For the next person to say "Damian is too serious of a character" or "He's too violent"... Hoe, I think the fuck not.
Damian "Adopts every animal in sight that doesn't have a home" Wayne.
Damian "Talks to his animals like he could understand what they are saying" Wayne.
Damain "and his 'you want a piece of this I'm the goddamn son of Batman' spoken out loud while he trains by himself" Wayne.
Damian "I'm gonna hug my brother when he comes back to life, call him an ass and then continue to fight by his side like nothing ever happened" Wayne.
Damian "Don't be an Ezor" Wayne.
Damian "Bacame friends with a giant mutant dog beast and calls him an associate because he sees them as equals" Wayne.
Damian "Has a fucking pet Turkey named Jerry" Wayne.
Don't you dare tell me that he isn't just a cinnamon roll full of unreleased anger and wanting to be loved.
Bart: Is that blood?
Tim: Where?
Bart: In your mouth
Tim: There's a cup of kimchin 30 centimeters from my mouth
Bart: Yes
Tim: What is the chance that blood is what I have in my mouth?
Bart: 1%?
Tim: 1%?
Bart: 1%
Tim: Less than 1%
Bart: 0.9%?
Tim: I think less
Bart: 0.3%?
Tim: Yeah, I think this is it
Bart: So, is that blood?
Tim: If there is a 0.3% chance of being blood what I have in my mouth, and a 99.7% chance of being kimchi what I have in my mouth, why do you ask me if it is blood what I have in the mouth?
Bart: Because there is a 0.3% chance of blood being what you have in your mouth!
Tim: Are you going to bet on a 0.3% chance ?!
Bart: I'm going!
Tim: Why ?!
Bart: Because I want to bet on a 0.3% chance!
Tim: Well, you're right
Bart: Am I?
Tim: I was eating kimchi and I bit my lip, satisfied?
Bart: So this is blood?
Tim: This is blood
Bart: So I did well to ask if it was blood!
Tim: Normally, you would be wrong
Bart: But this time I am correct
Tim: But it usually doesn't
Bart: But this time yes
Tim: By sheer luck
Bart: Admit I'm right!
Tim: FOR PURE LUCK
Bart: ADmit that I'm right!
Tim: Where is this conversation going to take?
Bart: I have no idea, I just wanted to know if it was blood!
Tim: That's blood!
Bart: Great!
Tim: It's not great, but I understand that you said "great" to finish the thought
Bart: Do you want a band-aid?
Tim: I want to!
Bart: I'll get it!
Tim: Thank you
Bart: What a useless conversation!
I've been writing so many fanfics lately. All of which have mostly been about Bart. And also mostly BartJay cause I will nEvEr give it up... Anywho, I have one that I'm SUUUPER excited for! It's about Bart being on the side of the villains, even though he's a mutual, and the relationships he'd have if he were on the otherside. Exclusivley, Uncle Snart, Brother Thad, Brother Owen, "Grandpa" Thawne (even though he really doesn't care), and all in all rogue shinanigans. It's also angsty, but I'm happy about it!
OH! And there's another that I'm happy about too! Bart basically makes a paradox where he never met any of his family or friends or becomes close to them, so he's forced to be a lone hero until (spoiler) He joins the outsiders. (Yes this is a JayBart fic don't @ me)
AU where it's literally just Bart and following his stories and seeing his progression with family and friends but like- all him, only him. Please, I miss the Impulse comics so much
Headcannon that when Jason was still Robin and in teenage rebellion phases, Bruce bought him a studio with blank walls like canvases and let him do whatever. He'd buy Jason Spraypaints and supplies for his birthdays or just whenever he needed them. After Jason came back from the dead, the studio became his "HQ". Though he didn't like Batman, he had to admit that he did one good thing in his childhood.
@tardigradetheking I got you 😌
In Impulse, Issue #50 “First Fools”, Bart helps Batman on a Joker hostage case while trying to prank Robin on his first ever April Fools day.
Impulse, Issue #48 “when is a Riddle not a riddle”, Bart Allen has to save his mentor Max after being kidnapped by the riddler, who hid bombs around the city revealed only with riddles— too bad Riddler didn’t know Bart doesn’t follow the rules.
Teen Titans, #2 (2003), Bart got shot by A Jericho possessed Deathstroke, facing him off after multiple random attacks and when he first dawns the title “kid Flash”
Deathstroke #40, Impulse works with Deathstroke and multiple other heroes and anti heroes to defeat a common enemy.
In the Series Titans of Tomorrow, Bart Allen and Rose Wilson are in a steady relationship, that I still love to this day.
In Red Robin #12, Tim teams up with Bart and asks him to save Selina Kyle, The Catwoman, from League of Assassin soldiers that snuck into her house while she was asleep.
And this one isn’t with a Gotham Rogue, but it’s funny and relevant. In Young Justice #10 (1998), Bart hits his head so hard that for almost the entire comic, he believes he’s Batman!
Batman has a secret interrogation method specifically for Joker and Riddler and it’s called “Bart”. It’s super effective.
Me: sobbing over the friendship dynamic and every bit of life this panel give me.
Also me: Bart’s going to be taller than them one day, laugh now.
who is sobbing? not me i’m not crying over fictional friendships
Young Justice vol 3 #17
Jason, emotionally unstable and doesn’t know the first thing about confronting feelings: ...
Bart, completely driven by emotion and intuition who just wants to be loved and give his love: so, A date then?
Jason: yea, sounds cool.
Bart despite popular thinking would be an introvert too, he is not the type of guy who is hyper flitting around the class and talking non-stop, you could even say that he is quiet and somewhat silent when he is in his normal life.
I am not saying that he is shy, because he would be the opposite but he is not burning in the emotion of adventure either.
Yeah like that's one of he things that both the fandom and Bendis got really wrong about Bart.
They said (In a Bendis Y.J. issue) that Bart liked to talk or use a lot of words or something--but as I recall when reading Impulse. He doesn't actually talk a whole lot. He's in his head daydreaming like a type of introvert.
Heck, believe it or not you could say Bart isn't actually that hyper. He just has super speed and an attention problem so it seems that way.
He's a much calmer than people think. He can get very emotional and have loud emotions like everyone else. But his default mode is actually quite calm and collected, at least on the outside.
Bart is one of those painfully misunderstood characters. But I guess you can say that about a lot of comic book characters now a days.
Even writers of his original era didn't quite get him. Cause he was more subtle and nuanced than anyone seems to give him credit for.
Like very now and again people seemed ticked off at me for not like Post-Deaths Tim that much besides under a specific writer, but that's cause most of those writers didn't get Tim and just plain got his personality wrong. Which is pretty valid of me. I don't get why people only assume bad characterization only happened within the last decade--
But I arguably don't even like most Bart stuff from the 90s themselves cause it seems like when Mark Waid isn't there, it's often that the character is completely butchered. I'd say Pete David is second best, but even he had moments where he botched it.
My man Bart deserves more respect. Like even more so than Tim what the fandom thinks of Bart is even more just so wildly believed that I can’t even find myself enjoying, well, nearly any fan art. Cause most of it’s just based on the assumption of who Bart is rather than what he’s actually like.
