Hello again, everyone! Since posting my review of @authorkimberlygrey’s wonderful novel Ascendant, it’s been published and is now available to all of you! Ascendant by Kimberly Grey Review

Summary: For hundreds of years, war has raged across the realm of Guardian Angels. White-Wing against Black-Wing. Grace is the Saboteur, daughter of the White-Wing Spy Master, destined to end the war once and for all. But all of that is snatched away when she is captured by the Black-Wings. Trapped in their secret city, Grace finds herself questioning everything.

Going into this story, I already knew it was in my usual reading wheel-house. I’m always a sucker for fantasy stories, especially ones with complex conflict. This story was absolutely no exception.

I’ll admit that I became a touch worried at some points, having noticed some of the tell-tale signs of upcoming cliches that, while I always enjoy, I’ve seen written poorly too many times. Kimberly Grey pleasantly surprised me, however. Not only did Grey execute some of my beloved cliches, but they also lead some of them into outcomes I absolutely did not expect. And, let me tell you, I loved it.

Grace, as the main character, is a brilliant narrator to follow. Not only does she begin the story believing in her mission and the people alongside her, but the reader is given the opportunity to watch as her own understanding of the world, war, and everything around her actually develops. After all, Grace is still a child in this war, a child that has been misled and trained to be a soldier all her life. On top of that, she’s just an all-around lovable character and I really enjoyed my time with her.

On top of the complex conflict and lovable narrator and her development, I absolutely loved the focus on found-family in this story. It’s been a while since I had the opportunity to read a story with a well-written found-family element and, I must say, this was refreshing and incredibly satisfying. Grey could’ve easily written a romantic relationship between Grace and her new family member, but, again, pleasantly surprised me by creating a loving, sibling relationship. Thank you so much for that.

If this was already in Goodreads and Amazon, it would absolutely get a five-star rating from me (and it will receive those ratings as soon as possible). I highly recommend this book, and I’m excited to see this published so that more people can take in this story.

Once you realize your idealistic acts (after a lot of suffering to be honest), you can get over it with a lil bit of dedication and start focusing more on real life, even if it's hard. That's why looking at neptune is actually so important, because it's a planet that clouds your vision.

Sun trine north node: Your life path this year will be heavily impacted by your personal image. How you present yourself and how you are generally will make you move forward and advance in your life. Do I need to say much about it? I think Rapunzel is the embodiment of Leo Ascendant. Although I am not a blonde (even though sometimes I want to paint my hair blonde or red lol - my friends tempt me tbh), I see myself a lot in her. Ok but I relate so much with Merida in a personal level, even my relationship with my mom is the same I swear. Our way of acting on impulsive mode 100% of the time, our need of going out in adventures and to release ourselves from fitting in a box, the way we share our opinions proudly and we can be funny without trying much, the way we do crazy things without thinking about the consequences, the way we like to show our potential to anyone who doesn't believe it, the way we absolutely do not accept when someone tries to control us, the way we say what's on our minds most of the times

5H Sun & Mercury: Tinker Bell

Can we ignore the fact she's not an actual princess? Because I need to put her in here. She's one of the characters I've related the most since I was a child tbh. I'm gonna be honest here that Inwas a child kind of spoiled (also being an only child helps), and when things didn't go as I planned, I got mad just like her, I remember my dad saying to my child me that I was just like her, even the red cheeks lmao. I just feel like her energy in general is a lot like mine and the way we're hardworkes, oh my gosh I really love her movies and she was one of the characters that made me who I am today. The nostalgia is feral

Gemini Moon: Anna

The overthinking, the way we feel like we can fix even people who are unfixable, the clumsy way (again), the way we can fall for the most shitbag men in the world without seeing their red flags, the way we embark in the most random situations without even meaning to, the way we speak without thinking and mess up our relationships with it but we try to fix things one more time, the hope we feel because we need to hold on to something before we lose our minds, etc

11H Moon: Charlotte

She needed more screen time lol, she's such a funny character and she NEEDED her prince charming lol. Ok, now I'm confused if she actually fits my moon house but I just really relate to her and I'm gonba put her here because she's my comfort character lmao, the exxagerated way of acting sometimes? check. the need to find love and happiness? check check. the vanity sometimes because we like to feel glamorous? check. and also our ingenuity sometimes lol (istg i'm not an intitulated person but this post can say something else? I swear I'm just trying to show my best sides here guys)

Aquarius Venus: Bella

The way we find pleasure in reading and seeking knowledge in a variety of stories, the way we find love and the most diverse universes, the way fall in love with the most unique creatures because we're focused on what's inside, the way we stand our ground even when the situation is against us, our courage. (I just think Bella has everything to do with aquarius venus in general, this placement is so her)
