OHOH okay okay so. little disclaimer i have almost NOOO memories of the quinx as saiko and even then only of the og members heh. so i'll only go over them
haise - the bestest mom i EVERRR had. i don't care that he's a dude i mean LOOJ AT HIM!!! that's mom right there. i love him he's the only one i told i'm a half ghoul
mutsi - THE goat. the only one that REALLY got me because i was transmasc as well. i mean i looked like a girl and used she/her but i didn't mind it so not a lot of people knew. i WAS open about it though
kuki - didn't like him. tbh. he was silly to make fun of but i feel like he ALWAYSSSS had a stick up his ass. never met anyone allergic to joy and whimsy like that
shira - GOATTTT didn't talk to him a lot but when i did it was SOO much fun. the peakerrrr. he sucks at psp games though

think about it. it's not just obvious examples like shooters and war games or post-nuclear-apocalypse games such as fallout or metro drawing inspiration from the cold war.
science fiction was born from the space race. you know, star wars, 2001: a space odyssey, space invaders, spacewar!, all that? why do you think they all came into existence shortly before or after the moon landing? 14% of the world's population watched that, by the way. crazy. especially considering how tvs were only starting to become mainstream. dystopian sci-fi comes from the aforementioned idea of dealing with the end of the world. zombies are a spin-off from that idea.
the sense of "us vs them" also drew heavy inspiration from the whole point of the cold war. it's us, the americans, and the russians. east and west (after the end of world war II, the world was split into two. east and west. this marked the beginning of the cold war. ☝️🐍) (sorry, had to. autism). individualism and collectivism. capitalism and communism. blue and red. the "enemy" commonly being associated with red is not a coincidence, even if some may argue that red is common as a color associated with danger or attention, which isn't necessarily wrong either. still, there is an origin to this color-coding.
think about common arche- and stereotypes. the big, burly russian speaking in broken english, swearing eternal loyalty to the motherland? the stupid, loudmouthed, burger-munching american? you can find them in team fortress 2, several fighting games that i can't name off the top of my head, you're welcome to give me examples though, you get the picture.
and nuclear disasters, a push of a button away. nuclear deterrence. nuclear arms race. do i do nothing? do i scare my opponent away with my nukes? or do i risk getting struck pre-emptively? should i strike pre-emptively? what is the point in war? soooo many games play with that idea, my favorite being the metal gear franchise.
where was i going with this. oh yeah.
the whole thing of politics not existing in video games? IT'S BULLSHIT. THE CONCEPT OF VIDEO GAMES, COMPUTERS AND THE INTERNET WHICH I AM POSTING THIS ON, IS POLITICAL IN ITSELF. WITHOUT WWII, ALAN TURING AND THE COLD WAR, SCIENCE WOULD BE OVER A CENTURY BEHIND. anyone who says "keep that faggot woke gay homo tranny politics business out of video games" horseshit is a STINKIN' FUCKING BIGOT and probably a fascist too. and definitely just straight up really fucking stupid
i didn't intend on this to get this long. thanks for read
i need to videogamepost more becausr i am normal about video games as a concept andcan be trusted not to send walls of text about a rarely mentioned but significant element within said concept such as the Cold War's Influence on the Existence of Video Games As A Whole
