It’s well established that Clint travels through the vents in Stark Tower. What is less known, however, is the fact that on any of the Avengers’ birthdays, he drops into their room quietly and leaves a little, handmade birthday card. It details his best memories with them from the past year for them to read when they wake up.

The team may tease Steve about loving apple pie as America’s golden boy, but in reality he buys pie for Natasha so she can remember Yelena and her favourite song, Miss American Pie.

Steve used to love when Bucky would sneak into his room to warm him up during the colder nights back in the thirties and forties. Post Winter Soldier, Bucky is distant and quiet; until, one night, Steve feels the familiar weight of someone else getting into his bed. A second later, Buck’s arms encircle his waist and he nuzzles close.

“I was cold,” he murmurs. “It’s warmer in here.”

They both sleep better like this.
