Trying to get back in the studying mood is the hardest part of studying.
There's still time left until my midterms, but I don't want to cram a lot right before the exams, so I'm trying to get back on track. Productivity level is remarkably low.
Any advice on getting motivated to study?
i finished babel last week and only managed to recently finish annotating because i needed time to digest everything that happened in the book š„²šā¤ļøā𩹠. babelās a masterpiece. i loved the book from the beginning till the end. the diverse characters are amazing, the dark academia setting/atmospheric writing is stunning, and tying all this with the whole plot being focused on the power of language and translation is just exquisite. this is one of the best books iāve ever read š so many books that iāve read this hear have been so amazing š„¹āØ what is a book that youāve recently read and loved? https://www.instagram.com/p/CklBX86vPAd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

today's slow sunday setup, i am currently working at my linguistic paper but i'm already so curious about the reading pensum for my literature class, so i might have a peak when i am done with working on my paper and cleaning for today! (cleaning really is necessary, lol)
also i am incredibly longing for a cozy autumn start, it is my favourite season and i am looking forward to it so so so much!

Motivation is a tricky thing
It took me 4 weeks since college started to get back in the studying mood. I tried to stay on top of my work and, to be honest, i failed miserably. Recently i got the urge to study, i missed the feeling.
So, here I am, back again, wasting my time on Tumblr, because it makes me (in some weird way) more productive

Oh I am definitely gonna have to re-learn how to take nice desk/study pictures. Anyways, today Iām reviewing my early TESOL program notes to refresh myself on some grammar and sneaking in a quick DuoLingo session. I donāt use Duo as my primary study material for any language, but I find it particularly helpful for Mandarin because it forces me to read/review characters every day. I simply donāt have time every day to hit my textbooks the way I want to, but I can always do a Duo lesson or two. Also, I am competitive and want to get to a year-long Duo streak lol.

My desk setup is just so cozy š§” One of the best things about working from home the last couple years for me has been developing a real coziness in my desk and apartment. I took a new job recently where I will be in person more and itās definitely bittersweet!
Today felt like it would never end.
Had an exam in the morning, coffe break, continued studying, had another exam in the afternoon, and then went ikea shopping.
First exam: good, i felt great about my performance, got me excited for life :)
Second exam: i blanked. I was tired, burnt-out, unfocused, and for the life of me, i could not focus enough to properly answer the questions. I did... Poorly, for lack of better words.
Not feeling great, but shopping did help make me feel a bit better

day 1/100 - 100 days of productivity
- went on an early morning run and watched the sun rise on my way back
- started my internship at the district court. they gave us a rough schedule for the first two weeks and I think itās going to be very interesting
- worked from home after I got back from the the internship
- did some grocery shopping
and thatās it for day 1. pretty productive day so.. good start.
Update:
I did fall asleep in Starbucks :')
After a super short (unintended) nap, i decided to go home and sleep properly (meaning a longer nap).
Not my most productive day, but it went better than i expected productivity-wise.

Did not sleep at all last night.
I have an early exam the day after tomorrow early in the morning, so I am trying to fix my sleep schedule. Sleep would be wonderful, but desperate times require for desperate measures. Went on a long walk to clear my mind, and now i am studying in a Starbucks, enjoying the chill music in the background. Ordered an iced chai latte for the first time (usually i get it hot) and it is heavenly.
Hope I won't fall asleep while in public :)

itās the first official day of freshers week and iāve got my uni opening ceremony is this morning! yesterday i also took part in my first uni tradition - the Pier Walk, which is where everyone walks down the old pier in their traditional red robes. it took FOREVER (literally stood around waiting for about two and a half hours) before we actually got to the end of the pier because there were so many people, but it was super fun and a great memory that i know iāll have forever!

Going back to university to take the exams I've been dreading.
I hardly feel prepared, but I dont know if any amount of studying would've made me feel prepared. Missed my dorm, missed going to the library to study, so these are gonna be a few bittersweet days!
What do you do to prepare for exams?

š§: my jinji by sunset rollercoaster
When I study, it helps me a lot to write down the information, even if I don't go back to look at it, so it would've been a lot of paper waste on my part. I decided to get a tablet and I'm a huge Android fan. This is my Samsung tab s6, i got it second hand, and after one year of using it a lot, I still have no complaints!
Highly recommend it :)
(you can also attach a keyboard and make it a super portable 'laptop')
I request advice! I'll be starting on a new academic road this coming August and I desire to not use as much paper as I did in undergraduate.
For context, I'm a mathematics student for whom hand-typed notes are made more accessible by LaTeX but still not easily producible during a lecture, particularly if that lecture involves multiple operations, fractions within fractions, and symbols I haven't encountered before. In geometry classes, there is no hope. Moreover, practicing mathematics context is best done by hand, at least for me.
What I'm seeking are paper-less options that will still allow me to "hand write." I've seen iPad and Apple Pencil recommendations online, but I prefer non-Apple products. What has worked well for others, math or non-math?
