Summary: “On the east coast of the US, there is a small town called Anywhere, where some of our favorite fictional characters keep washing up on the beach, often injured, with no memory of where they came from and who they are, the only clues to their past identities being the clothes they washed up in, their own names, and the strange feelings and dreams they occasionally have. Soon enough, they settle into their new life, but the questions still remain: who were they? And why are they here?”

I don't know about you, but I'm going to love messing with the new fans the Percy Jackson show will bring.
Rick : *yeets Solangelo Solo Book at Us
I have reached the point where every fictional character is bisexual until proved otherwise.
I'm not talking 'what if Sadie was the elder sibling' or 'what if Carter stayed with the Fausts' (which would be impossible, as explained later). I'm saying, what if Carter looked like Ruby, their mom, and Sadie looked like Julius, their dad? Imagine Carter Kane before the first book, our nerdy, obedient, geek of a boy dressed in a button down shirt and slacks, always following up with a suitcase in one hand and NBA stats on the tip of his tongue...with the curliest blonde hair you've ever seen and light skin and eyes blue enough to rival the sky? Imagine Sadie Kane before the first book, our rebellious, confident girl with combat boots and attitude ready for absolutely anything...with red streaks in brown hair and dark brown skin and warm brown eyes that are always filled with fire?
It's always specified in the books that Carter was discriminated against and his dad always told him to dress properly to never give anyone an excuse to be racist. Even if Carter wasn't dark anymore, I'm pretty sure Julius would still want his son dressed impeccably. And the fact that people always got confused when Sadie, Carter and their dad went out (is heartbreaking) doesn't change. It just becomes more frequent, seeing as Carter, who looks like his mum, is with his dad permanently. Everyone they met, at dig sites, museums, ceremonies, hotels, would be confused for a split second. And Carter, honestly, would go through what Sadie describes in the Red Pyramid. An African-American who doesn't look African. And for Sadie, well, that's another story altogether. It's specified rather clearly in the books that the Fausts never liked Carter because he resembled his dad. Can you imagine them getting Sadie, who is only one gamete short of being a carbon copy of her dad? I'm not saying they'd hate her. I trust them enough (I hope think) to still love Sadie because she has her mother's spirit and Ruby is really reflected in our little Kane girl. But I can imagine them flinching every time they see Sadie and her dad standing together, because damn, they look similar. They wouldn't hate her, but a part of them would never truly accept her. And she'd still be as rebellious as ever. Blue streaks in the midst of chocolate coloured hair? She's up for it. But then, instead of Carter, she'd go through the racism that Rick's described. (I am purely quoting the Red Pyramid here, because I personally have no experience of racism and don't want to comment much on something I don't know much about). But she would have to face it.
In summary, the idea just seems really cool to me, and yes, I believe that the House of Life would still influence the court case and give Carter to Julius, since he's the elder one, regardless of any skin tone. It would just be cool to see Sadie vibing with their mom while looking like her dad and Carter and their dad travelling the world, proving stereotypes wrong and being an amazing biracial father son duo.
This is a Bad Boy/Good Girl AU, but Sadie is the Bad Boy and Drew the good girl, because I hate a girl just being the Mean Girl, and Sadie hates her because she is “plastic”, she literally calls her and her friends “plastic bags”.
Sadie just moved to New York, after her mother’s dead she was raised by her grandparents, but they were to old to take good care of her, and Julius regains custody, she is angry, and makes a lot of trouble in the new school, she dyes her hair, wears leather jackets and combat boots, a lot of eyeliner, haves piercings, and sneak out of the house.
Drew is the Queen, the cheerleader, good at school, and everybody just loves her.
Sadie gets in the middle of a fight the first week, punching a guy who was making fun of a girl, she beats the guy and everybody is surprised, in the house Julius grounds her, but she ran away.
In a park near home Sadie meets Drew, she is alone, they talk, and become friends.
In the school Sadie is an asshole with everybody, she is isolated, the school counselor tries to speak to her, but she avoids talking, she haves more fights, some more public than others, in the house everything is a mess.
But she talks a lot with Drew, she is the only friend of Sadie, but every time they are together, both of them end in trouble, when Sadie burns the chemistry lab and they were partners, or the time they start a food fight, or steal Julius’ car, Drew’s parents thinks Sadie is a really bad influence, and forbid their daughter to befriend Sadie.
One day, they are at the park, Sadie had a pretty bad fight with Julius and Carter, she is angry, and steals alcohol from her father, Drew is there, Sadie starts to drink, and Drew follows her, when both are a little bit tipsy Sadie kiss her, the police arrives, because Julius asked Amos, who is a police officer, to find Sadie, and they both are dragged to the police station.
Sadie, Carter and Julius have an emotional moment, when they talk about their emotions, and promise to be a better with each other.
Drew is angry with Sadie, so she makes a big gesture to ask for forgiveness, idk, a big bouquet, chocolates, singing a song, maybe a little bit cringey but sweet and cute.
They date, Sadie works hard to gain the acceptance of Drew’s parents, the end.

im gonna be real here - making the TKC movies and PJO show(s) live action is a huge mistake on Netflix/Disney’s part.
Like, we get it, you want this adaptation to be the next Harry Potter or Stranger Things or whatever, but after such horrible live-action PJO movies the fans are inherently inclined to hate live-action adaptations, plus it just has completely the wrong tones for the universe. There’s too much CGI they’re going to have to do for powers and creatures and everything that unless they’ve really got this and probably use a lot of practical effects, it’s going to look weird and probably outdated within a couple years.
And unless they have a really tight filming schedule, or they don’t use younger actors (which is probably going to piss off the fanbase, because the characters being young teens is kind of a major point of the series), then the actors are going to age too much between sections and it’s not going to be easy to find other actors to play the same characters. With animation if their voices change too much you can get voice doubles or just re-record stuff! It’d make everyone’s lives so much easier and also just in general the production would probably be cheaper and age better.
“But then it won’t appeal to as wide of an audience-” It’s a book series aimed at MIDDLE SCHOOLERS! You’re not going to get a wide adult audience unless they’re watching it for nostalgia! It’s just an inherent part of the series! Your audience is middle schoolers and high schoolers and yes they’ll watch animation how do you think Cartoon Network has survived this long. Plus if you try to “age it up” too much you’ll loose too much of that middle school audience that makes up the majority of your demographic here AND the older fans will be pissed off again.
@ Disney, @netflix @ Rick: Just. Animate it. Just animate it. Animate both.
They spend a lot of time in the library. Like a lot. Everyone thinks they're making out but they're just having really long conversations about books and life and everything else.
They love walking around the mall together. Carter shows her his favourite spots and tells her stories of travelling around the world and she just listens and loves it.
Carter falls asleep in Zia's lap.
At first he finds it really embarrassing and Sadie teases him about it for weeks but eventually he just goes with it. Zia secretly loves it too.
Carter always talks a lot on their dates. He's a nerd so he knows something about everything and he just can't stop talking, because Zia actually listens.
Zia loves listening to Carter talk. He will start rambling about anything and everything and most of the time she has no idea what's going on but she just loves listening to his voice.
Sometimes they also just have quiet moments. They just sit together for hours sometimes in the silence, and they don't have to say anything because being together is enough.
They love eating ice cream together. Zia's favourite flavour is mint choc chip, Carter's favourite flavour is dark chocolate.
They both love dark chocolate (unlike sadie who says that anything over 60% isn't chocolate, it's cocoa)
Despite this, they also both have a sweet tooth and often get donuts together.
Zia and Carter both love tea. They always get tea wherever they go. It'll be flaming hot in the middle of summer and Sadie is sipping on an iced coffee while they're drinking tea.
Neither of them like coffee much.
They like to work or study together. They'll go to the Brooklyn house library and they have their own reserved spot where no-one else sits, even when they're gone.
Contrary to most people's expectations, they never go on museum dates. For Carter, they remind him too much of his years travelling the world with his father, and for Zia, they feel like a reminder of her childhood and the normal life she could've had.
Zia can't really cook, but she tries. Carter can't cook anything other than basic travel foods, but he tries for his girlfriend
Carter and Zia make fun of fast food. Then they go eat fast food. Sadie calls them hypocrites and they agree.
They also make fun of american tv shows and movies. Mostly they watch nature documentaries together.
Anyways they're adorable together and everyone at Brooklyn House ships them (as they should)
You know, I'm happy about the fact that many people can acknowledge and accept that Rick fucked up the Greek myths and his portrayal of the gods-
But I also feel like the same thing can be said for MCGA and TKC. They represent Norse and Egyptian mythology and I've seen some posts on how Rick effed up THERE-but only a few. Not many others. And yes, TKC is a beautiful series, but it also has some terrible problems.
It's on the tip of my tongue. It's just slipping out of my grasp. But someone needs to talk about Rick screwing up Norse and Egyptian mythology too.
THE WORLD CAN'T END BEFORE AMOS KANE AND AUSTIN LAKE MEET
Istg Carter and Zia should've been 17 and Sadie should've been 15 years old.
Why? WELL, a little more MATURITY on our protagonists' part would have been nice. Also, Rick, you're telling me the king of the Egyptian gods, Horus, would inhabit a FOURTEEN YEAR OLD BOY? Carter should have been 17 to have more maturity and been taken more seriously. And then he could've had anxiety about turning 18 and no longer being a kid and having to face the world now? Just my personal opinion.
And Sadie, well, let's make Sadie a little older to NOT have the queen goddess in the Egyptian Pantheon inhabiting a preteen, which is really weird. And if she really had to date Anubis and Walt (an odd choice by the way, platonic Sadie x Walt would've been way better IMHO) she could've been 15 to match Walt's 16? A 13 year old and 16 year old are horrible together, and it's canon that Walt is sixteen, not fourteen, and to make it worse, this is one of the only 3 biracial couples (Zia x Carter, Sadie x Walt, Frank x Hazel) which does NOT have a fully white person dating a POC.
(Yes, I know Sadie looks like a white girl, but it's important to remember that she's biracial white passing, so this isn't a fully White x POC biracial couple)
if gods don’t have any dna whERE IS THAT Y CHROMOSOME COMING FROM??????
