when snake takes miller's hand to get on the chopper in the end of ground zeroes, i wonder if he remembered the time he took the boss's hand on the bridge. back then, his world was crumbling because she was defecting, and he accepted the hand only to be broken (literally broken bones first and metaphorically in the operation snake eater in general). in ground zeroes, his world is probably crumbling again together with the oil rig, and a person who is close to him extends their hand to help him up. i wonder if he thought of it briefly before placing his trust in that person again, both times not having much choice anyway. i wonder, if he could go back in time, both to virtuous mission and ground zeroes, and if he had some other option, would he still accept the hand. both times he did it led to major changes in life and getting hurt.

ironically, the man who was a double agent stayed loyal to him in the next 9 years, and the woman who was immaculate kept her loyalties too but he felt betrayed.

finished mgs4. naomi is straight up scariest and most "evil" mgs character to me (no hate though)

in mgs1 i kind of liked her trolling snake, injecting him with foxdie and then answering his question on how much longer he can live with some vague stuff like "doesn't matter how long, you should live good". but in mgs4 she's not only a threat (which is ok, in mgs4 many people try to kill each other) but is also trying to get close to her victims feelings-wise. and when she succeeds with otacon (which ends up not even being crucial to her mission), she keeps hurting him: first dying on live stream while even holding the mk (unnecessary) to keep otacon looking at her, and while i can understand the sentiment behind enjoying other people suffering from your death, acting on it that much is a different thing; and then in her recorded message after all the business stuff she takes time to be emotional with otacon and hurt him again. it's like she's the opposite of solid snake in the sense of expressing feelings.

i was irritated by eva's constant hitting on snake in mgs3 when he clearly couldn't trust her (and for a reason) or mb wasn't interested in general, and succeeding when he was distraught by what he later admits to be a deed after which he was dead inside for the rest of his life, and using him ofc, while continuing to force herself close to him by claiming they loved each other (funny how ground zero briefing mentions that the boss was the only woman he loved). in mgs4 her views on friendship are unconventional to say the least but she's a much more loveable character, especially since it turned out she didn't plan to force big boss to stay unconscious and alive infinitely in that form to maintain jd or out of some vile sentiment.

naomi in mgs4 though is trying to get close to other characters and each time (except vamp) it screams danger and ends up being successful and true and then she openly enjoys and prolongs the suffering she caused, which is scary and evil in my book. at least she didn't hurt sunny. at least it's rude but funny how she reminds snake to die every time they talk, even in the recorded message - i was surprised that wasn't the message she passed to him in the after credits scene, but even there big boss mentioned that it's ok that the new fox die will mutate too, as long as he dies first.

that being said, mgs is not about nice and kind people and she's not a bad character, on the opposite - quite interesting one. but i'm glad i am neither snake nor otacon when it comes to interacting with her, lol.

i’ve been making metal gear reaction images for my personal use

seen a post about "yule boasting" - a tradition of publicly making "new year's resolutions" of unrealistic nature that will not be accomplished. fast google search did provide some mentions of a boasting tradition as a part of yule celebration but not enough details for me to consider the post accurate. however, i like the idea and if the yule boasting tradition didn't exist in that particular form before, now it does bc i am going to partake - feel free to join!

so, the deeds i will accomplish in 2025:

- draw the boss from metal gear smiling with joy and tenderness, a picture so good that the indomitable will itself will descend onto me and possess me, and a glimmer of it will be visible to anyone who lay eyes on the drawing

- sing 100 songs, quiet and loud, in privacy and in company of other people, friends and strangers

- please 100 ladies in sexual way, or please a lesser amount of ladies 100 times in total

- slay a number of foes in real life and thus prove myself worthy and earn the right to marry the old fashioned way

- feast on 100 meals (vegan)

- observe 100 wild beasts, big and small

- lift 100 stones (mostly small)

- read 10 good books (not 100, not that unrealistic lol)

- love 100 people: strangers, project partners, friends, romantic partners, family and foes

- find a decent and bearable reason to live that doesn't make me frustrated lol

feel free to post your own yule boasting, while arguably useless it is fun and sincere!

watched an hour long lecture on face drawing to be able to draw monsoon better... i doubted i would be able to apply any of that, but it seems it was useful to some extent

trying to learn to draw miller from mgsv and pw concept arts. i figured that the game model looks kinda goofy no matter how much i turn the quality up, and most fan arts i like are an interpretation of miller rather than a close copy, hence the 2nd pic. it was fun to draw but i will need to learn a lot for it to look decent, lol. anyway i decided to post my drawings here no matter how much or little i like them, so here it is
