WAS EVER AN ORIGINALS SERIES. HADES HAS ALWAYS BEEN WRITTEN LIKE THIS AND IT'S ALWAYS BEEN ROMANTICIZED AND PLAYED UP FOR GAGS.

LIKE I'M SORRY, IS THE "DECONSTRUCTION" HERE JUST SUPPOSED TO BE RACHEL TURNING HER OWN TRAUMA INTO COMEDY INSTEAD OF GOING TO THERAPY ???

The reason that Sir Gwaine and Sir Lancelot never truly became friends is that Gwaine had always been and would always be extremely jealous of Lancelot.

Because he just knew that there was something between Lancelot and Merlin that he didn’t know about and that he couldn’t truly grasp even if he tried to. And he knew that there was something that Merlin was keeping from him and apparently Merlin had decided to tell Lancelot of all people.

Perfect, stupidly honorable Lancelot.

And yes, maybe Gwaine was a little bit too possessive sometimes, but Merlin was his first friend and his best friend and he surely wouldn’t lose him! Not to Sir Lancelot!

andres dumb plan hinges too much on the idea of "stolas will come save blitz because he loves him and then hold himself accountable so i can take his legions! obviously!" when theres like. no implication that anyone really knows what blitz and stolas's relationship is, or that they even care about each other, especially not when stella said, "he finally realized that filthy little beast was only using him to gain access to his grimoire", like, what about that implies that stolas would give a shit if anything happened to someone who was "using him"? thats right - it doesnt! if andres plan had been properly executed in the stupid ass way he set it up in the episode, then blitz wouldve been executed, and fuck all wouldve happen to stolas after. if anything, hed be treated like a hero who was used unfairly by some low life, who was then slaughtered on tv to remind the lower citizens of hell not to fuck with the upper crust. imagine if that had happened, forcing stolas to go back to his home by himself; no stella since they divorced, no via since shes turning 18 soon, and no blitzy, ever again. maybe they shouldve just done that tbh, that way he could take over the show completely, since thats obviously what viv wants so damn bad. (also, stolas possible redemption arc when he realizes his actions actually DO have consequences!) or, i dunno, if she had the maturity to let other people look at her 3 year old script without surrounding herself with yesman, she mightve realized that she couldve kept EVERYTHING she wanted and still had the same ending, at the price of having stolas do the bare minimum and say, "he didnt force himself onto me, i.. forced myself onto him." the ending with all the imps hating stolas would make sense (because they know hes a rapist), blitz being able to even acknowledge any care he has for stolas might make more sense if he'd even SAY what he did wrong to blitz in front of EVERYONE important in hell, being a way to make up for his manipulative behavior and him hiding his face at ozzies, especially if stolas said, "i'm so sorry, blitz. for getting you into this mess, for everything ive done to you.." after blitz says thank you when they return home. (thats just the way i'd write it, because i cannot fucking stand that blitz says, "thank you, stolas, for saving my life," when blitz, at minimum, has saved stolas's life 3 TIMES AND HAS NEVER GOTTEN A THANK YOU ONCE BEFORE THIS POINT and was even INSULTED over saving him the best he could, because blitz needed to be there for his DAUGHTER first like a good dad, which is obviously something stolas has never comprehended since his sacrifice and willingness to die for his former forced sex slave in mastermind proves that, but stolas saves blitz twice, the second time being when hes holding himself accountable for his own actions that nearly got his "lover" killed to begin with? oh, heres a gold star, a thank you from the guy you forced to have sex with you to keep food on the table for his family, and a free imp to wash you just like when you were 12 i mean a totally not trauma bonded bf!)

Now, having blitz died is a very interesting idea

I mean, it would be very cool to see how each character reacts to his death, like having loona experience her sadness by turning it into anger and having millie and moxxie grieving with each other the best they can.

It would also be very interesting to see stolas hitting the deep end as he realized how his life is falling apart

I could see stolas trying to reach out to everyone blitz knew, and nobody wanted to do anything with stolas

From then on, the series would follow stolas as he deals with everything

CAMELOVE 2021

Day 2: Knights in Shining Armour

Merwaine! Mer-what? MerWAINE! Mer-who? 

OR: The moment Merlin / Sir Gwaine became Canon

So  just in case you didn’t know, and no I won’t ask any questions… out loud  BBC Merlin takes place in the Middle Ages. Which is all fun until you end up participating in a jousting tournament or a melee by accident and there’s people running around who have magically sharpened swords! 

I know. Wrong place, wrong time kind of situation. Kind of sort of maybe just a little awkward. Unless you end up going on purpose! 

Like Gwaine did in the fourth episode of Season 3, when he returned to Camelot, after having been banished by Uther Douchedragon because he supposedly attacked a knight. Oops.

Technically he did attack a knight, since only the audience knew the man was actually a bandit under a magical disguise at the time, but that’s not really the point here…

Right, so back to the melee.

Or wait. Before that we might want to go back to the beginning of the episode for a minute, just to remind ourselves that Gwaine woke up naked in Merlin’s bed got taken to Camelot to get his wounds treated. You know, the wound on his leg which required Merlin to… take the man’s shirt off…?!

Okay now definitely back to the melee!  Gwaine returns to go fight and stand by Arthur’s side when he unknowingly faces the Extra Pointy Magic Blades™.   The episode was called Gwaine, our boy really didn’t have a choice but go back and save the day, did he?

For those of you who know me… I’ve got a thing for Knightly Favours (aka the ribbons Knights tie around their arms to show the world who they’re fighting for, which is also a promise to come back home to their beloved and return the favour to them as soon as the battle is over)

So imagine my surprise when Gwaine came back to fight in the melee. AND was wearing a Knightly favour… And not just any Knightly Favour. He wore a strip of white bandage cloth around his left arm! The bandage Merlin used to care for his wounds. And he wore it for the whole world to see, right then and there on the melee field. 

To show who he was fighting for. 

And to promise Merlin he’d come back one day. 

In conclusion. Merwaine was canon. Change. My. Mind.

I actively lost interest in both hb and hh fandom. there are just so many toxic people who say Hazbin Hazbin and Helluva boss are the best. they don't deserve the criticism!

Yet, they don't realize that even the most greatest thing in the world doesn't free itself from criticism.

thinking about how immortal merleon actually get together

they might have been attracted to each other in camelot, but i think they both would have been too busy to realize it, especially merlin

the first few years without the others are hard. theyre in mourning and so they never consider their feelings

once they start to move on, they part ways for a while, trying to figure out who they are individually in this new life

they find each other again, of course, then drift off, then back together, many times over the years.

theyre never surprised when they find their way back to each other, it just makes sense to be back with the other

one day, after about 150 years, merlin mentions that his magic always seems calmer when he's with leon. he can control it better, like in the golden days of camelot when he was surrounded by everyone he loved.

it takes another 30+ years (they both stopped counting after a while) for leon to realize why it always felt so right being together

he'd loved the man for hundreds of years, its why he always instictively looks for him, even if he knows he's nowhere around

its why when they finally find each other again, he feels like he can breathe properly.

at first he isnt sure if merlin feels the same, but then he remembers merlin's magic comes as easy to him as breathing. they feel the exact same way

so he plucks up the courage to say something the next time he sees the man.

which somehow happens to be the very next day, almost as if merlin felt the same pull in his chest that leon was feeling

leon doesnt hesitate to tell merlin how he feels, and how long he thinks he's felt it

merlin, of course, beams at him and tells him he had just had the same epiphany the day before

they never part after that.

I hope to lord almighty and divine power on earth that vizzie does not touch mythology. Especially Greek myths. I can picture what she would do to Hades. A skinny pastey twink with long black hair. 🤢

God, me neither, I can imagine all the ways she would mess with greek mythology.

Honestly, I genuinely wonder now how she would handle Zeus and his cheating. Would he be the bad guy, or would he be given a reason to justify his cheating.
