Fortnight

don’t know where this is going yet but I’m having fun letting intuition drive this multimedia piece

the canvas is painted with leftover acrylic paint and molding paste from a different project, then I used paper mache newspaper as my base for the flower and twine and glue in the center

and since that first one has to dry before I can keep building on it, I started another piece too lol

I used newspaper and painters tape to form the face and then started to add paper mache newspaper to get a solid base

I’m eepy so it’s time for bed but I’m very excited about these projects

It feels really important to make weird shit right now

very disappointed that Landing is shutting down as I found it to be such a fun and easy space to make and share art

even more disappointed that they are instead going to launch a platform called Zeen where creators (specifically targeting fashion creators) can create little blog posts with their affiliate links more easily accessible

which like good for them I guess that’s something those types of creators were missing but playing off the name zine for a platform that is going to be used to sell people shit they don’t need is such a bastardization of what zines and the zine making community are for

zines don’t rely on ad space to get a message across and they are inherently diy, to name an influencer platform after them is gross

I made some fabric patches last weekend ! really happy with how they came out, thinking of adding some embroidery to them as well

“I Hate It Here” collage part 1

finished my PMDD mantras zine! the black and white background text are mini zines that I wrote when I was in the depths of PMDD hell and having a hard time accepting that it’s something I struggle with. it made me so sad reading them back and seeing how much I was struggling and seeing how I spoke about myself. In the months since, I’ve started to accept it more and started to figure out how to deal with it while I find a new doctor to discuss possible treatment. I created this zine while in my follicular phase and feeling full of life. I hope that my luteal self will use this as a physical reminder when it’s not enough to remind myself in my head. and maybe it can help you, too 🌟
