"If you use em dash in your works, it makes them look AI generated. No real human uses em dash."

Imaging thinking actual human writers are Not Real because they use... professional writing in their works.

Imagine thinking millions of people who have been using em dash way before AI becomes a thing are all robots.

Illustrations done for the chapter "Gareth and Lynette" (that has a major Tennysonian influence but with the ending from Malory) in the 1909 book "The Children’s King Arthur: Stories from Tennyson and Malory" by an unknown author, published by Henry Frowde and Hodder & Stoughton [x].

Seconded! Had this on tape, it was my second Arthurian piece of media after Disney's Sword in the Stone, it was wonky, but emotional. Our villain Mab has the funniest little raspy voice lol. It's only an hour total and well worth a watch!

This is a bit off topic for my typical stuff

And it's not actually about the show that the majority of you talk about

But I'm just hoping since you're a fan of the character Merlin that there are those out there who have seen Sam Neill's version

Yes Sam Neill, the guy from Jurassic park

There was a Merlin mini series that came out when I was a teenager so this thing is like 20 years old

And you all deserve to get to enjoy it

I honestly have no idea where you could stream it from if you can't find it on an illegal site

But honestly, it's a beautiful thing to enjoy from it's time period

And I hope you get to

ETA: apparently it's on YouTube I've linked it below

Medieval Literature

Quote from the Vulgate Cycle, The Story of Merlin:

So the sword stayed there until Candlemas. Then the people were all gathered, and all who wanted underwent the test. When they had all tried it, the archbishop said, “It would be right for you to do the will of Jesus Christ. Go, dear son Arthur. If Our Lord wills you to be king and guardian of this people, show us."

And he went forward and pulled out the sword and gave it to the archbishop.

Educational/Informational Resources

Quote from The Arthurian Handbook by Norris J Lacy and Geoffrey Ashe:

This book is a critical survey of the Arthurian legend. It deals with all periods, from the fifth and sixth centuries through the Middle Ages and to the present, examining Arthurian origins, the development of the legend in chronicles and other sources, the interpretation of Arthurian themes in literature, and their treatment in the other arts.

We have tried to write for a broad audience, including students and the general reader who may be fascinated by King Arthur and eager to have more information about him. We hope, however, that the book will also be of interest to scholars. The breadth and brevity of our presentation will of course limit scholars' interest in regard to their own specialization, but we anticipate that they will find useful information about areas and aspects of Arthuriana with which they do not deal directly.

That was brought over from europe as a crop! it smells just like garlic and you can cook with it!  And thats yarrow!  Its been used for tons of stuff and pollinators love it! Oh hey! Thats hemlock!
