my dad just lent me his copy of All Quiet On The Western Front- can’t wait to be absolutely devastated by the book
"What could he do, should've been a father but he never made it to his twenties. What a waste, army dreamers. Ooh, what a waste of army dreamers" I've recently been watching some war films for research purposes for a short film project I'm hoping to complete by the end of the year, of course, All Quiet on the Western Front is my favorite movie, I've seen the 1930s one before but never gotten around to the 2022 one. It's possibly one of my favorite films ever and I've never sobbed as much, I've brought the book as well and will be reading it over the week. Volker Bertelmann will pay for my therapy bills because this movie's score is hauntingly beautiful and fills me with such grief. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it <3

I had a few things planned but got assassinated by cramps while doing the dishes in the morning. So I took it easy instead, ran some errands, ate some things, played Sims.
I also watched All Quiet on the Western Front and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about this movie. I think I'll make a post talking about my feelings towards the movie as well as the book at some point next week.
Positive Things I did today:
ran errands
did the dishes
watched All Quiet on the Western Front
went on a late night walk
called a friend
Hours slept: ~6hrs 40mins Screentime: ~2hrs 40mins Steps taken: ~16.700
I just finished reading All Quiet on the Western Front and I have so many thoughts and feelings, I don't know where to put them, what to do with them, how to deal with them.

10% done with the challange!
I finally got to analyzing the poem I wanna write my essay on. I had a blast! I love writing essays and enjoy pretty much every step of the process, but working with primary texts still is my favourite. It reminds me why I decided to study English literature.
I also continued reading All Quiet on the Western Front. I really love this book and should manage to finish it by the end of the week. Maybe I'll check out some of Remarque's other books!
Positive things I did today:
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going
studied at the library
went for a walk
read outside
went to a café to relax after studying
Hours slept: ~9hrs 3mins Screentime: 3hrs 30mins Steps taken: ~6.600

This has turned from a getting my life together challenge into a 'How can I fuel my Cillian Murphy obsession most efficiently?' challenge. Needless to say, I continued watching Peaky Blinders with my friend (daily Tommy Time, as we like to call it). But that's okay, because this Tuesday was rest day and now I am rested and shall try to get back into the groove.
I also recently found out about the Magical Readathon hosted by Book Roast over on YouTube. I doubt I'll actualy finish it, but I'll at least try to make use of the reading motivation I got from it. So far I've read the first 60 or so pages if Im Westen nichts neues (All Quiet on the Western Front in English). I really like it so far. It's sad (obviously) but I like that in books. And once I've finished it I can also finally watch the movie.
Positive things I did today:
kept the duolingo Spanish streak going
cooked two warm meals
went for a walk and read at a café
finished season 1 and started season 2 of Peaky Blinders with my friend
Hours slept: ~9hrs Screentime: 7hrs 30mins (how did I spend 4hrs on WhatsApp??) Steps taken: ~5.600
Because one thing has become clear to me: you can cope with all the horror as long as you simply duck thinking about it – but it will kill you if you try to come to terms with it.

I'm still sitting here and you are still lying there, and there are so many things we should say to each other, but we shall never be able to.

i'm not even going to make a proper post i'm just leaving this here for y'all
hey guys i'm listening to opera and struggling real bad with drawing this week
revisiting an old one
dem vaterland zuliebe
leaking the complete lineart to make you guys feel special
sketching bits from today
eh good enough
i need to start working on textures and midtones so that the style for this bloody comic finally starts taking shape at some point but my software keeps crashing after the lineart and i've got no idea what i want it to look like :/
sketch vs lineart
having creativity as a core psychological need really sucks because i haven't had the time to draw anything for a month and a half due to masses of work and i suddenly felt extremely hollow when the thought finally sank in. in that regard, i'm sorry to say i am not sure when my next post will be
anyway leaking some poilus i'm going to include in a big section (mainly comprising of character archetypes, gear and uniform turnarounds, weapon studies of the french army)
damn, i was born too late to witness all quiet getting banned somewhere for antiwar and antimilitary sentiments, at least i was born just in time to witness all quiet getting banned somewhere for antiwar and antimilitary sentiments tho
Hi this might be stupid! But where can I find your comic I see mentioned? ^^ Thank you!
heyyy anon, so the aforementioned comic is a currently ongoing project in its rough beginning stages, so it's not available anywhere as of now.
i hope i am of better help with this question in the future, however feel free to ask about anything related to the process!!
