James and the Raving Lunatics - New Rave Strobe Fest

"New Rave Strobe Fest" is the other of the two Acid house tracks I made to kick off 2025. It has a much more contemporary feel to it and a lot heavier in texture, taking some influences from Trance and having a bit more of an overall futuristic/psychedelic feel. Like "Room", I also wanted to combine drum machines in this track, this time combining the 707 with the 909. The only goal here was to create a fun dance track to just jump around and let loose to.

"Room" is one of two Acid House Tracks I released this year to kick off 2025, this one in particular falling into older style Acid House reminiscent of tracks like "Flow Coma" by 808 State. I wanted to create a track where the bassline is the focus over other textures like chords and pads. I also wanted to experiment with using a hybrid of drum machines, with this track utilizing the 707 and the 808. The main inspiration behind this track was the character "Room", the titular antagonist from the internet/analog horror series "Boisvert". My thought was: "If he had a theme song, what would it be like?" The answer? Something wacky and a bit creepy.
