Based on a quote in-game when you poke Xavier one too many times and he says he'll let you touch a plushie instead 🤭 But as we all know, Xavier being Xavier... he definitely wants MC's touch all to himself hehe
Content: Fluff, nonsexual nudity that's really just one sentence
You stumble your way to your apartment door. Colors fill your vision, and the pressure in your head makes you want to cry. You ran around Linkon City chasing potential wanderers without the chance to eat or rest all day. To make matters worse, some of the civilians affected by wanderer attacks lashed out at you for not making it to their businesses in time to prevent damage. You are beyond exhausted to the point to where you can barely speak. On your way back to the apartment building, the only form of communication you could manage with Xavier was a brief text:
I’m on my way home. Everything hurts. I just want to go to bed.
You open your door to see Xavier standing in your living room. Fairy lights twinkle across the TV and along the walls. You also see all your most comfy blankets covering the couch in front of the paused title card of your favorite movie. You look at Xavier with raised brows and your jaw slightly ajar. You don’t need to say any words for Xavier to understand what you’re thinking. “What is all this?” your expression says for you.
Xavier gives you a peck on the cheek. “Tara called to tell me what happened today, so I wanted to surprise you. You don’t have to do anything. Let me take care of you tonight.”
Before you know it, tears run down your face. You lean against Xavier’s shoulder and begin to cry. “Thank you,” you manage to whimper.
Xavier rubs your back as he embraces your sore body. “Please don’t cry, and there’s no need to thank me. I’m here for you.” Xavier leads you first to the kitchen where he has dinner waiting for you on the table. It’s not hot pot, but braised chicken wings from a local restaurant. “Eat first. You’ll feel much better after eating something.” He, then, hands you a glass of water that you down in seconds. You don’t have to worry about lifting a finger. Xavier fills your glass again and hands you utensils, napkins, whatever you need before you can even ask. You eat to your heart’s content, and your headache begins to dull.
Once you finish your meal, Xavier immediately picks you up and carries you to the bathroom. “What are you doing?” you ask.
“Helping you get a bath,” Xavier says nonchalantly. “We can’t watch the movie until we’re both comfortable in our pajamas. I’ll even wash and dry your hair for you.”
You are unable to protest. Xavier begins undressing you as he waits for water to fill the tub. You sigh in relief when he removes your shirt. Your arms are so sore that you knew you could not lift them enough to take your shirt off yourself. You could forget washing your hair. “I don’t deserve you,” you say. Xavier kneels beside you as you sit on the edge of the tub. He takes your hands into his. Your cheeks turn red when you process he is making this gesture while both of you are naked.
“I’m the one who doesn’t deserve you,” he says, his azure eyes softening even more as he meets your gaze. Your exhaustion melts away as you admire his warmth and gentleness. “You have helped me more times than I can count when I was injured while hunting. It is a privilege to do the same and more for you. My purpose in this life is to take care of you to the best of my ability.” His words touch your heart so much that you tear up from happiness a second time that night.
You and Xavier take a quick, warm bath. True to his word, he washes and dries your hair for you. He also grabs your pajamas from the bedroom, so you wouldn’t have to walk all the way over there to get them. Once the two of you are warm and dry, Xavier carries you to the couch where he tucks the two of you in under the blankets.
You lean against Xavier’s chest as you both watch the movie in silence. His warmth, the dimness of the fairy lights, a full belly, and the peace from watching your comfort movie cause you to nod off. You catch yourself from falling asleep in an attempt to stay awake, at least until the end of the movie. You don’t want this perfect night to end. Not yet. However, Xavier notices your struggle to remain conscious.
“Starlight,” he whispers, “are you ready to go to bed?”
“Nooo,” you mumble. “I want to stay awake. We have to finish the movie.” Xavier chuckles as he kisses your forehead.
“Alright, but I’m bringing you to bed the moment you fall asleep.” You really try to keep your eyes open. You want to appreciate every second of this thoughtful night that Xavier gifted to you, but, unfortunately, you are just too tired. It is about half a minute before you pass out from your exhaustion. Your body goes limp on top of Xavier, falling into a deep sleep. He caresses your face, giving you one more kiss before bringing you to bed. That night, you have the best sleep you ever had in years.
“I wondered why I was always so lonely and then I realized that I was always playing different roles for different people but I never played the role of just myself and that’s why I was lonely - the person everyone was with wasn’t actually me.”

Summary: Your 4 year old child, is fighting with their dad over you.

Life with Dr. Zayne was always interesting, to say the least. As a renowned cardiac surgeon, your husband was the epitome of composure—calm under pressure, precise in everything he did, and a man of very few words. He wasn’t cold, not at all, but he had never been particularly good at expressing himself.
Neither was your four-year-old son, Elias.
Where other children were loud and expressive, Elias was quiet—watchful and reserved, much like his father. He rarely spoke in full sentences, preferring nods, small gestures, or simple actions to communicate his wants.
And right now?
Right now, you were caught in the middle of a silent battle between the two.
Zayne, sitting on the couch beside you, reached out and lightly held your wrist, his way of silently reminding you that you were his wife first.
Elias, seated on your other side, scooted closer, grabbing your other hand and clutching it tightly.
Neither said a word.
You blinked between them, feeling the tension thickening. “Okay,” you sighed, rubbing your temple. “What is happening?”
Elias glanced at Zayne. Zayne met his son’s stare with an impassive gaze, sharp blue eyes unreadable.
It was an unspoken showdown.
Elias would get his Mama time.
Zayne would not be overthrown.
You would lose your mind.
“Zayne,” you exhaled, “you’ve been with me all day. Let Elias have some time.”
Zayne blinked. “I was at the hospital for fourteen hours.”
You frowned. “Okay, but before that—”
“I was sleeping.”
Elias suddenly gave you a tiny tug. See? He was saying. It’s my turn.
You sighed. “Alright, how about—”
But before you could finish, Elias abruptly stood up. His little hands patted Zayne’s knee—a silent gesture.
Zayne raised a brow.
“…What?”
Elias pointed toward the kitchen. “Water.”
Zayne’s brows furrowed slightly, but after a moment, he stood up and headed toward the kitchen. “Alright,” he said simply.
The moment he was out of the room, Elias moved fast.
With a determined expression, he bolted toward the door, slammed it shut, and—click!
He locked it.
You stared in shock.
Elias calmly walked back over to you, climbed onto your lap, and curled into you like nothing had happened.
You heard a soft thud from the other side of the door.
“…Elias.” Zayne’s composed voice sounded from the hall. “Unlock the door.”
Silence.
“Elias.”
Your son nuzzled into your chest, looking completely content.
You pressed a hand over your mouth, trying so hard not to laugh. “Elias,” you whispered, “that wasn’t very nice.”
Elias clung to you tighter.
“…I want Mama.”
You felt your heart melt a little.
A sigh came from behind the door. “Elias.”
Elias was completely unbothered.
“Elias,” Zayne repeated. “This is not how you solve problems.”
Elias blinked up at you, then whispered softly, “Worked.”
You snorted.
Zayne was silent for a long moment.
Then, he sighed. “Understood.”
Footsteps.
“…I’ll be in my office.”
Elias waited until the sound disappeared, then finally looked up at you, victorious.
You ruffled his dark hair. “You’re a menace, you know that?”
Elias nestled into you. “Mm.”
But you knew what that meant.
It was worth it.
The twins were on a mission.
A very important mission. A mission that required stealth, patience, and strategy.
Objective: Get rid of Dad. Target: Xavier, high-ranked Hunter of the Hunter Association—a man feared and respected by his colleagues, and annoying to his four-year-old twins, Leo and Livia.
Why?
Because he was hogging their Mama.
Xavier, for all his reputation as a ruthless Wanderer hunter, was easygoing at home. Most of the time, he lounged on the couch, half-asleep, draped over you like a human-sized cat. The whole reason he did not quit his job was because he had you at the morning aswell, when you two left the house for work.
And the twins hated it.
“Mama should be ours,” Leo whispered to his sister as they peeked from behind the couch.
Livia nodded, her greenish-blue eyes gleaming with determination. “Dad needs to go.”
The two of them turned their heads, staring at the problem.
Xavier was sitting lazily on the couch, one arm wrapped around you, face buried in your shoulder, half-asleep as usual.
You were used to it by now. Your jealous of himself, touch-starved, sleepy husband clinging to you whenever he had a break? Completely normal.
But to the twins? Unacceptable.
Phase One: Distraction.
Livia moved first. She scurried forward, grabbing your hands. “Mama, I want hugs!”
Xavier lazily cracked an eye open. His grip tightened slightly.
“I’m hugging them right now,” he murmured.
Livia pouted. “Yeah, but I want my own.”
Xavier blinked slowly, looking half a second away from falling asleep again. “…I don’t see why we can’t share.”
Leo gave his sister a look. Plan A failed. Time for Plan B.
Phase Two: Use Dad’s Weakness Against Him.
Livia stepped forward, pulling on Xavier’s sleeve. “Dad.”
Xavier yawned, rubbing his eye. “Mm?”
“Mom’s hungry.”
Your eyes widened. “Wait, no, I’m not—”
Xavier immediately sat up. “You should’ve said something earlier.”
Leo stayed perfectly calm. “You should cook dad. we all love it.”
Xavier stared at his son, silent for a long moment.
“…I should cook?”
Livia nodded furiously, her expression full of fake innocence. “Yeah, Mama loves when you cook! We love it too!”
You coughed, trying very hard not to laugh. That was a lie. The last time he cooked for the twins, a plate accidentally fell off the table and broke, and the food on the other plate mysteriously disappeared.
Xavier sucked at cooking.
Like, horribly.
The last time he cooked, he had somehow burned water. if that wasn't bad enough, he had melted the plastic off of pans you owned.
But, in his half-asleep state, he nodded. “Alright,” he muttered, standing up sluggishly. “I’ll make something.”
Mission Success.
As soon as Xavier disappeared into the kitchen, the twins latched onto you like leeches.
“Mamaaaa,” Livia whined, burying her face into your chest. “You were with Dad all day.”
Leo nodded seriously. “Unfair.”
You chuckled, ruffling their messy blond hair. “You two are too much.”
“Mama, I want all your hugs,” Livia grumbled.
“Me too,” Elias added.
You sighed, shaking your head. “You two are just like your dad.”
Just as the twins were about to settle in, the sound of something exploding came from the kitchen.
All three of you froze.
A moment later, Xavier walked back in, completely unfazed, rubbing the back of his neck.
“…I think I used the wrong burner.”
Leo and Livia groaned.
Mission Status: Failure.
I hope yall enjoyed this, I will write similar things to this in the future :)
My first fic in years. If there is any error, let me know.
Prompt: You had begged Xavier to roleplay as Lumiere. He refused multiple times until he finally gave in.
...
"Is this the meeting you had been expecting?" One of his hands on your throat while the other rested on your hip. You were trembling at his contact. You had been waiting for this moment and all your mind could think about was your husband's touch.
"Lu-lumiere!"
He even kept the mask on, you could not see him but you could feel how possessive he was getting by the second and how he was starting to enjoy it as well. Lumiere leaned forward, his lips brushing your ear, beating it.
"Is this what you like?" His grip getting stronger "You like being touched by another man, whore?"
The word sank in, it was the first time he called you that. You knew what you were asking for when you begged for him to act as Lumiere but that word, whore, strung a nerve.
"MC?" Xavier's touch lighten up as he felt you tensing up.
"I am not a whore..." A tear, then another and another. Your cheeks were now a river, tears falling into the mattress "I am not a whore" you bit your lip.
He pulled off from you, tossed that damned mask and spin you around. Maybe he had gotten a little carried away when he had hear you calling him Lumiere.
"No!" His arms wrapping around you as a cocoon "You are no whore. I am sorry..."
"You called me a whore" you were not looking at him, eyes full of tears and shame. Did he really thought that you were a whore or was something on the spur of the moment? In any case, you did not like it. "Do you think I am a whore?"
"No" he took one of your hands and kissed it, seeing that you did not pull away, he fell back on the bed "I would never think that about you" his hands traveled around your body giving you comforting squeezes "You are the most precious star in all the universe... I got jealous when I heard you call me Lumiere"
"But you are Lumiere!" You hit his chest "You shouldn't be jealous of your own self!"
Xavier sighed. How he could explain his jealousy, his love for you? He had lived for centuries, gave up his tittle for you, had see you fall in love with other man in the past, the thought of you want him to pretend to be someone else, even for one night, made his chest burst with jealousy.
He looked at you, the marks he had left in your love making, the way your skin glittered by the sweat due to all the work he had made you do, his gaze rested in yours. Your eyes shimmered with sadness, a sadness he had also put in there.
"I am Lumiere" he brushed your hair out of your face "But I don't want to be Lumiere with you. I want to be Xavier, I want for you to look at me and say my name"
Your hands reached for his, taking them to your chest. Your beating hard under his palm was a confession of your love for him.
"Xavier, I only love you" your eyes burning into his "I asked you to be Lumiere because you are Lumiere. I don't want any other man in my heart that it's not you"
Xavier's heart beat faster as the words left your lips. He should have know better, he should have already know that you were his, the wedding band on your finger should have been proof enough.
"I am sorry that I called you a whore" his hand moved to your face, brushing away the rest of the tears "How I can made it to you?" His hands rested in your hips, unsure if you would like to continue with your nightly activities.
Your lips met his cheek "I want for my husband cuddle with me until I forget Lumiere's offence... Also, get ride of the suit"
Xavier smiled, his lips looking for yours. Xavier spent of the night showing you with love until the sun came up. Lumiere's custom already forgotten in the floor.
LaDS boys reacting to you screaming at them to shut up.

• You're enjoying a much deserved break, sitting on your sofa and catching up with your games. You're finally able to log in, after it took hours to update the missing content.
• You'd taken a shower thinking it would help you pass the time, only to realise you missclicked the update button, once you came out refreshed.
• This time you made sure it started downloading before looking away.
• You decide to make a little trip to the convenience store to get some of your favourite snacks, but they were all out of it.
• Defeated, you come back home and prepare some tea, logging in and laying comfortably on the couch.
• The doorbell rings and you stand up to open it. Xavier greats you and makes himself at home. It's not that you don't want him there, but you'd spent the whole day together the day before, now you just wanted some time to think of nothing else and Xavier was someone that constantly demanded your attention.
• In the end you just go back to the couch, taking the controller and getting into your game.
• Xavier sits next to you, leaning his head on your shoulder and pressing himself into you.
• “Babe, I'm finding it difficult to play with you like this.” It comes out worse than you intended it to but he doesn't seem to register your tone. “Xav, please, just move a little.”
• He pouts and moves away. You sit back and get into a battle that makes you want to throw the controller at your screen. Your builds are all wrong for this one and you can't seem to find what's the problem.
• Feeling completely ignored, Xavier stands up and walks away. You feel him move but pay no attention to it, your focus on the task at hand.
• Sudden noises come in from the kitchen, his voice going “oh no, no nononono-” your patience is running low and the day hasn't been playing into your favour.
• “SHUT UP!” You scream at him, storming into the kitchen. You see his stunned face, but the state of your kitchen only senda you over the edge. You take a deep breath, calming yourself down. “Please, leave.”
• He leaves, defeated and still processing your outburst. You've never raised your voice at him like this. You don't go back to your game, instead take the time to cool down by cleaning the kitchen
• You notice the ingredients and realise he'd been trying to bake your favourite cookies. You sigh deeply, your heart clenching at his mindfulness. You shouldn't have screamed at him like that.
• As you finally sit back into the couch, the doorbell rings once again. It's him again. You open the door and look at him regretfully. “I'm so sorry Xav, I shouldn't have-” he cuts you off with a bear hug. “It's fine. You're clearly having a bad day and I'm definitely not helping out.” Pulling away, he tugs you in, gently guiding you to the couch.
• “Here.” He hands you a grocery bag. “What's this?” you look into the bag to find your favourite snack and some coffee cans, the kind that you usually have. You look up at him. All the frustrations and feelings from the day washing over you, making your eyes water instantly.
• He sits next to you and pulls you in for a warm hug, patting your head. “It's fine, take it all out.” Once you're finished, you go to wash your face. When you come back you see Xavier with the controller in hand, checking your teams. “Have you not set the artifacts back to the correct characters after last time?” suddenly you remember the bet you made with him the last time you played. You'd mixed up the characters’ builds to see who would win against more bosses like that.

You had invited Xavier to come over to watch a movie, taking advantage of his day off. It was a regular activity you'd adopted since you'd become close after so much time being neighbors and coworkers. While you were in charge of cooking —since you didn't fully trust Xavier's cooking skills—, he was in charge of buying drinks and some snacks for the movie.
While you were waiting for Xavier to arrive, you decided to take a quick shower. You made sure to send him a text letting him know he could come in freely to get comfortable until you were done.
Xavier always made sure to bring your favorite snack or dessert as compensation for you always cooking something delicious for him. He usually didn't pay too much attention to what he ate, too busy hunting Wanderers and sleeping, only eating instant noodles and simple dishes that Xavier managed to cook without making a mess, or just go to a hot pot restaurant if he didn't feel like settling for his poor cooking. Every time you invited him over to eat was like a gift to him.
He entered your apartment silently, one of his hands carrying a bag with snacks and drinks to share with you during the movie. The other was holding his phone, still with your chat on the screen. Knowing that you were busy taking a shower, he walked to your living room and settled on the couch to wait for you.
He wasn't a nosy person, he respected your privacy a lot even when sometimes he was dying to know what was going on in your mind. So, whatever kind of secret you had, he would respect it because he knew you would tell him when you felt comfortable enough.
When he saw the open notebook on the table next to the sofa, he couldn't help but feel curious. He didn't think it was something private considering it was open, it's content revealed to anyone to see.
He picked it up with curiosity and looked at it carefully. It was a scruffy, plain notebook, nothing flashy. Xavier remembered having seen that notebook in the past: In a cafeteria where you two had agreed to go, you were absentmindedly writing in that notebook, oblivious to Xavier's gaze, and when he reached your side, you smiled at him and closed the notebook immediately. Or when he saw you by chance in a plaza, you were eating some donuts while your eyes focused on the notebook and your hand moved non-stop. That time Xavier didn't make you stop writing, it was you who stopped writing, putting away the notebook and grabbing your things before looking up and encountering his gaze.
It was inevitable that he felt curious about the content. What was it that had you so focused on writing? He thought he might come across lists, date reminders, or things like that. Maybe even some drawing. But what he found were pages full of text, some scratches and corrections here and there. Your handwriting varied in shape and size, sometimes clear and neat, other times sloppy, abrupt, and confusing.
Despite how overwhelming the interior looked, Xavier tried to read the first line of a paragraph.
«He is kind, gentle, and chivalrous. He easily attracts attention even when he doesn't mean to. People couldn't help but gravitate toward him like moths to a flame. Akira was simply exceptional».
Nothing in that paragraph had caught his attention until he read what followed.
«Maybe that's why I liked him so much».
He stared at the text, reading that last line over and over again. It was as if he couldn't quite comprehend what he was reading, as if the words didn't quite make sense. When he was finally convinced that what he was reading was not a product of his imagination, he began to read a few more lines.
«I liked to take advantage of any situation to be by his side. He was dense enough not to notice my intentions.»
«One of my favorite places is the beach when it's about to rain. I realized that's the exact color of her eyes. Other times they were the color of the starry night sky.»
«...and his lips were the most tempting thing the universe could have created.»
Many things went through Xavier's head too quickly, thoughts that merged together and were too confusing to say out loud. Only one thing stood out from all his mental chaos.
Who is Akira?
His mind tried to recall all the workers he remembered from the Association. He tried to remember if he had ever read Akira's name anywhere or heard it in conversation. After failing at that, he tried to remember if any neighbors in the building had that name, maybe someone he hadn't met but you had. The more he searched, the less he found.
By the time you got out of the shower and walked back into the living room, dressed and arranged comfortably, Xavier had a thoughtful expression, the closed notebook on the table next to the sofa.
“Hey,” you greeted him with a smile and approached the small table to see the contents of the bag he had brought. “As expected of you, you brought my favorite.”
You called him to come to the dining room, since you had left the food ready for when he arrived.
He didn't move.
“Xavier?” You called.
It took him a moment to snap out of his thoughtful state.
“Oh. Coming.”
You ate and talked peacefully, you asked him questions from time to time and he answered gently and kindly. Still, it was inevitable to feel that his responses were more careful than usual.
Once you settled in to watch the movie, Xavier took on a serious expression that was out of place considering the movie was mostly a comedy. Still, you didn't question it, you knew Xavier was sometimes strange in his own way, so you didn't think anything of it.
After a few minutes of the film, Xavier was unable to hold it any longer. Although the way he started the conversation wasn't... subtle.
“Do you like someone?”
You turned to look at him instantly, unable to believe that he had actually asked something like that out of the blue.
“What?”
For some reason, that answer irritated him. He wanted to ask you so many things. Ask you about that "Akira" you mentioned so often in your notebook, ask you if you truly meant everything you said in those pages. Ask you if it were true, what you thought of him. Did you see him as just a friend? Coworker? Neighbor?
Suddenly he realized how easy it was to lose you over something as mundane as you falling in love with someone other than him. It was like a punch in the stomach when he realized he might have already lost you.
For a second, he had a flashback to a conversation in the past, who knows how many years ago.
You saying that maybe you had fallen in love with someone, him replying that it was a good thing. You asking if he wasn't curious to know who it was, and him having to take a moment to say that it didn't matter, that he was happy for you.
Too guilty for not being honest with you.
Too jealous to accept that someone else had your heart.
“Do you like someone?” He asked again, unable to continue thinking about how unpleasant the feeling of deja vu was.
“Where does that question come from?” You laughed and he felt more irritation and his stomach turn over.
Was that a yes?
“Lately I've noticed certain things,” he lied. He was good at lying, he had been doing it for a long time. He was especially good at lying to you, unfortunately. “You smile more, your eyes sparkle... and we watch more romantic movies than usual.”
He said the last thing while pointing at the television with his chin. The main couple was in the middle of a romantic scene, looking at each other affectionately and sharing smiles.
“Oh,” you said. “I hadn't realized that.”
Again, an answer he didn't like.
“So? Is that a yes?” He settled back on the couch, turning his body to look directly at you. “Who’s the lucky one?”
You laughed again, leaning over the living room table to reach for a snack. Xavier pressed his lips together.
You weren't taking him seriously.
“I have no idea how you came to that conclusion, but I assure you there is no one.” You smiled at him sincerely. “It’s all just a coincidence.”
Lie.
The fact that you didn't want to tell him directly was another blow to the gut. You didn't trust him? You didn't want him to know? Why?
There was a silence in which only the movie could be heard. Xavier was no longer listening and you only paid half attention to it. Then he spoke again.
“Who is Akira?”
When those words left his mouth, he immediately regretted saying them because he knew he had sounded desperate.
Until he saw the change in your expression. You didn't laugh. Your smile froze and there was something in your eyes that confirmed he had asked the right thing.
He saw alarm.
“Who?” You asked, but instead of genuine confusion, he heard caution.
You knew who he was talking about.
“Akira.” He responded softly, his eyes focused on you, looking for more information with any change in your expression.
“Where did you hear that name?”
Faced with that question, Xavier had the decency to look away and look embarrassed. What was he supposed to tell you? That he'd snooped through your notebook without your permission while you weren't looking? What would that say about him? That would only prove you right that he was not trustworthy.
He couldn't bear the thought of breaking your trust. Not again.
Your gaze quickly searched for the table next to the sofa that was behind Xavier. It was closed, but you couldn't help but press your lips together, tense that it was within his reach.
As Xavier looked away, you stood up from the couch and leaned towards him. He immediately turned his gaze to you, eyes wide open as he watched you come closer. However, when he saw you step back with the notebook in your hand, he looked away.
“Xavier...” You kept your gaze on your notebook, your hands gripping it tightly. After a moment, you looked up at him, tense. “Did you read my notebook?”
Xavier swallowed before looking at you.
“It... wasn’t my intention.” He told you with sincerity and heaviness.
Again you two fell silent. The film had been completely forgotten by both of you. You looked at Xavier like you didn't believe he was real and he looked at you like you were about to break his heart.
Then, against all odds, you laughed.
“My god,” you gasped, staring at the ceiling in disbelief. “How embarrassing.”
That wasn't the reaction he was expecting. He looked at you in confusion as you shook your head and looked back at him.
“It’s not what you think,” you said confidently. “I don’t like any Akira.”
It took Xavier a moment to respond.
“I read—”
“Yeah, I know.” You laughed again, this time rubbing your face with one hand. When you pulled away and Xavier could see your face again, he saw the slight blush on your cheeks. “But what you read isn't my secret diary or anything like that. It’s my writing notebook.”
Xavier remained silent, processing your answer. He went over your words again and again until he finally registered their weight.
“Writing notebook?”
“Yeah,” you nod. “A notebook where I write down spontaneous ideas I have to write stories or longer projects in the future.”
Xavier continued to look at you intently as you opened the notebook to the first pages.
“Here’s my character index,” you explained as you carefully showed him the pages. “Akira is one of them. One of the main ones, in fact.” You flipped more pages to the middle and showed him more messy text. “These are ideas that come to me out of nowhere. Sometimes they're full scenes, other times they're thoughts of a specific character.”
You looked up with a small smile.
“What you read were the thoughts of my main character about him at the climax of the story.”
With those words, Xavier breathed again. He let out a shaky sigh and looked away from your face. It was as if an invisible weight had been lifted from his shoulders and he couldn't help but bring his fist to his lips in an attempt to hide his embarrassed expression.
“I thought that—” He said but stopped, thinking that maybe what he said would only embarrass him more.
This time you laughed out loud as Xavier tried to hide his embarrassment by grabbing a snack from the table. He ate without looking at you, incredulous that his apparent rival was a product of your imagination.
“Why were you so curious to know if I liked Akira?” You asked between laughs, still not wanting to drop the subject.
“I just—” He took a moment to answer. “I was curious to know who was the person that you wrote so passionately about.”
“Mmh...”
Entertained to see this side of Xavier, you decided to tease him a little.
“Well, do you wanna know a secret?” You leaned closer to him, voice quiet. “Akira is inspired by a real person.”
That was enough to get his attention. He looked at you again, his eyes fixed on you, attentive, alert, with tension ready to creep into his bones.
“Who?”
“Nope!” You shook your head. “That's a secret!”
You crossed your arms and raised your chin with a definitive gesture, giving drama to your words. Faced with his silence, you couldn't help but glance at him and seeing his expression —as if ready to seek out the one who had inspired such passionate writing—, you smiled at him.
“He is the most trusted and important person in the world to me. I am grateful to the universe for sending me such a wonderful star by my side.”
And your smile —Gods, your smile— was all he needed to realize your words. It felt like a shared secret. Like a confession.
His frown relaxed and he opened his mouth to speak, although at first he was unable to do so.
“Am I...?”
“The movie!” You turned your full attention back to the television, too embarrassed to give him any more information than you had already.
Xavier didn't need anything else to understand, not when he saw the blush on your face and the way you were trying so desperately to distance yourself talking about the movie and interesting facts about it.
He let out a chuckle that made you blush even more and made you think that maybe you had shared much away. However, Xavier simply adjusted himself so that he was sitting closer to you and his pinky finger brushed against yours on the couch.
“I'd love to read more of... your main character's thoughts about ‘Akira’,” he said with a warm and sincere smile.
Xavier definitely wouldn't leave you alone until he had read absolutely everything you had written in your notebook, until you told him how or why you made certain decisions and, especially, why didn't you just use his name instead of Akira's.
“Why did you name him Akira?”
“I didn't want to name him like anyone I knew.”
“You could just use my name, you know. I would prefer that you... your main character thinks all that about me and not a stranger.”
“Stop—”

A/N: Thank you for reading! I might write more about writer!reader with the other LIs. I'd appreciate any type of ideas for future fics ;>
The night is still young... and here i am sitting and rethinking everything ... i love xavier... and like him before i even played the game and i couldn't pin point exactly what drew me to him the most .. even after sylus and caleb came out ... i am loyal to this man ... a bit too much
And now i can play the game and ya .. just..
It is very well written about his characteristics and his personality and i do know and have seen to tumblr how people mischaracterize him ..
Well.. after everything .. the man underneath all the mask is who i resonate and relate to and love as well.. even if he is a game character .. he bring comfort and joy to me and lightens up my day even if by 10 per cent ..
I would say.. this man is also an introvert and doesnt really like talking about himself therefore ..
The original person whose writing i am reblogging
Hats off in trying to understand him and put it so beautifully in words ...
Enjoy my rant about this man
As much as I also laugh and joke about Xavier being jealous of Lumiere, I also absolutely get it. So be prepared because I have THOUGHTS.
✨ In defense of Xavier ✨
I cannot speak for all his jealousy, but I can speak on my own interpretation. Unfortunately, since I joined in October, I completely missed his Lumiere myth. I also don’t want to spoil myself too much in case I get the rerun, so some of this is just my own interpretation based on his character.
But I don’t think Xavier is explicitly jealous of *himself,* guys. I think when he asks “Who do you like more, me or Lumiere?” He’s not asking it literally. He is asking the main character, he is asking us as the player, “Do you like me or do you like the mask I wear?”
Now, I’m biased. I actually wrote a drabble on this concept for Victoria with her first (and still canon!) love interest from Ninjago, Lloyd. There’s some character parallels here I won’t go into detail with. But that was a topic the two had to navigate at first. Being the object of so many peoples’ affections while in an alter ego can absolutely raise a lot of questions. And in this example, Lloyd was wondering if Victoria was in love with the persona he has to put up for public perception, or the person he truly was. Of course Victoria loved him for him, not for the mask.
I think Xavier is doing the same here.
Xavier is a crown prince. He’s a vigilante. He’s a hero. But at the end of the day he is XAVIER. He’s gone through so many jobs, so many roles, he’s worn down many different masks. Someone falling in love with the mask is the last thing he wants. I was discussing this with my therapist the other day, that’s something that drew me to both Rafayel and Xavier.
They both have masks, literal and figurative, that they hide behind. Falling in love with the mask does nothing. It’s the person underneath that’s more important. It’s why Rafayel asks “Will you still love me, no matter who I become?” It’s why Xavier asks who the main character prefers, him or Lumiere. It speaks to my own life as someone placed on a pedestal, constantly wearing a mask of perfection and untouchability. It irritates me when people claim to have feelings for me when they haven’t found the person behind the mask. It shows they’ve fallen in love with an idea of me, not with who I am as a person.
I’ll gladly make jokes about his own jealousy too, but there’s a lot more to it. It frustrates me to see all of the love interests mischaracterized or even outright demonized.
So, in defense of Xavier, when he asks if you like him or Lumiere more, keep in mind.
Are you in love with the man, or the mask?
Details: 600 words. Feel good food. Fluff. Tender, wonderful, caring, loving Caleb during that time of month. It actually fits if you just want a lil pampering from our boy too. Get you a man who can do both *cries* this is for you @gavin3469
You barely make it through the door before exhaustion weighs you down. The day had been long, and your body felt like it was fighting against you, every step home a battle you barely won. You had considered stopping by the store, picking up something to comfort yourself, but the thought of carrying even the lightest of bags felt impossible. You just wanted to collapse, to sink into something warm and safe and let the world fade away for a while.
You sigh as you unlock it, expecting nothing more than the quiet stillness of your apartment. But the moment you step inside, warmth greets you like an embrace. The air smells of apples and vanilla, and the soft flicker of candlelight casts golden glows against the walls. There’s something else too—something that smells like summer, fresh and inviting.
“Hello?” you call out weakly, toeing off your shoes.
No answer.
Your brows knit together as you shrug off your coat, your tired brain sluggishly trying to recall whether you had left any candles burning this morning. But then you see him.
Caleb stands in the kitchen, completely oblivious to your arrival, airpods in as he chops vegetables with effortless precision. His movements are fluid, a rhythm all his own, the steady thunk of the knife against the cutting board matching the beat of whatever music he’s lost in. He sways as he works, shifting his weight, rolling his shoulders in time with the sound only he can hear. It’s not forced, not even intentional—just an unconscious, easy sort of grace.
But that isn’t what takes your breath away.
Across the living room, near the couch, sits an enormous cube of heaven—a down duvet, the kind that screams luxury, thick and impossibly soft. A massive ribbon is tied around it, wrapped so perfectly it looks like a gift for a special occasion—something you’d dreamed of unwrapping on your birthday, carefully chosen just for you—rather than just Caleb being Caleb. The sight of it—of the effort, the quiet, knowing care behind it—makes something ache deep in your chest.
Caleb’s head lifts, eyes widening briefly in surprise, and then, in an instant, he sets the knife aside and crosses the room with the kind of intent that makes your heart stutter. He doesn’t hesitate, doesn’t ask—just gathers you into his arms, pulling you close, holding you like he’s been waiting for this moment all day. His warmth envelops you, deep and unwavering, the kind that seeps into your bones, making the exhaustion, the ache, the weight of the entire day fade into nothing.
The whole world disappears—there is only this, only him. His chest rises and falls beneath your cheek as he exhales, his lips pressing softly to your hair, lingering there as if he’s just as relieved to have you home as you are to be here. His hand slides down your shoulder, fingers squeezing lightly, grounding you in a way that feels like safety, like home.
“How has your day been, dear?” he murmurs, voice low and filled with quiet affection. “I’m so happy to see you.”
The words break something loose in you, and before you can stop yourself, your eyes well up. Maybe it’s the exhaustion, the pain that’s been gnawing at you all day, or maybe it’s just him—the thoughtfulness, the way he always seems to know exactly what you need before you do. His hands find your cheeks, thumbs brushing away tears before they can fall, and he presses the softest kiss to your forehead.
“Hey, hey,” he soothes, voice barely above a whisper. “I got you. You don’t have to do anything tonight. Just let me take care of you.”
You exhale shakily, leaning into his touch, grounding yourself in the quiet strength of him.
Then, as if reading your mind, he grins and tilts his head toward the couch. “Wanna try out your new duvet? Bet you won’t wanna leave it once you do.”
A laugh bubbles up despite yourself, and for the first time all day, the heaviness in your chest lifts just a little.
You nod, unable to find words, and Caleb grins before pressing a soft kiss to your temple. He takes your hand and leads you toward the couch—toward warmth, comfort, and the unwavering truth that, in this moment, you are the only thing in the world that matters.
