quick sketch of lafayette and nid before i go to bed!! i love simple styles.
also here’s laf’s illustration of nid for their personnel file (amalgamated constructs can’t be photographed well because they’re of demonic substance):
Okay something I gotta know. Eliza's helmet (full armor set as well) has always been very fascinating to me and I've always gravitated towards its design.
Is it based off a kettle helmet, a sallet or a combination of both?
Both! It's based on a kettle sallet, though I definitely fancied it up a good bit. I love these weird things.
Did that shirt cut meme that’s been floating around Twitter, Liz flavored. Did I do this right?
1962 republic manual on demonic constructs
Amalgamated constructs, or corpse dragons, are a class of demonic units valued for their physical malleability and human level intelligence. They are utilized in standard military operations by most countries, typically supporting human squadrons.
Like most constructs, they consist of colonies of microscopic demons, but their binding core is the cadaver of a drowned magician. Although their deployment in warfare is controversial and has been condemned by the United Nations since 1956, the practice is still technically legal.
I will cherish this for as long as I live, it has brought me so much joy.
what the fuck is it, sans
Fun fact about the Chozo Soldiers: the model for the boss in Elun (specifically the cutscene version) is the only one for whom changing the color of the eyes is an easy task.
In the cutscene, the soldier sits dormant atop a pile of rubble and corpses. The eyes are black when Samus walks in the room. Then the camera zooms in on the soldier's face and they begin to glow white.
The mesh for the boss in Elun has a component that the other soldiers don't have: a little segment over the eyes that controls the color.
The Elite Soldier from the shipyard doesn't have that.
You'd need the model from quarantine if you sought to change the color of the eyes. Aside from that, the models for the different Chozo Soldiers are mostly the same, so you could take the textures for the ChozoSoldier (black) ChozoSoldierNormal (red) and EliteChozoSoldier (gold) and apply them interchangeably to whichever model you've exported from the files.
While we're on the subject, I might as well show you some concept art!
