I'm just gonna come out and say this - People are going to interpret a character/franchise differently. Each person's interpretation is going to be different, even if it's just by a bit. Does that mean one interpretation is better than the other? No. Are some more accurate than others? Yes - But that doesn't give you the right to shit on people for their contribution to the fandom. If it's something extremely problematic, that's a different story. But headcanoning a character as 'gay' is not problematic. Shipping two legal, non-related characters is not problematic. Writing a character differently than how they are portrayed in the media is not problematic - Inaccurate, sure, but nothing serious.
Instead of saying "fuck this fandom" or "this fandom is so ass", CONTRIBUTE WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE !! That's the entire reason I made this account: I wasn't seeing as much content {that fit my narrative} as I would've wanted. So, what did I do? I made that content myself.
I did not shit on other creators for their posts. I did not say "fuck this fandom/this fandom sucks." I started using my brain {which some of you aren't doing for some reason..} and writing/drawing/CREATING my own shit. It doesn't matter if my posts get 1 like or 1000 likes, I'm content with my posts - That's it.
You don't have to agree with everything/everyone in the fandom, just have the decency to respect people - my god
Grow a pair {of ovaries} and contribute what you want to receive instead of whining on the internet about your bullshit predicament đ«
no hate to any fic writers I love you guys so much but how does Thomas know exactly what he's doing each time y'all get down and dirty
He's a VIRGIN living in an EXTREMELY RELIGIOUS household. His bruncle probably knows nothing of value or accuracy, considering he's a "sexually perverted homicidal maniac" in the words of R Lee Ermey.
Thomas' only experience with sex is most likely through magazines and observation (of non-consensual sex, might I add).
How does he know proper sex ettiequte. Or how to pleasure someone at ALL (Especially afab)?? He does not know the anatomy enough đ
"But Tae..he's a butcher? Wouldn't he know anatomy?" Uh, yeah, but does he know the anatomy of female reproduction and their purposes? No, I think not.
I'm less concerned with male anatomy considering Thomas has male anatomy..and has probably experimented with it..
ALSO - if I may, he's so gross. So so so so SO gross. One word: UTI. You're gonna get a UTI, baby..I don't make the rules. I love you Tommy but you need to shower and probably trim a bit
Listen - I love reading them. I love writing them sometimes, but my brain can't accept fanfics unless they are 90-95% accurate đ
Hey! I really like your posts.(Sorry for my bad Englishđđđ) And I feel so awkward asking you something..đ Well, in general I was interested. Thomas is a very closed person and I was interested if it is AT ALL possible to get closer to him. Like, is this even possible? What would he value in a person? Or maybe there would be some rules when communicating with him and his family? Sorry if my question sounds stupidđ
Hi! Don't worry, your English is very good! This question isn't stupid at all - I think it's wonderful! Plus, it gives me more to work with which I always appreciate. I took this as an opportunity to introduce what life would be like as a Hewitt "guest" - Which I will expand on in future posts đ«
Yay! Youâve survived the Hewitts - A real accomplishment if you ask me. Sure, youâre scratched up, bleeding, and traumatized but youâre alive, arenât you? {Wouldâve been better to die, but..canât do much about that now.}
____
Communicating with the family? That's not gonna be as hard. Submission and respect is what they accept - Nothing but.Â
First of all, youâre not automatically âfamilyâ just because you survived - Youâre a âguestâ captive. Youâll join them for dinner, you will NOT interrupt prayer; Youâll do chores, specifically the tedious or strenuous ones: Cleaning bathrooms, helping with laundry, dusting {the house definitely needs it}, getting Thomas for dinner, tending to the animals, dishes, ironing clothes - Anything to help the family. You will do as youâre told. If you donât, they wonât hesitate to penalize you.Â
Be prepared to give up all your belongings and morals. Everything they want, theyâll get. Books, clothing, food, MONEY, itâs theirs. If you have weapons, Hoyt is taking those IMMEDIATELY - Theyâre his now. Â
You will eat. Do not waste food, time, money, anything. The Hewitts have little as is, donât decrease their chances of survival.Â
If youâre fem-presenting, watch for Hoyt and Monty. Both are sexual deviants with no respect for women outside the family. From what Iâve seen in the films, Hoyt tends to prefer blondes - I donât see Monty as caring too much. Just like he did with Erin, Monty will ask for âhelpâ when you two are alone.Â
âCan you help me grab that?â - âCould you help me get up?â - âCould you pick this up for me?âÂ
Anything that gives him room to grope. Heâll try to trip you and lift your clothes with his cane, too.Â
Back to Hoyt,
Hoytâs a piece of shit, but heâs not as bad once youâre âfamily.â Itâll start off very rocky - Calling you slurs, being physically, verbally, mentally, emotionally abusive, trying to grope and rub-up you {if youâre fem-presenting}, VERY little trust, and lots of belittling remarks.Â
âI donât know what {whoever spared you} saw in youâ - âOne word, and Iâll get Tommy to chop your pretty ass up nâ serve you on this very dining tableâ - âWhat the hell are you doing? You ainât doing it right..assholeâ - Lots of comparisons to livestock and hookers, and lots of âyou fucking idiot!â
Once he's gotten used to you, he'll respect you a bit more. {If you've gotten close to Luda Mae or Thomas, he'll calm down}. If you're not a straight white woman, he'll call you a slur and frame it as a joke - It's not. He respects those who're part of the family, but that doesn't mean he wont ridicule you when you {or a victim} pisses him off. The easiest way to gain his respect is work. When he sees you working your ass off for the family, he'll slowly but surely gain respect for you. It may not seem like it, but Hoyt Charlie does care. He'll protect you from whatever once you're part of the family..but he'll still be 'tough love'.
--
Youâll have the best luck with Henrietta - Sheâs the least likely to get violent or judgy if you arenât judgemental to her. You wonât see her too often - But when you do, donât get confrontational {this goes for every family member}. The Tea Lady {Kathryn} Wonât do much harm either. Sheâs not too confrontational, only minor teasing with other family members. When she comes over for tea with Luda Mae, donât interrupt unless youâre spoken to.
OFFER AS MUCH AS YOU CAN !! If you see Luda doing housework, offer to help. At the scene around 1:12:00 in TCM: The Beginning, when Hoytâs in the kitchen with Luda Mae - At around 1:12:20 when she says âIâll go set the tableâ, it would be best if YOU offered to set the table. Preferably before she announces that she will. Recognize their routine, incorporate yourself by helping out when you can.Â
One of the biggest, most influential things you could do is warn the family when something happens. For example; in TCM:The Beginning, at around 1:16:55 {when Chrissie grabs the knife?} You should immediately either A.) Tell Hoyt; Or B.) Run after/Yell for Thomas. This will prove to them that you care about the family, their safety, and how they operate. That will automatically bring you closer to becoming a âmemberâ of the family.Â
Itâs easier to become part of the family if youâre: A woman {Luda wants a daughter}, a Christian, submissive, quiet, hardworking, or NICE TO THOMAS !!Â
This doesnât mean you have to compliment Thomas or be attracted to him - Just donât alienate him, stare excessively, or give him judgmental looks / remarks.Â
{if youâve gotten close to Luda Mae}Â
When she starts talking about Tommy, thatâs a good sign. ESPECIALLY in relation to you.
âY'know, Tommyâs really starting to take a liking to you.â = Heâs stayed up thinking about you.Â
If she ever sends you to get Thomas, sheâs trying to set you two up / get you two closer. If she likes you, sheâll connect you with Thomas.Â
Sheâs pretty kind to you - But sheâs still strict. No wasting food, no defiance, no secrets, no shaming of the family {especially Thomas}, do as youâre told. If youâre not busy, sheâll invite you to join her and Kathryn for tea sometimes. {Especially if youâre in a relationship with Thomas, they wanna know everything most things}.Â
Jedidiah just wants a friend. He's a lonely boy who will happily draw you {please praise it, he needs some.} He gets hurt often {cuts, bruises, scabs}, he's outside a lot. You might be asked to babysit, which if you do, be prepared. He's a bit of a chatterbox if he likes you. Draw together, pose for his portraits, and let him ramble about whatever's on his mind. {You could try to get family information out of him, but butter him up first.} This will also help you get closer to Luda Mae and Thomas - Showing care for Jedidiah is a good sign that you're not a total asshole.
____
Thomas is closed off for a few reasons: Previous trauma, anxiety, insecurity, and "fear" of outsiders. One of the easiest ways to get closer to him is by showing respect to the family. If you don't cause chaos, heâll be less antsy around you. Especially if you get close to his mother. Be patient with him, please. Heâs trying his best. Leave him alone when heâs stressed or really upset - Heâll usually storm off to his room or the basement. He needs time to himself, be mindful of that. Thomas, in his nature, is introverted. This doesnât mean he hates people - Heâs just very cautious.Â
You donât necessarily have to compliment Thomas, but itâll definitely help him weaken his guard. I.E; âI like your mask{s}â is a wonderful place to start. Even if you donât like his masks, complimenting his work is the easiest way for him to reconsider how he views you.Â
He LIVES for praise. {This connects to the compliments} - Compliment his strength, his stature, his craft, how he provides for the family. STAND UP FOR HIM !!! Oh my god, and PLEASE thank him for things. For example, if he gets something for you, please say âThank youâ, itâll mean so much to him. He just needs lots of praise and appreciation.Â
If youâre ever serving dinner, give him a bigger portion. Heâll appreciate it.Â
If you ever find things he might like {CDâs, Jewelry, BONES, Needles, Thread} anything he can craft with, give it. Itâll further weaken his protective walls and show that youâre one of the very few people whoâs genuinely interested in Thomas.
When attempting to have a conversation with Thomas, do it when heâs not busy - And when heâs not too tired. At the dinner table? Not the greatest option; Hoyt will be eavesdropping and Thomas is focused on eating. Maybe after dinner - If no âguestsâ are around. If youâre gonna ask him questions, itâs preferred if theyâre âyes/noâ questions. Something easy and quick for him to answer.Â
As soon as he starts loosening his guard, softening his gaze, staring at you / acknowledging you more, and doing things for you; Youâre in. Heâs semi-comfortable with you. When heâs really comfortable around you, heâll treat you as if youâve always been here. More touchy {depending on what type of relationship you two have}, open to conversation, less likely to guard his things; Just generally calmer around you. Oh, and heâll be very protective :) {Hoyt and Monty will be deterred}.
Ask him how he's doing - He may not always respond but it's a start. Bring him water, don't get in the way of his work, give him his space, compliment / praise / acknowledge him, and let Thomas grow at his own pace. The best things take time, especially relationships {of any kind}. Mutual respect is key đ«
____
I hope this answers your question! If it doesn't {or you have more questions}, please let me know! Thank you for the ask <3
{Literally just these three but y'know - Monty's sleeping as usual with his lazy ass}
I think Luda Mae fears God; Hoyt doesn't..at least not as much. They were both raised the same, by the same people, in the same environment, of the same religion. But Hoyt was - is, a product of sin, in my interpretation. Hoyt was born of sin and will die of sin; Born to commit the sins of his father. Because of his "predestined" behavior, I think Hoyt views what he's doing as either a form of redemption {for himself and his mother} as well as a final 'fuck you' to God. {Inconsistent ahh religious relationship}
its seems almost as if Charlie views himself as someone who's predisposed to hell. "I was born of sin, I'll die of sin - Might as well have some fun." His experiences in the world most likely drove him away from religion and weakened his faith in God overall - Further fueling this mindset.
In some individuals, religion can develop into a form of psychosis. I don't think Hoyt has that {on the surface}, but Luda definitely does. I doubt God is going to make you burn for fucking up, Jesus didn't care as long as it was genuine mistake. If he did, everyone would be in hell right now. The only reason Eve was punished is because she prioritized herself and her pleasure over the boundaries of God. That's not the same as messing up, people forget that. But in the case of the Hewitts - They chose the same path as Eve - Just more viciously.
The Hewitts {Hoyt more specifically} prioritized family pride over the lives of other people. They'd rather stay on their land than move away. They'd rather be forgotten by society - Kill and consume outsiders, instead of adapting to another town.
Remember the dinner scene in TCM: The Beginning? Just before Bailey dies, as Chrissie's insulting the family. That right there is the perfect example of the family's philosophy.
C: "I have a question for you, it involves the family tree - the lineage, if you will; So I guess this one's for the table: You guys fuck all your cousins or just the ones you find attractive?"
H: "You blasphemous bitch! This is redemption, lady, that's what this is! Oh, you're all gonna pay for your sins, that's right! And especially you."
Hoyt knows what they're doing is wrong - they all do. Yet they reframe it as "cleansing the world of sin." The mindset "we do what we have to in order to survive."
H: "You starve to death, or survive."
Hoyt views what they're doing as means of survival. They were starving to death - which he explicitly says in the 'first supper' scene
H: "Thanks to the good sheriff here, we ain't gonna go hungry tonight. Matter of fact, we ain't never gonna starve again."
____
Dean deserved to die because he failed his country. His fellow soldiers. Morgan, Kemper, Pepper, Andy, Erin, they all deserved to die for their possession of weed and their disrespect towards the family. Chrissie and Eric deserved it for the same reason. Bailey was with those 'disrespectful draft dodgers.' She was a whore, too - Just as sinful in the eyes of the lord.
stfu Hoyt as if you haven't done worse
Erin and Bailey disrespected Thomas - This would set Luda Mae off so bad. SHE LITERALLY SAID "Get her out of my sight" to Thomas in reference to Erin. She's disgusted by them - Disgusted by anyone who insults her, Thomas, {anyone in the family really}, or God.
L: "I know your kind - Nothing but cruelty and ridicule for my boy, all the time he was growing up. Does anybody care about me and my boy? Huh?"
--
E: "What's wrong with you fucking people?"
H: "Nothing wrong with us..?"
L: "Tommy; Thomas Brown Hewitt, you get in here right now! Get her out of my sight."
--
None of them deserved a second chance. As soon as they stepped onto the property, they solidified their fate. The Hewitts view themselves almost as a necessary evil - Angels of Death, if you will. They kill who they do based on how 'sinful' they are. That includes how they treat the family. {Which I doubt is based on 'respect' being one of God's values - I think it's because of how prideful these people are.}
____
Luda fears God. She fears The Rapture. When Jesus walks the Earth to gather his sheep. The day he waltzes into the Hewitt household taking the form of a 'helpless draft-dodger.' When the molded wallpaper and dusty lace tablecloth aren't enough to hide the rotting carnage, seething beneath the decaying floorboards. As he takes his place at the table, looking down at the family -
"This is redemption, lady, that's what this is! Oh, you're all gonna pay for your sins, that's right! And especially you."
You.
The wailing. The begging. The prayers falsely spoken by your forked tongue.
"I'm not gonna hurt you, honey."
Liar.
A shepherd? No, - Vicious wolves clothed in the skin and cloak of the fallen guardian. Harboring the sheep to their intemperate slaughter - You selfishly feast upon.
Did you feel it?
Do you feel it now?
Whilst the blood spilt from between her legs; Staining your sheets - The same ones Mama's washed over and over for the same selfish reasons.
Rewarding, was it not?
Did the screeches of pain exhort you? - Ravish you. It feels good to take what you deserve.
Except you didn't deserve it; Did you, Charlie.
Not by my teachings - and certainly not by your mother's.
"You poor thing; Sweet mourning lamb. There's nothing you can do - It's already been done."
But she deserved it.
She sinned - Did she not?
And sinners don't deserve patience - Nor do they deserve mercy.
They're vessels possessed by the Devil - You were only doing what's best.
Clearing them out.
And the cowardly - I didn't teach my children to be cowardly, did I? No, I did not. You're not a coward, are you, Charlie? Most certainly not - Not with what you've done to serve your country. No; You're a hero.
Heroes don't rape
Our Hero.
Heroes won't yield
My Hero.
Coward.
And cowards heroes like you deserve a special place in hell Heaven.

this is so ass đ #yapville
"Who is THAT Diva?" Mama...a narcissist
I have no idea what to post I'm so sorry - Take this
Andrew Bryniarski is not a good person - He's cussed people out for jokes, made light of Gunnar Hansen's death {they had a disagreement, Hansen made a light jab, Bryniarski took it too far}, made disgusting comments about Hansen and those defending him {telling them to "suck his dead nuts" and "suck a big bag of black dicks, asshole"}, as well as just being a genuinely narcissistic asshole. If he wasn't an ass, I wouldn't be making jabs at his looks :)
Love Thomas, not Andrew đ«
Kinda funny how his most popular role is the one that looks / acts the least like him
TW: Strong language, gore, self-depredation, TCM-related topics
This is so cringe I'm sorry
I don't remember the last time I felt competent; Worthy of anything really. Kill or be killed; Work 'till you drop, son. That's what uncle Charlie Hoyt told me. Not much I can do anymore. The meat plant closed almost four years ago and yet I still yearn for it. How I felt when I finally had a place to feel 'normal.' I felt like a freak, sure, but at least I had a purpose. Momma was happy, I was bringing in money, food; Something beneficial to the family name. Now, all I have is the basement. It's the only place that feels like my own. Everything else is either taken from me or shared with the family. I don't understand; Other families get to live peaceful lives. I don't know, what did we do? Why aren't I good enough? Momma tells me I'm good enough but I could never forget the horror painted on her face when she saw the wounds on my face years back. She was so worried, so angry with me that I would ever make her worry like that. When she first saw the masks; She always fostered my creativity but all that support decayed the moment she saw that mask. I remember his blood staining my face; It felt good. I wish it didn't, but it did. The way my sweat mixed with his blood felt like I became someone new. He was handsome, from somewhere with a purpose. Uncle Hoyt said he was reenlisting in Vietnam before he came here. I never knew too much about those things but I remember how I felt when Uncle Charlie left me. He never did come back. There was something different about him; That became especially clear that night when he killed the Sheriff. The day I got fired; The day that whore insulted my family. Maybe he was right. Maybe I am an animal. Momma tries to reassure me I'm not, but what if I am? What if that's all I'm meant to be. A dumb animal scurrying around with his dumb chainsaw-toy for food. Playing with his dolls and playing 'make-believe' just to feel special. I'm a failure, that I know for certain. But I know that if I leave; If I die then Momma and them will die too. I could never let that happen; Not when they're all I have. I need to fix things. I'll keep Momma happy, I swear I will. I'll make my uncles proud of me. I have to. I-
"Thomas! Thomas Brown Hewitt, you get up here right now!"
I hate to admit it, but I don't really like the dinners we have. I've gotten used to them; bland and unfulfilling, but it's all we have. Tonight was no different. Into the dining room where the remaining family members were seated, the "Sheriff", God I wish Uncle Charlie came back, was standing behind 'his' chair at the head of the table, leaning on his arms for support as they held the chair crest. Uncle Monty remained in his wheelchair, looking down at the table with his tired and unimpressed expression, opposite of Hoyt's deadpanned countenance. I know they're unimpressed with my disheveled appearance; I know I should be better.
"Sit down, son. Momma and I got a few things we have to discuss with you." Hoyt's voice spewed with condescending hues.
"You've done nothing wrong, hun, The Lord's just..challenging a bit extra us this month." Said Momma.
__________
Okay yay! You made it to the end again. I wrote this through Thomas' perspective as well as minor aspects of third-person. I was listening to 'Family Tree' and 'Hard Times' {Ethel Cain reference?} again and felt like yapping via Thomas. I'm open to feedback as I am on every post!
Much love, đ«
