I think the Dark Angels would probably also have Watcher In The Dark plushies. They're just some little guys.
So I had this idea for some drawings I might do in the future, since my warhammer brainrot has come back.
I remember when I did a sleepy chibi Lion El'Jonhson, during a conversation with a friend, she said he needed a sleeping buddy, a lion knight plushie.
That got me thinking lately..
What if each loyalist legion has their own line of plushies for sale? Like merch!
Their main purpose is as imperium propaganda for kids, but i also thought it would be an interesting source of revenue for a chapter of space marines to have, as well as serving for comfort for the children of the Imperium since the 42nd Millenium isn't very nice all around.
However there are a few questions about the plushies that i have:
- Little space marines are the most obvious answer, but I find that a little too boring, though I think some space marine plushies probably already exist in canon
- Little animal buddies, based off ancient Terran animals and myths, but in space marine armor, while I like this idea, there's a problem with it, not all legions have a clear animal motif I can think of:
Dark Angels - Lions
White Scars - Horses (?)
Space Wolves - Wolves
Imperial Fists - ???
Blood Angels - ???
Iron Hands - ???
Ultramarines - Eagles (?)
Salamanders - Dragons
Raven Guard - Ravens/Corvids
Are they just little guys in space marine armor?
Are there different version of the plushie for different ranks?
Could the plushies each have a common trade amongst imperial citizens (like a farmer or factory worker) instructing children abt those vital roles in the functioning of the Imperium?
Or perhaps they could instruct the different jobs one might have within a space marine chapter, like apothetecary or librarian?
Maybe they each could symbolize a kind of world in the Imperium, like the Dark Angel's represents the Feudal Worlds, the Space Wolves' represent the Death Worlds, etc..?
I honestly find the last 2 ideas very interesting, but I do want to know what people think about this idea in general
Here's an image to examplify the kind of cute plushie vibe of thought these guys would have:
Thank you all for enjoying my rant about plushies and 40k ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)
Honestly, the more I think about it, the more the Templin Institute's female Space Marines video feels like something an anti-woke grifter would make. For the dark gods' and the Emperor's sake, it's titled "Female Space Marines and the Death of Canon". If someone told me to watch a video with that title, I'd expect it to be someone bitching about "how dare women exist in my totally exclusively male hobby" and how "the woke mob is trying to destroy warhammer", and not the exact opposite. The only part of the video that lines up with what I'd expect from the title is how poorly-constructed the arguments are.
I'll probably write up a proper response to the video next week when I'm on spring break, it's been weighing on me far more than it should.
Do I draw battleship Bismarck as a hot anime girl because Germans traditionally use feminine pronouns for their ships and I don't care what Nazis say?
Or do I draw Bismarck as a hot anime boy so I can draw toxic yaoi between him and French battleship Richelieu?
I like the bearded Ferrus, and I think it's hilarious how half of them look so done with everything.

You know, I can kind of see the fire prism one.
And now I want to see someone draw shipgirl-like versions of each of those tanks.
(I would but I suck at drawing)
what warhammer tank do you think is the most fuckable looking?
Objectively, the Caladius Grav-Tank is pretty and curvy and fancy, but the Hekaton Land Fortress, if that counts, is four Cs thicc at the back, which you simply can't ignore. The Fire Prism brings that "femboy packing a monster can" energy which is quite popular nowadays, and so worth consideration. The Baneblade line is obviously appealing at a surface level, but the poor ballistic skill speaks to a quantity-over-quality situation that would leave even the neediest Magos disappointed.
Goals for the tabletop space battle game I'm working on
Complex ship design with lots of math and crunchy bits
Fast, simple gameplay that doesn't require massive amounts of record-keeping.
I like ship design processes, but sometimes, I just want to get to the part where things explode. So I'm making something with both.
Reblog if you are also not a straight people.
Well, if there's a better time for me to start glazing Messages For Dad, it would be now. https://archiveofourown.org/works/21518860/chapters/51293176
That fic pretty much carries the Guillivraine ship in my eyes. It does tend to focus more on things in 30k than 40k, and it does have some other weirdness (a lot of heavily enforced gender roles in the Imperium, among other things), but it's very good, and it does take the ship seriously, and does explore the dynamics of such a relationship.
I think the reason why I dislike Guillivraine so much is because of the fact that, imo, the majority of the shippers don't really take the ship seriously themselves. Jokes about ships are fine and cool, but that's literally all I see about the ship. Not two people carrying the burden of trying to save their respective races from certain doom and feeling understood by the other. Not two people haunted and traumatized by their respective pasts. Not all the nuances and difficulties that would happen in the case of Human x Eldar relationship: diplomatic, platonic and especially romantic.
But nope. Its quite literally just a xenophilia joke to even the shippers themselves. I don't mind xenophilia jokes about human x alien relationships in 40k, but not when it's... just everything there is to the pair.
I reduced the number of broadside guns, since most battle barges have ~5 broadside guns and this one is supposed to be more carrier-oriented, added turrets, and finished the first tier of roofing.
I'm still trying to figure out cell shading, and the back section needs a lot of work, but I'm happy with my progress today.
