Okay so, I was up till midnight writing this in my notes and I have decided to post it here. Enjoy and have a lovely day 😃
Context: Kai has Aquaphobia (Fear of drowning) and attempts to conquer his fears
------------------------------------
Kai stared deeply into his glistening reflection. The wavy, clear yet almost blue liquid almost taunting him. Mocking him in a loud silence type of way.
No one was around. It was just Kai and his own fear. The fear that has been dragging him backwards his whole life.
He wanted to change that. Kai was tired of feeling a sharp pain through his body. He wanted to end what seemed to feel like a never ending cycle of trauma.
He turned away from the water and softly closed his eyes. Kai felt unsteady and absolutely terrified, yet he desperately desired for these feelings to subside afterwards. As long as he pushed himself, he would overcome it, right?
After taking in a deep breath, Kai leaned himself back, letting the gravity grasp ahold of him and yank him down. His muscles tightened as he braced for the cold feeling that was now embracing him and pulling him deeper and deeper.
Kai felt his surroundings becoming denser. Flashing images replayed in his mind. Kai had no idea where they were from but he could never get rid of them. He began to moves his arms in attempt to pull himself back up to the surface. The pressure on his chest increased by the seconds. It was getting harder and harder to hold in his breath.
Kai's movements became more desperate as he thrashed his arms around, but had no avail. He struggled to hold onto the oxygen he had intake before. His mouth gaped open, releasing the tightness upon his chest. The sensation of slight relief was immediately replaced with a burning feeling as Kai's lungs began to fill with water.
Kai was nearly on the verge of unconsciousness. Just as his surroundings seemed to be fading away around him, it sounded as if there was a plunge in a far distance. Then it all vanished.
--------
Everything was very sudden. A huge shock of life hit Kai abruptly. Kai jolted up with an aggressive force and hurled up an excessive amount of water. The area around himself seemed very hazy and fuzzy.
A firm hand gently pushed down on Kai's shoulder, softly forcing him to lay back down. Kai slowly gazed up at the figure that peered down over him as his vision slowly cleared up.
"What the hell were you thinking?!" The voice became louder and started to match the face that appeared in view clearer.
Shit. It was Cole.
Kai fumbled with finding the right words. "I...don't know," he gasped for air. Man was his lungs on fire. "I thought maybe.."
"Maybe what?!" Cole cut him off, "That you were going to risk losing your own life??"
"No," Kai managed to steady his own breathing, "maybe I wouldn't be..so scared anymore."
Cole stared into Kai's auburn eyes. Kai took notice of Cole's expression now that he could see him clearly. Cole was not irritated or angry at all. He was more distressed than anything. Kai also became aware of Cole's hand that was holding his own hand ontop of his abdomen. Cole's thumb gently grazed small circles on the back of Kai's hand. Was it to sooth Kai or himself? Maybe it was to sooth both of them.
"I am okay now, Cole." Kai reassured as he gently squeezed Cole's hand.
Cole hummed slightly. "Yeah. You're just lucky I left lunch to come look for your dumb ass."
Kai weakly chuckled. He felt too tired to move or even react as vibrant as he usually does. He needed a nap.
Cole laid besides Kai, starring up towards the ceiling. "Y'know, there's better ways of getting over your fears than almost drowning yourself."
"Haha, very funny." Kai rolled his eyes.
"I'm serious." Cole looked at Kai again. Taking in all his features and appearance. "If you really want help getting over this fear of yours, I wouldn't mind helping you."
Kai slowly made eye contact with Cole. For a moment, they both felt a strong tingle, almost a shock, between each other. "You mean it?"
"Of course." Cole had a soft smile.
Kai returned the smile back to Cole. "Thank you Cole. But for right now, can we just lay here?"
Cole chuckled. Kai felt his stomach turn with butterflies hearing his laugh.
"I don't mind staying here one bit."
"Good. Cus' I don't mind either."

Kai curled himself into a warm ball as a brisk fall morning breeze gently blew through the open window. As much as the coolness did help Kai with his overheating, he did not necessarily care for it this early in the morning.
Kai had sunken deeper into his bedding. Reaching out from the warmth of his blankets, Kai snoozed the alarm he had set on his phone the night before. The comfort of his bed felt too unreal to leave. Pillow cases were just cold enough to embrace the sleepy head. Blankets wrapped the body up, containing the gentle warmth that encouraged ones comfort to continue.
It was a lovely Sunday in autumn. The day was destined to be a relaxing and resting day. People would have either wrapped up or finished their weekend projects. The sun was still heating the earth, making the weather appear to be stunning, yet the breeze pushed everyone back inside since it was very cold.
Kai was drifting off to sleep again as he had found the perfect position to lay in. It was faint, but Kai could hear a gently shuffle across the floorboards and the shutting of the window. He decided to ignore all the noises and continue to fall asleep. Then there was a sudden shift on the bed.
"Kai.." a quietly deep voice hummed.
Kai responded back with a tired groan and started to burrow his head under the blankets.
A hand gently caraessed Kais back, softly scratching his back.
"Kai, it's time to wake up."
"Mmmnaah" Kai mumbled.
"Oh c'mon. You won't even wake up for your lover?"
Kai thought for a moment then sat up in bed. His eyes met with another, light brown set of eyes that looked at him with a strong admiration. A pair of strong hands found their way onto Kai's thighs. A set of soft lips found their way to Kai's, lingering there for a moment just to savor the feeling a little longer. Kai kissed back while closing his eyes again. His hands gently moved up two strong muscular arms, past the shoulders and up the neck into very soft, dark coily hair. They stayed there for a moment, enjoying the sweetness of the kiss. Feeling the comfort of each others pressence. Everything just felt right.
Kai pulled away and found the pair of eyes again. God, how much he loved those damn eyes. So light brown, almost golden in the morning orange light. Color of independence and determination, yet the way those eyes looked at him with a sense of security, compassion and love made Kai weak in the knees.
He brought his hands out from the hair and slowly moved them down the man's round face to caresse the jawline. Glancing away from the man's eyes, to his lips, then met his eyes again. Kai missed him. And he knew it too without either one uttering a word.
The same alarm Kai snoozed went off again, catching Kai off gaurd. He reached over and shut it off.
Then this time, he woke up for real.
The morning light was no longer there. The sky was still dark outside. The window was never shut. The man that was once on that bed, looking at Kai, was no longer there. It all came back to him. Kai's lover was still gone.
