Dear Lord, Watching Season 1 Episode 6 Of Rizzoli And Isles Is Reaaally A Lot To Stomach For My Little

Me actually not being able to start a TV series for years I've wanted to watch since 2018

No no you don't understand! I want to watch this show/movie, read this book, listen to this podcast, etc.! But I must be in the right mindset and the exact head space to begin, or I just can't!

Not my gay ass becoming utterly obsessed with Rizzles in 2023 - I mean, this kind of queerbaiting is torturous 😭

Please think before you comment on people's physical traits/appearance! There is NO NEED WHATSOEVER to shame, belittle or otherwise mess with someone's feelings because of something as superficial and unimportant than looks!! It's dumb, it's insensitive, it's unnecessary, uncalled for and oftentimes simply cruel.

Care for some examples?

I was walking my dogs once and stopped at a local dogpark where an elder woman started chatting to me. She was nice enough, but all of a sudden she asked why I didn't get my teeth fix. Yeah, I am 100% aware that I have crooked front teeth. I don't really care, I accept them the way they are, back then I also was not generally in a good mental state and such a comment felt downright mean and utterly out of place. Luckily, I was able to tell her as much by coolly stating that this was none of her business and that it's extremely impolite and rude to say something like that...

I've also had several occassions in my life where people told me negative things about my hair which is not only rude, but also plain racist. European, white people telling me, a PoC, that I should get another hairstyle 'cuz it would look "much better"?! I mean, do they even know what they are suggesting?! Yeah, get over it; not everybody needs to have fair, straight hair. I like my hair the way it is naturally: curly, sometimes a little messy, and whenever I dye it, I do it because I enjoy being colorful (I had it pink for quite some time), but that's my decision and no one else's business and maybe these people should take a long hard look at themselves and understand how utterly brainwashed they have been to believe that there is exactly ONE way of being beautiful/handsome/pretty.

Also, do not comment on people's weight!! Seriously?! Why is this even still a thing?! You know NOTHING about a person's history, about their eating habits, their routines, you don't know whether they are struggling with an eating disorder and you certainly don't get to decide what their body has to look like for them to like and celebrate themselves!! It's just not okay to tell someone "Oh, you used to be so thin, what happened?" or "You have lost way too much weight, it doesn't suit you at all!" or "You've grown fat since I last saw you" - CUT THAT SH*T!!

Also, you don't have to comment on other people's fashion preferences; if you don't want to wear skinny jeans or leoprints or bright neon colors or cheap shoes or wheaver, well, you are not obliged to do so, but let other people wear whatever they want and just LEAVE THEM ALONE.

"Underbelly" - this Rizzles story is a raunchy, refreshing, very rewarding (bike) ride!

Synopsis: In this very well-crafted AU exploration of our beloved Rizzles pairing, the writer has taken her chances by creating a deeply unique story about these two! It is remarked by the author that "Sons of Anarchy" was an inspiration for the plot, but as I have never watched it, I can't really comment on that.

What I CAN comment on, however, is the quality of the fic which is absolutely brilliant! It isn't exactly the slowest of slow-burns but the way the chemistry between Maura and Jane is written here is simply addictive. However, the author never fails to share with us Jane's and Maura's inner thoughts and feelings which creates the depth necessary for a truly great piece of writing.

So, in this story, we have a tattooed, wild bike rider called Jane who just got out of prison. She's a car mechanic but also belongs to the notorious "Druids" biker gang run by Paddy Doyle. Jane has grown up in this rough environment where weakness and vulnerability are almost never discussed openly - instead, people tend to get try and drink their sorrow away or have a passionate hook-up with somebody who doesn't mean anything to them so they can release tension.

Jane's whole world is about to change for the better, though, when she encounters Maura Isles, a doctor working at the hospital. They quickly fall for each other and realize that they want to be together. But Maura is an upstanding citizen who considers it very unfortunate that out of all people, gang-leader Paddy Doyle is her biological father. Jane has never learned to live by society's rules and standards and while she is determined to make her blossoming relationship to the beautiful honey-blonde work, she struggles to find constructive ways of dealing with her emotions and the Druids are like her chosen family - and her beloved younger brothers actually also belong to the gang.

This story is very entertaining to read, incredibly well-paced, and the author manages to create suspense and really pull you into this AU Rizzles version! It might not be the story for everyone as you certainly have to be willing to try out something new and unusual - in my opinion, DrScout did a great job of capturing Jane's and Maura's personalities and make the whole story work despite the challenge of having Jane be a convicted ex-felon - not many writers would be able to pull this off, yet here it is done with thoughtfulness and finesse.

Unlearning what we were taught to see as the only "correct" gaze to consume and analyze art and media... yeah, it's frigging liberating <3

Watching films with the female gaze is incredible. I have never felt more safe and seen in my life. It's like being able to truly breathe for the first time.

Jane rubbing Maura's back soothingly and showing off her chess skills so she can impress Maura... and the way Maura looks at Jane afterwards... Rizzles is real <3

I love the power Maura has over Jane. Since it was not enough to see the series, I have seen it again analyzing each part and each interaction between Maura and Jane and, I find it fascinating how maura is the boss of the relationship, Every time Jane does something Maura doesn't like she just gives her a look and Jane starts making excuses and explaining herself Which I find super interesting because she doesn't behave that way with men, she doesn't let herself be bossed around and she doesn't let them hesitate either, but instead when she's with Maura or in some case, Always defend and let Maura be the boss Also the power of conviction that Jane has over Maura In short, they are a couple, they got married in Paris and live together with bass and a son. Which is giving me an idea for a little drawing hehe I apologize for the drawings I make, I promise to upload something of quality when I have time

"Pleasure of Business" Fanfic - Smut but make it an Incredibly well written Love Story, as well!

Synopsis: Young, beautiful Piper Chapman is a businesswoman on her way up, having founded her own enterprise together with her good friend Polly, is dared by said good friend to visit a high-class, females-only sex club. She awkwardly tries to appear unimpressed but then she is approached by the owner of the establishment itself: Mysterious, sophisticated Alex Vause, who is also amazingly handsome, starts talking to the flustered newcomer and only a little while later, Piper finds herself signing a contract for lessons, err, sessions in sexual pleasure. Alex normally does not take on clients herself, but because her employees are all fully booked, she decides to make an exception (yeah, like that's the only reason Al, come on!) and thus, the two women find themselves together under the most erotic, but also kinda bizzare circumstances of having a client/mistress relationship. While Alex tries, at first, to maintain a stricly professional attitude, Piper soon finds herself absolutely smitten with the older woman who oh so expertly teaches her how to have not only highly satisfying intimate encounters, but who is also considerate, empathic and remarkably clever. The storytelling is excellent, the creative plot makes it all the more intruiging and the character development is so, so believable and really does the characters justice. And well, yeah, the smut is not to be scoffed at, either! Not everybody can write intimate scenes that are not only hooooot times ten but also depict the character's emotions and their growing feelings for each other so masterly.
