Early 2010s pop music really was a fever dream wasn’t it. Like take the song Get Lucky by Pharrell Williams: it had lines like “We’ve come too far to give up who we are” and “like the legend of the phoenix, all ends with beginnings” and yet the whole thing is literally just about wanting to get laid by someone you meet at the club.
