Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - More to come
11:17 a.m. 1st September, 2015
Almost all the students seem to have gotten out of the exam hall already but there is no sign of Jimin. What can that mean?
"I don't think his exam went well, noona!" Yoongi quietly puts my thoughts into words.
I shake my head, "He must be talking to a friend. Jiminâs exam must go well. He prepared for it for months."
"Accidents happen, you know!" Yoongi shrugs.
Finally I see Jimin, slouching, coming out of that building all alone. My heart feels heavy. Jimin will not recover from this any time soon if something goes wrong.
Yoongi calls out, "Jiminah! Here!"
There is a moment of confusion in his face at first. Then it fades to recognition. He slowly walks towards us and gives a weak smile.
"Was it that bad?" I ask.
Jimin nods. His smile turns upside down. And the next thing we know is his eyes are wet. Jimin is crying.
I am sitting at a cafe table waiting for my two brothers to come from the washroom, wondering what life lesson the older one is teaching the younger one in his hour of despair. It does not take long. Finally, they make their way towards me.
âEverything okay, now?â I ask.
âTolerable!â Yoongi sighs. There is a hint of annoyance in his voice.
As soon as they sit down, Jimin begins ranting about all the silly mistakes he had made. His brain was a mess during the exam time so he couldnât concentrate properly and he had marked the number of bills and coins in South Korea to be five and four respectively whereas the answer is quite the opposite.
âCâmon, Jiminah, everyone knows thatâ Yoongi grunts mockingly and I glare at him to stop teasing.
I turn to Jimin and, noticing the dark circles and the sharp jawline, ask him, âHave you been properly eating and sleeping, Jiminie?â
âWhat?â His look was wearied. That answers my question.
I say, âListen! What you really need is a proper meal and some sleep.â I check the watch on my wrist and calculate the amount of time still remaining before I meet up with Namjoon. âAlright! Letâs go to granmaâs place and Iâll cook both of you some hearty meals.â
Driving all the way to granmaâs place is tiring to some extent. It is all the more exhausting when you have a passenger talking non-stop about how terrible heâs feeling and how his life is all dark ahead of him as if not getting into SNU means that your lifeâs over. I understand that all the unnecessary amount of caffeine Jimin had consumed within the last few months had done little to no good to him. What surprises me more is the level of patience Yoongi has for Jimin. Because I am slowly losing my mind right now.
At last, here I am, trying to make some quick healthy lunch for me and my two little ones.
âYou're home already?â The youngest enters the kitchen.
Alright. Three little ones now.
I hastily add more water and some spicy ingredients to the soup before turning to speak to Jungkook. âYes! Just to prepare lunch. Go say hi to Yoongi and Jimin.â
âThey're here?â He excitedly leaves without waiting for my answer.
The familiar sound of the boysâ laughter fills the living room. It is carried to my ears which in turns brings a smile to my lips. I prepare the dishes, pour the soup, take the kimchi out of the fridge and finally call Yoongi to help me carry them to the table.
I am surprised to not find Jimin in the dining room.
âHyung fell asleep so I carried him to my room. He looked so tired. Didn't want to wake him up.â Jungkook informs.
âBut the food will go cold when he wakes up.â I say.
Yoongi pulls the sleeve of my shirt and motions me to sit down, âit's alright. I'll just warm them up for him.â
I say, âYou start eating. Iâm gonna go check on him.â
Yoongi shrugs, âheâll be alright, noona. We all do.â
I nod a little but my heart does not agree. Jimin is a perfectionist. I know how much it hurts him when he fails to meet his ambitions. And it pains me to even think how this is going to affect him. He is going to be so hard on himself from now on.
I step inside Jungkookâs almost-bare-except-for-a-bed bedroom and find Jimin snoring softly. He looks peaceful in his sleep. Almost angelic other than the fact that he has lost so much weight over the past few months so he looks kinda ill. His eyes have sunken into perfect brown circles and his jawlines look as if it can cut.
I slowly run my hand over his hair as my eyes start to prick. I wish he would stop worrying about being perfect. I wish he knew he was more than his mistakes. I wish he knew how much he is loved.
I quietly go back to eat. Luckily Yoongi and Jungkook are already immersed in a conversation about some comic books that I barely know about. After a few minutes of munching on my food in silence, my phone rings from the kitchen so I have to excuse myself. It is Namjoon.
âNoona! It's already 1:50. Are you sure you can make it in time?â I hear Namjoon's worried voice from the other side of the speaker.
âI'm leaving home right away. You wait for me a little longer. Can you do that?â
There is a moment of silence. Then Namjoon speaks, âof course, I'll wait. I ain't doing this without my lucky charm.â

âJust a few more minutes left.â Yoongi sighs heavily, âyou could have easily saved the bother to come here, today.â
âWhat happened?â I ask, taking the empty seat beside him. âI thought you said that weâre winning today. Whatâs up with that long face?â
âIt seemed like that at the first half.â Yoongi nods towards the field, âas you can see, the tables took a 180 degree turn.â
Honestly, I donât understand a thing about basketball. It is better to just take Yoongiâs words as they are. I ask him the important question now, âhow much do you owe them?â
Yoongi intentionally avoids eye contact and keeps looking at the match without a reply. I notice that he is sweating like crazy. I understand now that it is not just about the game.
âDonât tell me you have to sell a kidney to pay them.â I jokingly say to which he doesnât budge. I grow agitated. âYoongi! Câmon, tell me what it is?â
He sighs and says, âItâs just worth my rent, thatâs all.â
âYour rent?â I ask, âlike for the month?â
Yoongi nods and stays silent. We both remain silent for the rest of the game. I wish I could offer to help him. It is most likely that he will not accept anything directly from me. I, on the other hand, am not in a place to help him either.
My phone vibrates in my pocket and I quickly take a look at Jiminâs message saying heâs going inside the exam hall right now. I write a small âgood luckâ reply and put my phone back inside the pocket.
Yoongi starts to stand up from his seat, âLetâs get out of here! Itâs not like anything can change in the last few minutes.â
I nod and follow him out of the stadium. He asks me if I want something to eat to which I shake my head.
âNoona!â Yoongi says, âStop worrying about me. Itâs not like Iâm going bankrupt or something. Itâs just some stupid amount of money, thatâs all.â
âSo,â I start hesitantly, âwho will pay the rent?â
âIâll manage that somehow, Noona. I always do.â
Yoongiâs the one among us whoâs the most desperate to make a lot of money. Thatâs why he goes into these betting games and all. I once heard from Jin that he had found Yoongi starving himself because he lost all his money on some games and Jin had helped him that one time even though Yoongi refused to be helped. I donât really approve of his ways but who am I to stop him? I did not raise him. I donât even understand his ways of thinking.
I still feel like I should advise him to stop this nonsense and try something else. Something permanent. He is a genius and I know he will be able to figure something out if he wants. But I also feel like today is not the time to lecture him on life. Not when heâs already so stressed about it.
I decide to head to my next destination. I am not going to leave Yoongi in this state. So, I ask him, âIf you donât have to be anywhere, will you come with me?â
âI can manage some time. Where will you take me, Noona?â
âWeâre going to meet Jimin.â
Jiminâs exam will be finished at around 11 a.m. So, Yoongi and I wait for him outside the hall where there seems to be a huge crowd of the guardians of the other students. I mentally pray that Jimin will be able to outsmart them on his test today.
âI never understand Jiminâs appeal for education.â Yoongi says.
âI think itâs the same one as yours.â I offer an explanation, âCome to think of it. At the end of the day you both want to win at life. By elevating your status. Either with education or with money.â
âYou know what, Noona?â
âWhat?â
âI hate it so much that youâre always right!â There is a faint line of smile on his face as he says the last sentence.
âYoongiâ I suddenly feel an urge to talk to him seriously. Yoongi barely talks about his real issues.
âNoona?â
âIâm asking this because Iâm really worried about you, okay?â
Yoongi frowns, âI think I know what youâre going to say. Iâm sorry for making you feel that way. I really am. Iâm sorry, Noona!â
âOh no, dear!â I quickly add, âYou donât have to apologize. I understand that youâre going through tough times.â
âNoona!â Yoongi looks at a distance as he speaks, âDo you remember maâs face? Like, not the one as we see in her pictures. The face of her when she was sick. That face she had before she could finally rest after years of pain she went through.â
I donât know why Yoongi is suddenly bringing this topic. Is he really missing ma all of a sudden or just trying to change the topic? Yoongi glances at me for a second and I can see his eyes glistening.
âIf only I had the money, I would have taken a bus from school to come to see you.â Yoongi sniffs, âhe wouldnât let me go no matter how much I begged him to. Said it was a âwaste of good money seeing some sick peopleâ. I donât think I can ever move on from the fact that I never saw ma and pa again after I left that house.â
âYoongi!â I can barely make myself audible.
Yoongi never talked about the times he spent with our uncle who took him in when ma fell sick. Yoongi was only four at that time and he was the only one who never came to visit us occasionally during the five years when ma and pa were still alive. When I used to ask pa about it, he would always say that Yoongi was too busy with his school. I only got to see him first at their funeral. Only after Yoongi left uncleâs place for good when he was finally eighteen, we started meeting almost regularly.
âIâm sorry, Noona, I turned up this way.â Yoongi looks at me, his eyes bloodshot, âI didnât really have an opportunity to be any better than this. Of course, I wonât use this as an excuse. Iâm all grown up now and Iâm trying to be more responsible. I swear, Noona, you will be proud of me like all the rest of our brothers one day. I will make that happen.â
âBut I am proud of you!â I say, âI am proud of how strong you are. I am proud that after all those shits you went through, you still grew up to be such a kind and sweet soul.â
âThank you, Noona! But you donât really have to cheer me up.â Yoongi shrugs his shoulders, âI know me.â
âAnd I know you too.â I slowly move towards him and pull him into a hug, âI see you, Yoongi. I see you!â I slowly pat him on his back as I can sense him fighting the urge to hug me back.

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - More to come
06:45 a.m. 1st September, 2015
I still have more than an hour before Hobiâs aka Hoseokâs dance starts. So, I decided to take a shower and apply some light makeup that would suit all the occasions I am to participate in. I had taken a day off work today. Because, Iâm about to meet my seven little brothers, that too, at different times in one single day.
I make a mental note of my schedule and get out of my house (Sorry, itâs actually my granma's house) 10 minutes prior to Hobiâs dance. He is going to participate in the finale of the dance competition he had been practicing for for the last three years. Though a little nervous, Iâm pretty positive he is going to win. I mean, why not? Heâs the best dancer I have ever seen.
âCome here!â Hobi waves his hand while talking to me on the phone. I go straight to him pushing the crowd ahead of me.
âYou should have hurried, Noona!â Hobi says with a pout, âI have to go change. The showâs starting.â
âAlright!â I tell him, âGo on, then. Iâll be cheering you on from the crowd. Are you nervous?â
âNah!â Hobi dismisses the question with a slight wave of his hand and by putting a bright smile on his face, âWhy would I be? Iâve got you.â
I take his hands in mine, clearly noticing the sweaty palms, âFighting!â
âFighting!â with a little shake of the hands he disappears inside the dressing room.
Lisa starts her performance with a loud applause from the crowd. I had watched some of the previous dance performances of others in the videos Hoseok brought home for me to see. But I donât remember watching any of her. Watching her perform live in front of me makes me a little nervous. She has one of the best body controls. And it is definitely something to worry about.
The next participant gets as much cheers from the crowd as her previous competitor. Her nameâs Ryujin and I had seen her collaborating with Hobi before. I liked that dance so much at the time. Now, Iâm not really sure Iâm liking her moves. Of course, she can dance. And that is exactly my problem.
Finally, Hoseok takes the stage as âJ-Hopeâ and the crowd bursts into loud screams from the enthusiasts. All my anxieties take some rest. But as soon as he starts to move along the beat, I feel like Iâm holding my breath. As if that would ensure his perfect performance.
Everything goes smoothly until at a point Hoseok rips off his shirt; earning more screams from the audience. Iâm shocked at the revelation. Is it a mistake? I mean, Hoseok would never do that. Once he had told me himself that he doesnât like showing much skin. Itâs the choreography that matters more to him.
But it seems like Iâm the only one whoâs confused. Others around me seem to be enjoying the dance along with that little distraction that he made. However, I gather myself just before the end so that I donât forget to cheer and clap the loudest for my little Hobi.
Thereâs a thirty minute break before they announce the winner of the long one month competition. I check my phone and gasp.
Three missed calls from Yoongi.
I check the time. Itâs already 8:48 a.m. Yoongiâs game starts at 8:30 a.m. I was supposed to be with him now. I look out for Hobi.
âYou did great!â I compliment him hurriedly.
âThanks butâŚâ Hobi frowns.
âWhatâs the matter?â I take a closer look at his sweaty face.
âItâs just thatâ Hobi continues, âI feel like I made a mistake.â
My phone rings before I could tell him anything. Itâs Yoongi again.
âUmmâŚâ I hesitate before speaking, âI still believe youâre going to win. Hobi⌠Please donât mind but⌠I really have to be somewhere now.â
âWhat?â Hobi looks up, âNo way! Wait for the announcement at least. Please, Noona! You promised!â
âI promised I will watch you perform. And I did that. Besides, you didnât mention the results will take that long to be announced. I have to meet Yoongi. Apparently he has an important match too.â
Hobi scoffs, âAs if heâs the one playing.â
I can sense the anger rising within him. First of all, heâs upset about some mistakes that he made. Now that Iâve mentioned Yoongi, heâs definitely pissed. Hoseok never liked the fact that Yoongi bets money on basketball matches. According to him, âItâs a waste of money if you lose. And a waste of character if you win.â
âYou can go if you want.â Hobi says finally, âItâs not even a huge deal.â
I know he doesnât mean that. It is in fact a huge deal for him. My common sense tells me it is better to deal with an angry Yoongi than with an angry Hoseok.
I smile and pull him into a hug. Heâs surprised by my sudden action. âWhatâre you doing?â
âDonât worry!â I say, âNoona will stay so that you win.â
âOh yeah!â Hobi hugs me back, âThen, Iâll definitely win.â
âIâll be there as soon as it ends.â I yell at Yoongi through my phone because of the loud audience around me.
âYeah, take your time.â Yoongi says bitterly, âLooks like Hoba is in need of some luck more than I do today. âCause weâre already winning.â Then, he cuts the line.
I donât have the time to think about his last remark. The three participants walk to the stage and the crowd cheers louder, as if it is even possible. I cheer for Hobi too, mentally praying to God that my little brother gets the fruit that heâs been nurturing for so long.
With some dramatic speeches and hearts beating up to our throats, the result is finally revealed. And J-Hope is not the winner.
Looks like Ryujin outdid the others this time and she is as shocked as I am to find it out. Both Lisa and Hobi are clapping with bright smiles on their faces. They are both bowing to Ryujin, who in turn is bowing to them. The flower bouquet is presented to her and the rest of the celebration goes on in blur.
I went backstage to meet Hobi. But I only see two girls hugging and complimenting each other. Hobi is nowhere to be seen. I look through the dressing room and heâs not there.
I decide to peek at the boyâs bathroom to check and I sigh in relief. Hobi is bending towards the basin, his hands covering the face while the faucet runs beneath.
âHobi!â I call him softly.
âPlease, Noona!â His voice cracks as he tries to speak, âJust give me some time. I promise Iâll be okay. Just some time is all I need.â
Contemplating on why it is hard for me to believe that he is crying out of failure, I find that it is because I had never experienced Hoseok openly displaying sadness before. He was always the ray of sunshine, the restless butterfly or the sweet smelling flower of our family. As if it is whatâs expected of him.
Even right now, in such a vulnerable state of mind, he doesnât seem to be trusting me enough to have confided in me. Instead, heâs willing to go through a breakdown all alone until heâs ready to smile brightly again.
I am dumbfounded. I feel like I need to tell him something, comfort him and let him know that heâs not here alone. I want to make him feel that it's okay to fail. That heâs still loved and thatâs what should matter the most.
My phone rings in my pocket once again and Hoseok looks up from the sink. With teary red eyes he says, âIt must be Yoongi Hyung. Donât make him wait any longer. Just go. Iâll be fine.â
âAre you sure?â I ask, confused.
âI guess,â he sniffs, âI accept my defeat. Maybe, Iâm not really the best dancer that you used to think I am.â

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - More to come
I always wonder when Ma said that she wanted a big family the day Pa had asked her to marry him, if she had really meant it like a family of ten people. But one thing was clear. Pa took her words to his heart and fulfilled her dream without compromise.
The struggle of being the elder sister of seven messy and chaotic brothers can be something impossible to even imagine. Especially if you are growing up in a household where both your parents are too sweet to ever scold their children.
I wish I could be that person who can easily punish her younger siblings when they misbehave. But alas! God had other plans. He made sure that my seven precious brothers were treated kindly by my parents to the point of being spoiled.
Now donât get the wrong idea. My brothers are not all spoiled brats. In fact, most of them grew up to be gentlemen. At least, in front of the people that matters. But when they are home together with no one to supervise them, they are the biggest crackheads to ever exist.
Even if they give me headaches that are almost similar to that of the migraine pain my best friend suffers from (I said âalmostâ because no pain compares to her evil migraine, trust me!) the moment I look into their eyes, I canât bring myself to be mean. I think they have somehow mastered the art of creating the most innocent puppy eyes that melts my heart within seconds.
I think I am giving you the wrong idea all along. It's actually because I canât express my frustration with my naughty angels in real life. So, it is making me pour out all the complaints here in texts all at once. Maybe it's time for a proper chronological introduction of them. And I will not make you wait any longer.
Kim Seok Jin:
The eldest and the handsomest, as he likes to be called, is none other than our Kim Seok Jin. âJust call me Jin. It sounds cool.â as our prince had once said. So, it had been maintained by everyone without a word. After all, heâs the hyung of the pack.
Three years younger than me, acts like the maknae more than the maknae does himself, Jin never fails to crack a joke at every family event. His sense of humor is unlike any other. No one would agree that his dad jokes are ever really funny. But you would never catch them not laughing even whenever Jin made one of his lamest jokes. My personal belief is that the mystery lies within Jinâs own laughing sound.
Kim Yoon Gi:
The only one who dares not to laugh, when the others are ready to roll on the ground, is our second eldest hyung, Yoongi. He even managed to come into this world as early as possible after Jin so that only nine months is their age difference.
My grandma used to tell a touching story of how my mother had lost her beloved cat during her pregnancy when she carried Yoongi. Thatâs how he ended up getting her catâs name. Yoongi lives up to his name too. He looks like a cat, acts like a cat and I feel that he even thinks like a cat.
Kim Ho Seok:
Oldest by only seven minutes among the first set of twins mother gave birth to, Hoseok is the sunshine of our family. His bright spirit and reckless laugh puts everyone at ease. It is as if he had taken the responsibility of always keeping the good vibes in the family.
However, his angry side is just as scary. Nobody wants to deal with an angry Hoseok. Nobody! Not Jin, not me, not even Ma and Pa.
Kim Nam Joon:
Hoseokâs twin Namjoon is the brain of the team. Who said that it is always the middle child who gets ignored all the time? Namjoon proves every single one of them wrong. It is always Namjoon who comes to the conversation first whenever a relative of ours asks about us.
With all that demeanor like an older child, both physically and mentally, Namjoon still has a very childish side of him. That child is the God of destruction who breaks everything it touches. These contradictory qualities had earned him his nickname, âGiant-babyâ.
Kim Ji Min:
The second set of twins produced Jimin as the oldest. Jimin, the comforter. Jimin, the lovely. And definitely Jimin, the flirt.
If cringe could be a person, he would be Jimin. He never shies away from his emotions. âDid I mention that I love you?â is something you would often hear him say. Even though others pretend to throw up at his words of affirmations, they have to agree that they canât help liking it secretly.
Kim Taehyung:
Jiminâs soulmate, born with a face of a Greek God, Kim Taehyung runs the fashion industry in our home. âThat lipstick doesnât suit your eye makeupâ , âThe shoes made your whole fit cheapâ, âTry to wear that and everyone will think youâre going through a breakup.â Taehyung doesnât care to point them out.
Taehyung lives in his own world. Not in his mind exactly. I think it is an invisible world that coexists with ours. Because most of the time, we question his behavior and sometimes his sanity too.
Kim Jungkook:
The golden maknae, also the only one having a two years age difference with his closest elder hyung, is our bunny boy Jungkook. At first sight, everyone would think heâs the high school heartthrob. But once you get to know him, youâll know how shy he is in front of strangers.
Whatever shyness he has in him, he uses them all outside our home. Because inside itâs always, âParty! Party! Yeah!â And that party is always him alone in his room doing karaoke till it's 3 in the morning. But whoâs to scold him for that?
The reason behind each of their varying personalities, I believe, is because we grew up in different households as children. Is it even surprising? Do you think it is really possible for two people to take care of eight kids without help? The answer to this question may be a little complicated.
But my parents were determined to raise their kids by themselves so that none of them ever feels left out. And they did it too, for almost 8 years. But Ma fell ill right after giving birth to Jungkook. And Pa was having some financial crisis at the same time. As it has been said 'Bad things come in threes', Jungkook was born with some complications.
So, Pa had to focus on him and him alone. It was still hard for Pa to do it without Ma by his side. That's when I decided to take charge of taking care of the youngest while Pa looked after Ma and his business. I know I was only 8 years old at the time, but our situation had forced me to be more mature than that.
After some discussions on our wellbeing and the family's economic condition, Ma and Pa decided to keep Jungkook and me only. They told me that it was only for the time being and that they would bring everyone together as soon as they could.
Poor Jimin and Taehyung had no idea when they were sent to live with Granma and Granpa. I learned later that little Tae had continually cried for days and Jimin had grown too quiet for a two year old.
Namjoon and Hoseok were sent to stay with Ma's elder sister, her husband and her little daughter who was just about the age of the twins. As far as the report went, I'm positive that among all my brothers they got to stay a little happier away from home.
The one who suffered the most was probably Yoongi. Being too innocent for this world, Pa had failed to recognise how cruel his brother's behavior could sometimes get. Maybe growing up with an emotionally unavailable adult made Yoongi the most outwardly cold. Mind you that I said 'outwardly' because I'm sure if you can see through his heart, you will find something quite the opposite.
Jin stayed with Pa's sister who had been raising kids her whole life. All of her kids were older than Jin. So I guess it's easier to understand why Jin acts like a maknae all the time.
The idea of bringing them home 'as soon as possible' remained an idea. Because by the time Pa had somehow managed to get into a reliable position with his business, Ma was gone. And Pa had no other choice but to follow her.
Since it would be impossible for a 13 year old to be taking care of her 5 year old brother on her own, Granma decided to take us to her as well. So, we were reunited with Tae and Jimin in her house.
One by one, my little brothers turned 18 and built their own life. Even though I am now a full grown 25 year old woman I still couldn't leave my granma's house. And it is because I couldn't give up on being a parent to the youngest who has still not crossed the line of 18.
"Just wait for one more year and I'll grow up and thrive in this world." Jungkook says that quite a lot lately. Even though it might sound a little selfish, I wish my Jungkookie never grew up. So that I could keep him all to myself like I had been doing for the past 17 years of my life.
But there is a bright side of them finally turning 18. One by one the hyung line among my brothers started to get in touch with me more and more frequently. Finally, after years of separation, I truly feel like I'm getting to be that older sister that I had to be. And I'm happy that they are allowing me to be just that.
You might get a little confused as to why I had complained about them in the beginning of this story as if they were little kids I have to look after when I didn't even get to live with them for that long. Let me get you out of this confusion. It's because now that I finally get to be close enough once again, I realized one very important fact that applies to them all. My brothers haven't really grown up.

Fandom: BTS Pairing: OT7 x Female Reader Genre: Fluff Notes: Itâs a collection of Christmas special one shots of each member in different situation with the reader (not poly). I know, Iâm late. A lot of things were going on and I couldnât manage to write. Sorry about that. Anyway, a very late Merry Christmas to you all...
My already messy apartment now looked messier than ever. As I looked at my tired boyfriend on the couch, I regretted to have agreed to his plan of decorating my place for the Christmas.
âUghâ Namjoon groaned, âmy back hurts so much.â
âDonât forget that it was all your idea.â I reminded him.
Namjoon shook his head, âI didnât think your place was such a trash.â
âWell, you canât blame me.â I shrugged my shoulders, âAt least, I warned you.â
I sat down beside him and put my head on his lap. I could feel that my body ached too. Namjoon started to play with my hair. It was one of his favorite things to do.
I looked up at him, âOr we could stop if you want.â
âNo, darling!â Namjoon smiled, âLike I had promised, weâre going to make this place look like a heaven.â
And we were back at work; dusting and cleaning the floors, walls, ceilings, windows, arranging the misplaced items, collecting the dirty laundry from different corners of the house, putting the books back to the shelves etc.
A short break. Then, we started to work on the decorations. It was my first time decorating a house for Christmas and my excitement was too much. We made the bed with white and red bed sheets, put different flowers and wreaths all around the place and hung special items on the wall.
Finally, it was time for the best thing among all, decorating the Christmas tree. We put on the fairy lights around it, hung little gingerbread men and other cute items on it and lastly, we needed to put the biggest star on top of it.
âItâs too high. I canât reach it.â I said, âAnd also, I donât have a ladder.â
âBut you have me.â Namjoon said with a smile.
I thought he meant to do the job himself as he was much taller than me. But instead, he lifted me up, holding me firmly by my waist. His cheesiness was making me blush. I still managed to set the star in the perfect place.
Taking a look around the place, I was really satisfied with the result. My place had turned to a whole different one. It looked like a heaven indeed. But as soon as my eyes rested on the tree, I frowned.
âSomethingâs missing.â I said.
Namjoon looked at itâs direction, âWhat?â
âOf course,â I gasped, âthe glass baubles.â I facepalmed myself to have forgotten about my favorite piece of decoration. I looked at Namjoon, âCould you please bring it for me? Itâs in my closet.â
Namjoon went straight to the bedroom. As he was returning with the box full of red and white glass baubles on his hands with a smile that showed his dimples, I remembered just how much I loved him.
But the next thing he did was tripping and falling to the floor along with the box full of red and white glass baubles. The smile that had grown on my face earlier disappeared within a second as I heard the glasses being shattered inside. I remembered just how much I hated his clumsiness sometimes.
âIâm so...â Namjoon began but I cut him off.
âDonât speak.â I said boldly. âItâs done anyway.â
I raged out of the living room and sat down on my bed. I realized I was very exhausted by all the works I had done this evening and I just wanted to sleep. I tried to clear my head. I didnât want to think of the disaster that just happened.
I could hear Namjoon cleaning up the mess outside. It sort of broke my heart. Minutes later, he peaked into my room. I still couldnât bring myself to say anything. He came to sit beside me and said, âIâm sorry.â
âI know.â I answered.
He placed a soft kiss on my cheek and said again, âIâm sorry.â It was one of my favorite things that he did. I still didnât budge.
He kissed me once again and said, âIâm really sorry, darling.â He was whining like a little child at this point. And I couldnât help but laugh. Namjoonâs worried face beamed with relief.
âAlright!â I said, âI think we can go one Christmas without glass baubles.â
I was weeping for the past few minutes as the nostalgia of my childhood hit really hard. Earlier I had found an old diary of my grandma while cleaning the house. There werenât much personal but more like important business stuffs written on it.
But among them, I had found my grandmaâs recipe for making the famous gingerbread house we used to make every Christmas. Reading that reminded me of my late grandma and our memories together. I couldnât help but cry at the sudden overwhelming feeling in my heart.
My fiancĂŠ, Jin, came back from work at that time. As soon as he saw me he called, âJagi!â I quickly wiped away the tears and tried to smile at him. I didnât mean for him to see me like that.
He held me in his arms and asked, âIs everything okay?â
âYeah!â I sniffed, âIâm fine.â
âWhat is it, jagi?â He looked at me again, trying to read my face. Then he suddenly gasped, âOh my God!â
I looked up at him in confusion. He beamed with sudden joy and asked the dumbest possible question, âAre we going to have a baby? Are you pregnant?â
âWhat? NO!â I was shocked at his stupidity, âItâs just that I found my grandmaâs diary and it reminded me of her.â
Jin just replied with an âOh!â
I went back to my bed and held up the page of the recipe for him to see. He took the diary from me and checked it. The recipe was cut out from an old newspaper and there were hand written notes of my grandma everywhere, making changes where she had thought was necessary.
Jin let out a chuckle and said, âJagi, this sounds like a lot of fun. We should try it this Christmas.â
I was so glad to hear that. âReally?â Â I asked, âDo you think you can do that?â
âOf course!â Jin said with confidence, âThough I wonât say it will be exactly like your grandmaâs one. But I will do my best.â
Even though I wasnât very good at baking, I still tried to help Jin in every possible way. I bought the groceries myself and prepared all the necessary utensils needed for the procedure. I also promised Jin that I would do the dishes once everything was done.
Jin started to work, yelling me orders in between. But my mood was too good to be ruined by his little insults. I worked rather enthusiastically. I stirred the mixture on the stove, batted the dough, cut the little doors and windows, even helped Jin with the icing.
After hours of much works, it was done. The house had been decorated perfectly. It looked almost like my grandmaâs. I clicked a picture before cutting the gingerbread house. At first bite, the smell instantly reminded me of older times, though the taste wasnât exactly the same.
âWhat do you think?â Jin asked curiously.
âItâs great.â I nodded, âThank you so much for doing this.â I wrapped my hands around his neck. âTell me what can I offer you in return?â
âYou know exactly what I want.â Jin smirked at me.
I gasped, âYou mean, a baby?â
Jin gave me a warm smile and spoke, âNope. I want you to do the dishes, instead.â
âSo tell me, why am I finding it out just now and that too, from Hoba?â I could hear Yoongi from the other side of the phone call. His voice suggested that he was really annoyed.
Basically what happened was this; Yoongi was delaying his Christmas plan, which was to be with his family, because I had no one for my Christmas celebration this year. Since, it was our first Christmas after getting together, Yoongi wasnât very happy leaving me alone. But I had forced him to go because his family had been planning for a special party and it wouldnât look nice if their youngest son was absent there.
But the worst happened. I fell sick the day before Christmas. It was a seasonal sickness for me but still pretty bad, as always, to handle. The fever and the blocked nose wasnât making me feel very Christmas in my lonely hours. Still, I didnât want to spoil Yoongiâs mood. So naturally, I kept my mouth shut.
âI thought I could trust Hobi for once.â I said, equally annoyed.
Yoongi sighed. âIs it too bad?â his voice was soft now.
âNo!â It was definitely a lie since I could feel that a headache was also added to my list of discomforts.
âYou shouldnât have forced me to come to this party.â Yoongi said, âI would rather be with you.â Before I could say anything he already hung up.
As the hours ticked by I realized how terribly lonely I felt. Yoongi was in a whole different city and my own family was at the opposite side of the continent. I was also hungry but wasn't in a shape to make anything for myself. So, I called the Pizza place near my house and ordered my favorite one, the pepperoni.
The bell rang. I had to get up from the bed and slowly head towards the door. My whole body ached even at the slightest effort. But behind the door, I didnât meet the delivery guy but my boyfriend instead.
âYoongi?â I was surprised.
He shook his head in mere annoyance and hold up the huge bags he was carrying on both of his hands. âLet me put this things down first.â
He went straight to the dining room and put the bags on the table. I still couldnât believe it. Yoongi had driven more than a hundred kilometers road on the Christmas Eve and he left his family to be with me instead.
Yoongi turned to me and said. âLetâs eat the food before it gets cold.â
That was when I hugged him right away. Yoongi let out a sigh and a few seconds later, he embraced me into his arms.
I was overwhelmed by his presence in my lonely state. I took in the warmth and his familiar soothing scent. The smell of his perfume mixed with the after-shave was intoxicating.
I finally let go and informed, âBut Iâve already ordered Pizza.â
Yoongi smiled, âA little more food during Christmas wonât hurt.â
The table was set and the hot food served. We ate and talked and laughed and cried out of too much laughter. It was such a merry time that I almost forgot I was sick.
But my fever rose at the end of the night and I was curled up in my bed, shivering. Yoongi touched my forehead to detect the amount of heat and frowned. Then, he went to the kitchen to prepare something special.
Peppermint tea, something I never quite liked. But as I had a cold and the tea was warm, I accepted it rather gratefully. A soft âthank youâ left my mouth as I took the cup from his hands. Yoongi sat beside me and watched quietly as I sipped my tea. I wondered what I had ever done to deserve this.
Shopping for all of them who were coming to our Christmas party was exhausting. But the worse was wrapping them in gift papers by ourselves. Since it was our first Christmas together after we had moved in together, my boyfriend Hoseok wanted it to be a special one. And hand-wrapped gifts sounded special indeed.
âDo you have any idea how long weâve been doing this, Hobi?â I asked, a little annoyance in my voice.
âCâmon, goldie!â Hoseok said in the cutest tone, âDonât talk like that. We should be doing this with joy.â
âJoy, my foot.â I muttered.
âUh-uh.â Hobi did another cute sound effect while moving his index finger side to side, indicating I shouldnât have said that.
I didnât respond. Instead, I walked out of the living room to my bedroom. I waited for a moment to see if Hobi followed me. When I was sure he had gone back to work, I did what I had been planning the whole evening to do.
I hid Hobiâs Christmas gift, a fancy watch, which I had bought secretly from the shop today, in his closet. So that, next morning he would find them himself while Iâd be fast asleep.
Then, I went back to work along with my hard working boyfriend. We finished them all by midnight and arranged them neatly under the Christmas tree. Wishing each other merry Christmas and kissing goodbye, we went to bed.
âHolly Molly!â Hobi exclaimed in the morning and I woke up with a start. âWhat did my little bumble bee bought without me knowing, huh?â
I sat on the bed and smiled, âCheck it yourself, my little sunflower.â
Hobi opened up the present, giggling like a little child. His eyes were shining when he saw what was inside.
âDid you like it?â I asked.
Hobi beamed at me and said, âWhat are you talking about? Itâs fabulous.â
Everyone was busy searching for their gift and opening them. There was a lot of chaos among our family and friends. Watching them liking what we had got them, made me feel like it was all worth it.
âHey!â Taehyung called me, âHereâs one addressed to you too.â
âFor me?â I asked. At first, I was a little confused. But then, I realized that Hobi had planned to hid my gift among all the others. I took the small box from Taehyung.
Hobi hugged me before I could open it and whispered in my ears, âMerry Christmas, honey!â Inside the box was a ring. My head stopped working for a while. Looking back at Hobi, I almost teared up.
He was on his knees.
Christmas this year was full of snow. And there was no way we could step out of our house in this weather. So, Jimin and I had planed for a movie marathon night. Being the movie freak as I was, the job of selecting the best movies came to me.
You could imagine how pissed I was when Jimin started to act uninterested through the second movie. At first, he tried talking in between scenes. When I refused to join his unfitting conversation, he started to complain about how all the movies I chose were so boring, even though it was âHome Aloneâ which we were watching at that time.
âYou can go and sleep.â I said, âIâm gonna finish my boring marathon alone tonight. And Iâm perfectly happy to do away with you.â
âWhat?â Jimin pretended to look cute while being shocked, âyouâre abandoning me for these movies?â I gave a stiff nod and he started to whine and threw a tantrum like a child.
âActing cute will take you nowhere, Park Jimin.â I stated flatly.
He put his head on my lap and said with a smirk, âBut it took me to your heart.â
âStop being a cringe and move out of the way.â I pushed his head.
After minutes of doing puppy eyes and pouty faces, when I still didnât budge, Jimin walked away from me. But he was back within a minute wearing his night gown which I had commented he looked sexy in ages ago.
âWhat does it suppose to mean?â I raised one of my eyebrows.
âIt means,â Jimin threw himself on the couch next to me dramatically and said, âIâm getting ready for bed.â The last word, he said in a whisper, clearly indicating the obvious.
I scoffed in reply and kept my eyes fixed on the TV. Jimin moved on the couch in a certain way to get closer and carefully snaked his hands around my waist. I knew what he was capable of doing to me. But I refused to give in.
I slapped his hand and said, âStop bothering me.â
Jimin took away his hands, a frown growing on his forehead. Then, he walked away stomping his feet, muttering âStop this! Stop that!â I almost laughed out loud.
After half an hour of watching the movie alone, I realized it was indeed boring. No offense to my all time favorite âHome Aloneâ but I was missing Jimin beside me. I sighed and turned off the TV.
Jimin was already fast asleep. He looked like an angel in this innocent state of unconsciousness. I could look at him for the whole night and still wouldnât get bored. I smiled to myself.
âMy lovely Jiminie!â
Apparently, five layers of clothes werenât enough to keep you comfortable on a snowy night out on the street. I wasnât foolish enough to have come out into the open at this time either. But unfortunately I had a boyfriend who was extremely stubborn. I knew, I wouldnât be able to lift his mood up the whole Christmas if I didnât come out to play with him in the snow just now.
So, here I was, struggling to throw a single snow ball at my childish boyfriend, who had been continuously throwing enough of them at me by which I could have built a huge snowman.
âPlease!â I begged him as another ball hit my shoulder, âStop it already. Iâm so tired.â
Taehyung came running at me with a smile on his face. âYouâre not fun to play with.â he tried to mock me.
âI know!â I huffed out, âCan we do something else? Something fun?â
Taehyung thought for a moment. Just before I could offer him to play a nice game of monopoly inside our warm room, he yelled in excitement, âLetâs make a snowman!â
âWhat?â I asked in disbelieve, âNo way!â
But Taehyung always had his way. So, we were rather doing what he had suggested instead of what I had thought of even if mine was a rational decision anyone would have agreed upon.
Building a snowman was harder than it looked. I remembered to have done it when I was just a kid. Those times, I always had my sisters and parents to help me. The shapes were never right. Taehyung wasnât satisfied with them at all and we had to rebuild it from the base every time.
Finally, we managed to make the perfectly symmetrical balls, the upper one half the size of itâs base. Taehyung nodded his approval and I sighed in relief. I was grateful that Taehyung let me do the most interesting works; putting the buttons, eyes, mouth and the carrot for a nose. I finished the final task perfectly and looked back at my boyfriend.
And there it was. The boxy smile. When my eyes stopped at his perfectly wide grinning face, I felt like the time had slowed down. The snow was falling rather dramatically. My surrounding suddenly looked more romantic than it did even a few minutes ago.
Taehyung looked at me and tilted his head in confusion. âBaby?â he called, âWhy are you staring at me like that?â
I suddenly realized what I was doing. I chuckled and shook my head to let out those romantic thoughts away. I decided that the romance could wait. Instead, I let his inner child enjoy this rare moment for now.
Finally, the party was over and all the boring people left the house. When I had done my share of cleaning up, my mother allowed me to go to bed. I picked up my phone as soon as I reached my room and locked the door.
âOh shit!â I swore. Five missed calls and a text! And all of them were from the same person; Jeon Jungkook.
Jungkook was my neighbor and I had known him for a year. I had liked him since day one. Little did I know that he had liked me as well until last week when he had asked me to be his girlfriend. Naturally, I said yes. But over the week, I got to know the Jungkook behind those doe eyes and bunny smile. He was quite stubborn and possessive in nature.
Five missed calls on Christmas Eve from him could mean disaster. I hastily checked the text.
âI donât want to be that clingy boyfriend asking for attention when youâre having fun. So, Iâm texting you instead. Merry Christmas.â
I got the tone of the message. Jungkook had a habit of always ending a text with calling me love. But he hadnât done that here. Especially when it was supposed to be a merry Christmas text. That was not a good sign.
Since I had a pretty strict family, the fact that I had a boyfriend before I graduated high school was a secret. So, I checked whether my parents had already gone to bed or not before calling Jungkook right away.
âWow!â I heard Jungkook speak, âYou remembered me!â
âIâm so sorry. kookie!â I pleaded in a half whisper. âThere were so many people. And you know my mother. She doesnât allow phones in front of the guests.â
Jungkook remained silent for a while. Then he spoke again, âI wanna meet.â
âWhat?â I raised my voice unexpectedly, âYou mean, now?â
âYes!â Jungkook said, âDonât you dare say no! Iâm not going to bed without seeing you.â
I thought for a moment. Everyone was tired as hell. There was no way my mother would come to check on me at this time. I decided I would take this risk. âCâmon!â I told myself, âItâs Christmas!â
âLove?â Jungkook called.
âMeet me at the store.â I said, âAnd donât forget to buy me Cheetos.â
Jungkook was waiting with a packet of Cheetos by the store door. A big smile spread across his face when he saw me. I gave him a quick hug and started complaining about how bored I was during the whole party and how much I had thought of him.
Jungkook kept on smiling and feeding me the Cheetos in between as I was too busy ranting about my misery. I stopped when I realized that Jungkook hadnât spoken at all.
âDonât keep staring at me like that.â I said.
Jungkook chuckled and said, âI can spend a whole lifetime hearing you talk.â
âThat was cringey!â I said as I felt heat rushing to my cheeks.
âLook!â Jungkook pointed up to a mistletoe hanging above the store door. âItâs not every Christmas you get to stand under the mistletoe with your boyfriend by your side.â
I knew exactly what he meant. I was rather doubting if it was a coincidence at this point. The thought of Jungkook wanting a kiss from me sent a shiver down my spine. I looked down in embarrassment.
âWait a minute!â Jungkook said, âHavenât you ever kissed under a mistletoe before?â
âActually,â I mumbled, âIâve never kissed anyone before.â
A visible shocking expression spread on Jungkookâs face. When recovered, he cleared his throat, âLet me be your first, then.â
Carefully, he closed the distance between us. Then, he cupped my face on his hands and asked, âMay I?â
When I nodded my âyesâ, he gently kissed my lips. He let go and whispered softly, âMerry Christmas, love.â

They had escaped to the wood, made fire to keep themselves warm and hunted down animals to prepare for supper. Hoseok was lying on the ground, his head rested on Yoongiâs lap. Namjoon and Seokjin sat silently with them. The other âBulletproofâ boys were spending time with the escaped prisoners. There were two vampires, a werewolf, three demigods, two elves and a satyr.
Taehyung was found to be alright and not badly hurt. He had recognized the werewolf from when he was a prisoner himself and they started a conversation. Jungkook talked with the vampires to learn about his servants; those who had been caught. He found out that they had been killed during the experiments. Jimin stayed quiet the whole time.
Meanwhile, Yoongi kept muttering a spell in an attempt to heal his unconscious friend of the wound that had been left on his back. But it didnât seem to be working properly. Namjoon came closer and Yoongi noticed the tears on his cheeks.
Namjoon gently wiped them away with his hand and placed it on Hoseokâs back. Light sparkled through Hoseokâs wound for a moment. Then, it healed completely. Yoongi gasped in shock.
âI almost forgot,â Yoongi said, âYou were an angel once.â
Namjoon nodded but remained silent. It was a common knowledge that an angelâs tears can heal any wound. Yoongi being an educated wizard, should have known that.
Seokjin stood up and announced, âI think, this is the time I part. I had caused enough trouble to you all. I know Iâve done something terrible and itâs beyond forgiveness. But if you can, please forget my mistakes and remember only the good parts of our journey together. Do this for the old timeâs sake.â
âBut you canât just go away that easily.â Namjoon said boldly.
Seokjin was taken aback. Namjoon never sounded this serious before. Not even at the worst time possible.
Namjoon stood in front of him, arms crossed, and said, âDid you forget the iconic âOnce you Jim-in, you canât Jim-outâ line?â
Yoongi let out a small laugh. Seokjin couldnât believe it. Namjoon was not mad at him. In fact, he was making jokes. He was even okay with him being on the team.
The golden trio had come towards them. Hearing Seokjin wanting to leave, Jungkook whined, "Hyung, you canât leave us like that.â
âEspecially, not after saving us like a hero.â Jimin said, while hanging a hand on Jungkookâs shoulder. âWe are not gonna let you be the main character of the story.â
Yoongi pleaded, âJust let us know the truth. When did you go against us exactly? Donât say it was since the beginning.â
Seokjin shook his head. Tears were threatening to come out of his eyes at the surprisingly kind reactions from the others. But he told them the truth anyway.
He told them, how he was once a normal boy living with his Goddess mother and mortal father. Until one day, Aphrodite decided to take him away to the Mount Olympus. Being a kid, he always wondered what the reason could be. He was sure of one thing; his mother was indifferent to him. She never showed love or affection towards him.
As he grew up, the longing for his father, who once used to love the boy so much, became stronger. Then, one day, Seokjin decided to escape Mount Olympus with the help of some other Gods. By his own wits, he was able to come down to the earth. He had been searching for his father since then.
âBut then, I met Yoongi.â Seokjin said, âWhen I heard about his plan of bringing down the OHA, I decided to stay with the team in hope of finding my father. But I swear, I didnât know he was the CEO of this fucked up institution. I donât know what got into me when I agreed to help him. I believed him to be a good man. I never imagined he could be so cruel.â
âEveryone believes their father is a good man.â Taehyung sighed.
Suddenly, one of the elves came to interrupt them, âDonât you think it would be wiser to leave the wood and go to a safe place?â
They exchanged some worried looks. Even though the OHA facility was being destroyed, all thanks to Seokjinâs explosion, they couldnât be sure if their enemies were really gone or not. They couldnât go back to their abandoned building and risk being attacked.
The elf continued, âI know a place. Itâs the safest of places for beings like us. We should go to the âARMYâ.â
âARMY?â The âBulletproofâ boys asked in union.
Aid and Refuge for Mortals by Youths, in short ARMY, was a secret society formed by young people who believed in equality among humans and other intelligent beings. The members of this organization called themselves ARMY too. Being less in number and power, they ran their rescue missions of saving the non-humans from the OHA secretly. And these secret missions were the reason behind the OHAâs failures at the recent times.
The elf knew their hideout very well. He was on his way to seek help from them when he was caught by the wizards almost a year ago. Now, he led his rescuers and the fellow prisoners to the only safe place there was on earth.
There were minutes of confusion among the ARMY seeing a large number of non-humans gathering outside. Soon after Namjoon explained the situation clearly, the ARMY let themselves in.
They were then taken to the leader of the organization. Her name was Linha. Despite her tall figure and intimidating face, she was quite friendly and kind. She welcomed them with overwhelming joy and learned about each of them individually. Her eyes got teary as she learned how they had managed to escape the OHA and exploded their laboratories before coming to them.
âYou did the impossible.â Linha exclaimed. It was her usual way of talking. âI canât believe you did something in such a short time which we had been planning for so long.â
âAll thanks to Seokjin.â Namjoon said, âHe did almost everything.â
âYeah,â Seokjin scoffed at himself, still not over the guilt he was feeling for betraying his friends, âafter ruining our original plan completely.â
There were so many ARMY and other non-humans inside the pretty huge hideout. The âBulletproofâ boys almost couldnât believe the fact that so many humans were on their side and they were willing to fight for their freedom. They had spent most of their lives being afraid of the humans that accepting them as their friends was something they found difficult.
They learned that there were more humans out there on earth who believed in the equality too but couldnât voice out their opinion in fear of the OHA. Some of them were even helping the ARMY with whatever they could offer, ranging from shelter for some beings to providing medical supports.
In order to celebrate the official downfall of the OHA, they arranged a huge feast for themselves along with the new comers. Everyone ate and drank to the fullest. The music was turned on and they danced and sang out their hearts.
Then, Linha made a great announcement, âFrom now on, we wonât hide anymore. We will declare our victory over the OHA. We will reveal it to the whole world that from today, we all live in unity. Humans, vampires, werewolves, elves, satyrs, centaurs, demigods,â she glanced at Hoseok for a while and added, âangels and many more. We all live in harmony and without fear.â
They all cried out with full of enthusiasm. But suddenly there was a blast. It made their whole ceiling crash. When they looked up, they could make out a figure with huge wings flying down towards them.
âWhat happened to the others?â Kim Joon-Hwi inquired about his guards and wizards.
âTheyâre all dead, sir.â The Master of shadow informed.
The Master was the only one to have escaped the OHA facility after the explosion. He, then, went straight to Kim Joon-Hwi, who had already made his escape after getting his most desired thing, an angelâs wings.
âAre you telling me that you have lost the Gumiho?â Kim Joon-Hwi asked, his tone deep and serious. When the Master looked down without replying, Kim Joon-Hwi let out a terrible laugh, âHow will I survive after attaching the wings on myself if I failed to kill the Gumiho?â
The real reason for his desperation for the Gumiho was that, a Gumiho was the most powerful being to exist on earth. And if he had to attach the angel wings on himself in order to be as powerful as the Gods, he needed to kill someone powerful first.
âSir,â The master spoke, âI think we should wait. I promise to find that Gumiho as soon as I can.â
âNo!â Kim Joon-Hwi said rather calmly this time, âI have waited long enough.â The Master was about to interrupt but he held his hand up to silence him, âYou have done enough all these years. In fact, itâs the result of your research that I am now going to be the most powerful.â
He went closer and rested his hand on the Masterâs shoulder. The Master bowed in gratitude for the appreciation. But the next moment, he felt a sharp pain on his back. He fell to the ground with a loud groan when he realized that he had been stabbed.
âYou think I didnât know who killed the last Gumiho on our laboratory?â Kim Joon-Hwi stated to the dying man before him. âI know why you had joined the company in the first place. You wanted power.â Then, he laughed manically and added, âKilling a powerful wizard like you will serve my purpose.â
The Master of Shadow struggled to say his last words, âYoongi. Was. Right.â
But Kim Joon-Hwi didnât pay any heed to it. He kneeled down to whisper, âGoodbye to you! From now on, you can rest all you want.â
Kim Joon-Hwi looked deadly with the wings on his back. The veins on his body had popped up within his skin. His eyes were red and they glowed when he shouted or showed any excitement. The wind he created by flapping his wings can overthrow Jiminâs old hut in a second.
âFather?â Seokjin whispered in disbelief.
âEveryone, grab your weapons!â Linha shouted her instructions at others. Then, they all were busy getting hold onto a weapon they could find.
âFools!â Kim Joon-Hwi screamed, âI am inevitable now. Accept me as your new God if you donât wish to die.â
Seokjin tried to step forward to speak to him. But Yoongi held him back and said, âNot now! Heâs more dangerous than ever before.â
âButâŚâ Seokjin was interrupted by a sudden explosion. An Army had thrown a bomb at the monster. But he soon came out of the smoke, laughing gigantically, proving his statement earlier.
The ARMY knew that it was too late. There was no way they could win against this monster. But they were not going to give up. They would rather die fighting. And with that mindset, they jumped.
No explosion, bullets or arrows could penetrate his skin. On the other hand, the ARMYs and the supernaturals were badly hurt. Some of them were already dead. Seokjin looked around the miseries. His heart clenched inside when he noticed one of his friend taking a flight to fight his monstrous father face to face.
âNamjoon!â Seokjin called to stop him.
âWhy donât you fight someone your equal, instead?â Namjoon yelled at Kim Joon-Hwi, who was pointing at a satyr with a gun on his hand.
He looked back at Namjoon and snarled at him, âDid you just compared me with yourself, you pathetic devil?â
âWhy?â Namjoon smirked, âAre you scared?â
Without a delay, Kim Joon-Hwi launched himself on him and they flew away from the sight of the rest.
âNo!â Seokjin screamed, âNamjoon, please come back.â
But they were nowhere to be seen. All around, the only sounds were of the burning and wailing of the injured. Everyone got busy helping out the wounded. Some of them were even grateful that the monster had spared them some time. Some were mourning for the death of their closed ones.
Hoseok collected the âBulletproofâ boys from the crowd one by one and made sure none of them were hurt. They reached Seokjin last. Taehyung called, âThank God, youâre here.â
âWhereâs Namjoon?â Jimin asked. But Seokjin didnât answer. Jungkook and Taehyung gasped as they realized Namjoon was the one who had driven away that monster.
Suddenly, Jimin sat on the ground. All of their attentions shot to him. âI think⌠I see something.â He said. He shut his eyes closed tightly, his brows furrowed.
Yoongi went closer to sit beside him, âIs it a vision?â
Jimin nodded violently and said, âHeâs dead. Kim Joon-Hwiâs dead. AndâŚâ He stopped for a while. He looked as if he were concentrating on a scene with his eyes closed.
âWho killed him?â Yoongi asked. Everyone paid more attention.
âI can see wings.â
âAn angel?â Yoongi asked in disbelief, glancing at Hoseok for a while.
Jimin opened his eyes abruptly and gasped, âNamjoon.â He declared, âNamjoonâs the angel who was supposed to bring the demise of the OHA.â
Namjoon stood at the entrance door, Hoseokâs formal wings hanging on his hands. He looked exhausted, which was rarely visible on his face. Jungkook ran to hug him without a delay.
Namjoon spoke to the others after Jungkook released him, âKim Joon-Hwiâs dead. We have nothing to fear anymore.â
Everyone cheered and shouted in excitement. Some of them patted Namjoon on his back and thanked him. After minutes of celebrating the good news, everyone went back to their business; fixing the aftermath of the short but terrible battle.
The dawn had broken. Seokjin sat at the edge of the lake and gazed at the rising sun. Namjoon came to sit beside him. Seokjin glanced at him and looked back at the sun again. He said, âYouâre the true hero. Youâve saved everyone.â
âIâm sorry for your loss.â Namjoon said in a low voice.
Seokjin let out a fake laugh and said, âDonât apologize. You did the right thing. If I had done it earlier, Hoseok still would have his wings. Not to mention how many people could have been saved.â
âDo you want to know what happened exactly?â Namjoon hesitantly asked.
âSurprisingly, yes!â Seokjin turned to face him, âIâm still stupid enough to care to know how my father died.â
Namjoon nodded understandingly and said, âI gave him a chance to save himself, you know, for your sake. But he said, he would rather die than live with the pity of a devil.â Namjoon let out a painful laughter.
A tear escaped Seokjinâs eyes as he spoke, âHe would definitely choose his pride over me. And Iâm not even surprised. After all, it wasnât the first time.â
âIâm sorry you couldnât have the happily ever after with your family.â Namjoon said.
The other âBulletproofâ boys joined the couple. They sat down quietly and enjoyed the sun rise. At a point, Taehyung asked Seokjin, âAre you going back to your mother now?â
Seokjin didnât reply. Instead, he asked Hoseok, âWhy arenât you going back to the heaven?â
Hoseok shrugged and said, âThereâs nothing to go back to. Iâve already found my true family here on earth.â He rested his head on Yoongiâs shoulder.
Seokjin looked back at Taehyung and smiled. âExactly.â He whispered, which brought out the best box smile on Taehyungâs face.
âI want to say something.â Jungkook mumbled, âI donât know if I can ever say this if not today.â
Everyone looked up at him as he slowly rose up to stand. He continued with a heavy voice, âAs far as I can remember, I was just a vampire with thirst for blood only. I didnât have a family or even friends. The only thing I cared about was surviving. I never knew how much I was missing out on life until⌠Until I met Jimin and Taehyung. They took me in as their own. Then, you guys showed up. I learned what it is to actually live and not just survive. I am eternally grateful to you for that.â He paused for a moment before adding, âI⌠I love you, guys.â
They looked at him in admiration. They had never heard Jungkook opening up about his feelings to them at any time throughout their times together. Hearing him speaking such words melted their hearts.
Jimin went straight to hug him, âIâm glad Iâve found you that night.â Taehyung joined from behind. Hoseok stood up and said, âGuys, my eyes are sweating. Help!â before going for the hug too. Yoongi tailed him from behind as well. Namjoon gestured Seokjin to join the group hug. Seokjin smiled and did as he was asked to.
Finally, it was Namjoon to join them last. As he did, he slowly spread out his huge black wings to shelter the members on the inside.
Note: Thank you to everyone for sticking with me till the end. Thank you for taking your precious time to read my story. Thank you for all the little feedbacks you had left. It means a lot to me. By the way, it was my first proper series. I finished it in a hurry due to an upcoming exam. And I am a little disappointed coz it didnât come out as Iâve expected. But I hope to improve my writings in the future.

The sirens went off, making it hard to hear one another properly. They had come out of the tunnel. But there were guards and wizards all around, coming at them with their weapons.
Namjoon turned to Yoongi and shouted through the deafening noise of the alarm, âWe will fight them. You search for Hoseok.â
When Yoongi was about to leave, Namjoon grabbed his hand and added, âLook for Seokjin too.â Yoongi nodded and ran towards the stairs.
Namjoon looked at the remaining members by his side, the latest to join their team, âthe golden trioâ as they liked to call them. He tried to put on a smile on his face as he said, âNo matter what happens today, know this; if we go down, we go down fighting!â
âFighting!â Jimin and Jungkook shouted in union while Taehyung, being in his wolf form, howled. Then they all jumped on their enemies.
Namjoon spread out his huge black wings and took a flight. From above, he could clearly see everyoneâs position. Even though inside a building, it looked like a battle field. He thought to himself, âSo, this is how it feels to be in a real battle.â
Jungkook aimed for the guards with the wooden arrows first and started to disarm them one by one. Because of his amazing speed, the guards failed to catch up with him. But, the number of guards were too many for a single vampire to handle.
Namjoon got down with a huge force and caused some guards to fall back. He used his wings to disarm a bunch of them all at once. Jungkook looked at him in awe for a moment before going back to fight again. Despite their situation, it brought a smile on Namjoonâs face.
The wizards and guards were mostly focusing on Jimin. But his swift movements helped him to escape their traps. He dodged almost every bullets being fired at him.
Taehyung, on the other hand, jumped at those Jimin had failed to notice. He attacked them suddenly, making them miss their targets.
They were handling it well until the âMaster of Shadowâ appeared. They didnât notice his approach. He made his way directly to Jimin through the messy fight. Then, he placed his thumb on Jiminâs forehead, making him still instantly.
Jimin looked around in panic as his surrounding changed abruptly. Wherever he looked, all he could see were large trees. It didnât make any sense to him. How could he be teleported into a whole different place in a second?
âJimin-ah!â a familiar voice spoke from behind him.
Jimin looked back at the owner of the voice. Even before he saw the face, he knew very well whom it belonged to. âSarang?â he called, disbelief spread on his face as he looked at the person he once used to call the âlove of his lifeâ.
The girl raised her hand towards him. Jimin reached to touch her hand, doubting that his hand might go right through it. But it was solid as it could be. Jimin sighed in relief.
The girl slowly led him out of the forest into a path. âWhere are you taking me?â as soon as the question left his mouth, he knew the answer immediately.
He knew exactly where she was leading him to. He knew exactly what was going to happen next. He had lived this precise moment. He had lived it more than a hundred years ago.
âNo!â he wanted to scream. He wanted to stop walking. He wanted to take away his hand from her. But none of his actions seemed to belong to him anymore. He was, as if, a puppet made to do whatever the puppeteer wished to be done.
He was brought to the middle of the bazaar of a village. The girl let go of his hand and ran away to a nearby house. One by one, the villagers appeared in front of him, each holding a torch made out of fire. Jimin was surrounded by monsters. He was surrounded by humans.
The leader among them shouted, âLetâs free our forest of this monsterâs control. Letâs burn the Gumiho down.â And they all raised their torches towards the sky before coming at him. He was going to be burned. There wasnât enough time for him to make it rain to stop the fire.
Suddenly, Jimin remembered. These people belonged to the past. They were all dead now. Jimin, himself, had killed them. He had made his escape from them, burning the whole village down in the process.
Jimin forced his eyes shut and concentrated really hard. A memory suddenly peaked at his mindâs eyes. It was of him and the âBulletproofâ boys on a cold snowy day. They were gathered before the fireplace, all wrapped up inside a single huge blanket.
He remembered that he was supposed to be at the OHA facility with his friends, fighting a new group of humans. He needed to come back to reality. He needed to save his friends and himself.
Jimin opened his eyes.
Yoongi kept searching aimlessly through the empty second floor corridor and the rooms within. It seemed like every member of the OHA had gone to fight his friends.
He was worried about them. But mostly, he was worried about Hoseok. He had promised to protect him at all cost. But those monsters had taken him away in front of Yoongi. And Yoongi couldnât do anything about it.
He kept muttering the freezing spell under his breath in case any guard showed up. He stopped abruptly in front of a seemingly empty room. Hoseok was lying on the floor, eyes closed, in a pool of blood.
Yoongi immediately ran towards him and kneeled down. Blood stained his arms and clothes. As he took Hoseokâs head on his lap, Hoseok opened his eyes slowly. Tears were glistening on his eyes and cheeks.
âYou came?â Hoseok said, his voice merely a whisper.
Yoongi stared at him silently. It was too late. They had cut off his wings. Yoongi had failed his friend once again. At that precise moment, nothing seemed to matter to Yoongi anymore. He would have gladly ceased to exist if given the chance.
âThey had taken my wings away.â Hoseok said, as if he was informing about someoneâs death. A moment of silence passed between them. Then, Hoseok continued, âGo get him before he uses my wings on himself. He would hurt you once he became too powerful.â
A tear fell from Yoongiâs eye. How could Hoseok think about them being hurt when he, himself, was surrounded by his own blood?
âItâs all my fault.â Yoongi said, âI shouldnât have brought any of you to fight these monsters.â
Hoseok raised his head closer to Yoongiâs chest. He hugged Yoongi around the neck and said, âThanks to you I realized that some things are worth fighting for. I fought for my friends. And Iâm glad that I did. Even if it caused me to lose the most precious part of myself.â
Hearing Hoseok saying those words hurt Yoongi even more. He couldnât control himself anymore. He hugged onto Hoseok and started to sob, whispering softly, âIâm sorry, my friend. Please, forgive me for I couldnât keep my promise.â
âDonât you worry, now. Iâm not afraid anymore. Iâm happy to die on my friendâs arms.â Hoseok whispered back.
Yoongi shook his head, wiping his tears with one hand and holding Hoseok tightly with the other, âNo! Youâre not going to die. Not today!â
Jimin opened his eyes only to find himself being chained up and sitting on the floor. The sound of the alarm and that of the fighting had stopped. The sudden silence scared him. He looked around for his friends.
Among some dead and unconscious guards and wizards lying all around, Jimin saw Jungkook. He was bleeding through his arms, where an arrow was still stuck inside. Namjoon was by his side, spreading his wings around in an attempt to shield him from the approaching guards.
Jiminâs eyes desperately searched for his best friend. How could he not notice the big black wolf in the crowd? Then, he saw him. Taehyung, in his human form, was lying on the far corner. His body showed no movements at all. It was hard to tell from Jiminâs place if he was still alive or not.
Jimin tried to get rid of the chains. But the more he struggled to free himself, the more the chains seemed to be tightening around his hands and legs. A faint glow of red light appeared from it every time he moved.
âItâs no use.â The âMaster of Shadowâ announced, making Jimin yelped as he didnât notice him in front of him all this time. âOnly someone whoâs not bound to those chains can free you.â
Then, the Master looked around. The place looked exactly like an aftermath of a huge battle. He shook his head, âWhat a pitiable state youâve landed yourselves in!â
âLet them go.â Jimin stated, âYou need me the most. I promise I wonât try to resist to anything you do to me. But in return you have to free them and never go after them again.â
âThatâs right!â The Master sighed heavily, âWe need you. But itâs only a matter of time before youâll be killed. Canât you see? Youâre in no position to negotiate.â
âI beg you, then.â Jimin pleaded, almost tearing up at the thought of his friends being hurt, âKill me if you have to. But let my friends go. You have no use of them anymore.â
The âMaster of Shadowâ continued as if Jimin hadnât spoken, âYour friends, on the other hand, will answer for all the damage they had caused us.â
âBold of you to assume that weâre done already.â Someone shouted from behind the âMasterâ. Before, he could look back, a rope pulled him with an incredible speed, making him sit on a chair with a heavy thump. Then, he was tied up to the chair by the rope in a flash. âAs far as I know, not even the strongest wizard can cut through the rope of Hestia.â
âSeokjin!â Jimin called in excitement. Seokjin smiled at his friend but couldnât greet him back as the guards those were guarding Namjoon and Jungkook, noticed him. As soon as they did, they started to fire aimlessly at Seokjin.
But he moved away instantly from his friends. And the guards followed. When they had gone into a minimum safe distance from the injured creatures, Seokjin took out something from his pocket and threw it at the guards and wizards. Immediately there was a huge blast and the smoke took over their surrounding.
Seokjin made the best of the brief moment. He quickly unchained Jimin and they both ran towards Taehyung. âCan you carry him out?â Seokjin asked Jimin and he nodded.
Namjoon and Jungkook were already on the move. At that time, others came running through the stairs. They were afraid that more guards had come to stop them.
But to their surprise, they saw that those were the previous prisoners of the OHA. Seokjin had released them, one by one, all this time while his friends were busy fighting the OHA. They saw that with the prisoners, were their beloved friends. Yoongi was carrying an unconscious Hoseok in a bridal way.
âMake it quick.â Seokjin urged them to go out before the guards and the wizards gain their stabilities back.
They all run through the exit door and come out into the open. âCâmon! Through the forest!â Seokjin directed them forward, trailing behind them as they go.
He took a one last look at the OHA facility before pressing the button on the remote in his hand, making the whole building explode with an ear-splitting roar.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9 - Chapter 10 Â [Complete]
Yoongi knew the way to the cell where they kept their new prisoners. He disguised himself in the form of a guard and made his way to Hoseok. As he reached the dim lighted room, the first thing that caught his eyes were Hoseokâs huge white wings. He was curled up inside it and sleeping rather peacefully.
âHoseok!â Yoongi whispered, not wanting to alarm the guards outside, âHoseok, wake up!â
Hoseok opened his eyes and looked at Yoongi with confusion. Yoongi feared that he might start shouting at him again and give away their position. But instead, Hoseok jumped to his feet in excitement and came to hug him through the bars.
âOh, Yoongi!â Hoseok said, âIâm so sorry to have flown away like that. I was being irrational. I should have listened to you.â
âSsh!â Yoongi hushed him down, âWeâll talk later. Iâm going to get you out of here.â Hoseok nodded.
Yoongi noticed that instead of regular lock in the bars, they had put a spell on it, which Yoongi knows pretty well how to undone. It would take some time but it could be done. Yoongi started to draw some letters in the air and they started to glow. The dark room was filled with colorful lights from them.
After almost half an hour, all the glowing letters merged into one and the door opened. Hoseok gasped at the sight of it. He was about to appreciate the skill when there was a clap in front of him behind Yoongi. Both of them yelped in fright.
Kim Joon-Hwi stood there along with his guards and wizards. âWelcome back, Min Yoongi.â He said.
They had been caught. There was only one way Yoongi could delay their inevitable fate. Delay, but not wholly diminish it. Yoongi got inside the cell with Hoseok and produced a purple aurora all around it by a wave of his hand.
Kim Joon-Hwi and his guards looked puzzled. One of the wizards came forward and whispered something on Kim Joon-Hwiâs ear. He let out a chuckle, âAre you trying to shield yourself inside that cell?â
Yoongi didnât answer. Kim Joon-Hwi shook his head, âHow long do you think you can continue this way? You are now my prisoners. And I will get to you soon.â
âIf it werenât for my stupidity, we wouldnât have ended up in here.â Hoseok said.
âThe fault is mine.â Yoongi said, âI shouldnât have kept secrets from you.â
They sat on the floor of the cell that was currently glowing through the light of the aurora produced by Yoongi. Two guards and a wizard were keeping watch at them.
Hoseok sighed deeply, âI learned what had happened to my friend. But I donât blame you. You did everything you could. It was his fate.â
Yoongi couldnât bring himself to say anything. Hoseok continued, ââBut Iâm not as brave as he was. I canât take my own life. TheyâŚThey will take away my wings. And thenâŚâ Hoseok suddenly burst into tears.
Yoongi went to sit closer. He put his hand on Hoseokâs shoulder and said, âI promise, I wonât let that happen to you.â
âBut how?â Hoseok asked while wiping a tear from his cheek.
Suddenly, a big black wolf jumped at the guarding wizard out of nowhere. Yoongi smirked at a shocked Hoseok, âThey are here!â As planned, the âBulletproofâ boys had come to their rescue and they had managed to knock out the guards and the wizard.
âMissed us?â Namjoon asked Hoseok sarcastically which made him laugh out in excitement.
They got out of the cell as quietly as possible without raising any alarm in the other OHA members outside. But it would be rather hard for seven people to sneak out of this huge place without being seen.
âI know a dark tunnel that can lead us outside.â Seokjin suggested, âI used that last time I was here to get out.â
So, Seokjin lead them through a door that said âStaff Onlyâ and once they got inside it, it was all dark. âKeep going straight.â Seokjin said and they followed.
They had been walking through it for some time, when Namjoon asked, âAre you sure, this is the right way?â But Seokjin didnât reply.
They got hit by the wall in front of them announcing that it was a dead end. âWhat theâŚâ Jimin was about to swear when the lights were turned on. As they looked back they found out that they were inside a huge cage, locked up. And Seokjin was standing outside of it.
One by one, the realization hit them; Seokjin had betrayed them. Now, they were all caught by the OHA. All of them at once.
Jungkook grabbed onto the bars of the cage, his eyes full of pain. He called, âHyung!â
Seokjin looked away as tears started to prickle his eyes. He said before leaving, âIâm sorry, guys. I had to do it.â
The day they had come to abduct the âMaster of Shadowâ and Seokjin had followed a guard inside the facility, something happened; which was beyond the otherâs knowledge.
Seokjin ran after the guard and soon got hold of him. But he was an excellent fighter. When the guard injured one of Seokjinâs legs, Seokjin panicked and hit his head with a statue nearby. Immediately, the guard dropped dead.
It was the first time, Seokjin had killed. He kneeled down to inquire if the guard was really dead or not when he heard a voice from behind, âHow did you get inside?â
Seokjin froze. The voice sounded familiar. It sent a shiver down his spine. What he saw before him as he looked back was something truly astonishing. Seokjin couldnât believe his own eyes.
âFather?â he called, with uncertainty.
Kim Joon-Hwi looked at Seokjin for a moment. Then, recognition came to his eyes. He called back, âSeokjin!â He came forward and embraced him, âOh, my son!â and patted his back.
âIâve found you, father.â Seokjin said, fighting back tears.
âHow are you?â Kim Joon-Hwi asked after releasing him from his arms, âWhat brings you to my lab?â
âYour lab?â Seokjin shook his head in disbelief, âSo, youâre the one whoâs been hunting those creatures?â
âSon!â Kim Joon-Hwi called. He looked like he was hurt by Seokjinâs question. He remained quiet for some time, thinking. Then he added, âAre you calling me a monster now? Did you even ask why Iâve been doing all these?â
âWhy?â Seokjin asked flatly, âTell me, father! Why are you doing this?â
âFor you.â
âFor me?â
âYes, son!â Kim Joon-Hwiâs eyes started to get wet as he continued, âYou remember how your mother had taken you away from me when you were just a child? I begged her not to. But she said that I was just a mere human and so that I wasnât worthy of keeping you, a demigod, all to myself. So, I decided to prove to her that I am worthy of being your father. And this was the only way.â
âNo!â Seokjin shook his head, âThis is not the right way. You canât kill the innocents to get your son back.â
Kim Joon-Hwi nodded his head and said, âI know, son, what you are thinking of me. But trust me, I did it all for you. For us.â
There was silence. Nobody said anything for a long time. Kim Joon-Hwi continued, âDonât you want to have that happy family back again? You, me and your mother? All together with no inequity of power?â
âFamily?â Seokjin whispered. He had wanted it more than anything in his life. âYes!â He finally answered.
âDonât worry, son,â Kim Joon-Hwi said, âWe are closer than you think to finally achieve that. All we need nowâŚâ He paused for a moment. Then he wetted his lips with his tongue and said, âare your friends.â
âMy friends?â Seokjin was bewildered, âAre you asking me to hurt them?â
âNo, son.â He said, âNobody needs to be hurt.â
But Seokjin shook his head in denial, âI canât do this to them. They are my friends.â
Kim Joon-Hwi further said, âBut if I promise not to hurt them, will you bring them here for me, son? For the sake of our broken family?â
Seokjin thought for a moment. His father had been hurting and killing other species all this time, for them. Then, he looked at the dead guard lying on the floor. Hadnât he killed for his friends as well? Werenât they going to kill many more to achieve their own goal?
âYou promise you wonât hurt them?â Seokjin asked for confirmation.
Kim Joon-Hwi hugged him and said, âI promise.â
âI should have known it!â Yoongi was frustrated with himself, âIt was one of us who helped the Master escape.â
âI canât believe we had a spy among us.â Jimin sat down in disbelief.
At that time, Kim Joon-Hwi entered the room followed by his son. Seokjin kept his head down, avoiding eye contacts with his friends. Some guards and wizards entered the room after them.
âMin Yoongi,â Kim Joon-Hwi called, âDidnât I say, you were my prisoner now? I hope you know very well how I punish the traitors.â
Seokjin reminded his father immediately, âFather, youâve promised.â Him addressing the CEO of OHA as father momentarily shocked them all.
âMy son!â He didnât bother looking back at him, âI think there is a lot more you still need to learn. You wonât survive in this world with that naĂŻve brain of yours.â
âIâm not sure I understand.â Seokjin said, his voice sharp.
Kim Joon-Hwi laughed. It sounded deafening to his ears. He said, âWhat you need to understand is that promises are made to broken. You canât trust someone for his words only.â
âFather!â Seokjin called him in frustration.
But Kim Joon-HWi continued, âI need that angelâs wings and the blood of the Gumiho. Only then, I can be more powerful than the Gods and Goddesses above.â
âBut it wasnât about power, was it?â Seokjin asked, desperately wanting his father to say that he didnât mean it, that his decision of betraying his friends wasnât wrong.
âHuh!â Kim Joon-Hwi scoffed, âEverythingâs about power. You think that I have no dignity in me? That I will want to get back with Aphrodite even after she had insulted me for being a mortal?â Then, he yelled, âNo! Iâll make sure the last thing sheâll know before dying is that we, humans, are capable of anything.â
Kim Joon-Hwi ordered the guards and the wizards, âBring the angel out and work on his wings. Be careful! Donât make the same mistake again. I need the wings to be cut out while heâs still alive.â
âNo!â Both Seokjin and Yoongi screamed at the same time. Two guards held Seokjin back as he came forward to attack his father causing him to fall on the ground.
âHow dare you attack me, you little freak?â Kim Joon-Hwi yelled at his son. He told the guards holding onto Seokjin, âLock him away. I will deal with him later.â
âDonât you try hurting my friends!â Namjoon threatened Kim Joon-Hwi, âI will make you pay for every inch of it.â
âThink about saving yourself, you devil!â Kim Joon-Hwi said and turned back to go while the guards and wizards took away the struggling Seokjin and Hoseok.
There was nothing Yoongi could do to open up the lock from the inside. He kept muttering things and putting spells while everyone waited impatiently. Soon, it was clear that the spells were not working.
âThe only way out will be us, fighting the guards once they come to take me.â Jimin finally said, âDidnât you hear what the CEO said? He needed my blood along with Hoseokâs wings.â
Jimin was right. After some time, three guards came. One of them announced, âIâm going to bring the Gumiho out. Everyone step back or youâll be shot to death.â
The gate to their cage was opened. Two guards entered while the other stood outside pointing his gun at them. Namjoon pointed at the guard outside. Taehyung nodded and turned himself into the huge wolf and attacked the guards those came inside. The one outside missed a shot at Taehyung as he was moving too fast.
Before they could figure out the situation properly, Jungkook and Yoongi were already on the move. Jungkook bit a guard down while Yoongi froze the one outside with his spell temporarily. But one of them managed to escape.
âLetâs get out of here before the...â Namjoon couldnât finish the sentence when the emergency alarm went off.
âOh shit!â Yoongi swore, âWeâre fucked.â

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 - Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9 - Chapter 10 Â [Complete]
Yoongi stood in the rain, unable to move a muscle. He had been looking at the sky until Hoseokâs figure disappeared in the darkness of the night. He couldnât believe he had been caught when he was so close to achieve his goal.
âHow dare you dreamt of a bright future?â He felt his conscience asking him, âAfter everything you had done, did you really think you could turn back from your sins?â
âWhy? Were my mistakes too ugly to be forgiven?â Yoongi asked back.
âYou are a monster. Youâre true place is to dwell in the darkness.â
Yoongi closed his eyes shut. He felt like he had stabbed his friends in their backs. But he was feeling all the pain instead. This pain in his heart was something worse than that of any physical one.
Yoongi looked at his wet white shirt. He laughed at the irony of it. The day he decided to wear white, was the day it revealed the blackest part of himself.
Slowly he walked back to his basement. The place that had been used just for experiments were turned into a home to Yoongi by the most unexpected people. But now, it suddenly felt just like a basement once again.
He looked around it. Things were just the way he had left them a few hours ago. But everything inside Yoongi seemed to have changed. He felt a sudden urge to change his clothes into his older ones. As if wearing something dark again would undone the damage and bring Hoseok back.
Even so, he got changed into one of his black outfits. Then, he went to sit at the very corner of the room where his desk was. The floor was freezing. But Yoongi didnât seem to mind.
Yoongi buried his face in between his knees. Tears began to fall abruptly. He couldnât stop them. For the first time since his grandfather died, Yoongi let himself cry.
Namjoon woke up in the middle of the night as he heard something. When he listened carefully, he found out that someone was sobbing. Namjoon walked towards it and saw Yoongi sitting at a corner with his head buried in his knees. His whole body was shaking.
Namjoon hesitated but decided to ask him instead, âIs everything⌠Is everything alright?â
Yoongiâs head slowly rose from his knees. He looked at Namjoon and shook his head. Namjoon noticed that Yoongiâs hair was wet and his eyes were puffy and red, suggesting that he was out in the rain and had been crying for quite a long time.
Namjoon sat beside him. But he didnât ask Yoongi anything. After a few minutes, Yoongi, himself, broke the silence, âCan I ask you something very personal?â
âYeah!â
âWhy were you casted out of heaven?â
Namjoon was surprised by this sudden approach towards his deepest, darkest secret. But for some reason, he wanted to share it with Yoongi. Yoongi was the kind of person who would understand.
âWell, itâs because I had rebelled against the Gods and Goddessesâ order.â
âBut why? What did they ask you to do?â
Namjoon exhaled out a heavy breath. Then, he began to tell it from the beginning, while Yoongi listened like an attentive student learning from his master.
âThe world and everything within were practically created just for Humans. But you see, Gods and Goddesses arenât always right. They make mistakes too. The difference is that they can erase them easily.
âOne of those mistakes was creating the giants. The huge creatures with so much strength but a little to no brain at all. They had been a huge obstacle to the humanity since the beginning of time. So, Zeus decided to eliminate them all.
âThatâs what the order was exactly. We, angels, were to kill them off from the surface of the earth. That time, I was made the leader to complete this task with my fellow angels. But I couldnât bring myself to do it.
âHow could I? They wanted me to kill the whole race of giants just for the convenience of the humans. But in my eyes, they were just as important as humans were to this earth.â
Namjoon stopped there. He couldnât go any further.
Yoongi nodded, âSo the Gods favor them too?â By âthemâ, he basically meant the OHA.
Then, Yoongi slowly unbuttoned two of his shirt buttons and showed Namjoon what he had been hiding there all this time. Namjoon couldnât help but gasp at the sight of that cursed mark.
âIâm going to reveal something about me which you might find surprising.â Yoongi began in front of the boys.
âI used toâŚâ Yoongi hesitated. He glanced at Namjoon for assurance. Namjoon nodded for him to continue.
Yoongi cleared his throat, âI used to work for the OHA once.â There were some shouts of disbelieve. But nobody complained. They seemed rather curious to know more of the story.
Yoongi got the confidence to continue. Everyone believed everything he told them. In short, what Yoongi said were these:
Yoongi was an orphan raised by his wizard grandfather, who had taught him how to control magic. But he, too, died early, leaving Yoongi all alone in this cruel world. The âMaster of Shadowâ used to be a close friend to his grandfather. So, after his death, the Master took all of Yoongiâs responsibility.
Since then, all Yoongi knew was hard work. He was never allowed to rest, never allowed to fail and most importantly, never allowed to give up. Yoongi grew up to dislike the âMasterâ, but didnât dared challenge him.
After the formation of the OHA, the âMaster of Shadowâ willingly joined the company to work on the Supernatural beings and expand his power. Yoongi had to join with him as well.
At first, Yoongi willingly worked for them too, doing all the research works and even hunting some species occasionally. At a point, he was appointed to experiment on an angel. And this angel was Hoseokâs friend, for whom Hoseok had come down to earth.
After some days of regular meeting with the angel, Yoongi started to take a liking for him. They eventually got close and became friends. When Yoongi learned that the angelâs wings were the last ingredient the OHA needed to acquire whatever their evil target was, Yoongi decided to help the angel escape.
Meanwhile, there was a rumor circulating throughout the facility that the only Gumiho they had been experimenting on had died. And before death, that Gumiho had foreseen a future. It was such that the downfall of the OHA would come by an angelâs hand.
So, instead of running away, the angel decided to tear the company apart so that it could not hurt any more creatures. But the OHA was wicked. They found out about their plan.
Unfortunately, the angel had to take his own life to stop the OHA from using his wings. And Yoongi had no other option but to flee.
Yoongi finished the narration of his story and sat down on his chair. The mood of the room grew much more depressing. Namjoon walked up to Yoongi and patted his shoulders with both hands.
âSince then, I dedicated my life on this mission. Thatâs why, I was so desperate to find an angel and a Gumiho. Thatâs why, I asked Jimin to look into the future.â Yoongi said, his eyes ready to tear up any moment, âIâm sorry for keeping this away from you, guys. It was a mistake. And now, Hoseok has left.â
Yoongi buried his face on his hands and once again started to sob. Jimin quickly came to give him a hug, while Namjoon kept patting on his shoulders.
âDonât worry!â Jimin said, âIâm sure Hoseok will come back to us again.â
Momentary silence, everyone was thinking; Yoongi was still questioning his past, Jimin was getting ready to protect the members, Jungkook was missing Hoseok and Namjoon was making a plan.
Suddenly, there was a howling of a wolf from above the building. Jiminâs heart skipped a bit, âTaehyung!â he called.
Not a moment was lost. All of them went to check on Taehyung, who had gone to check on the wizard a while ago. What they found there was surprising and horrifying at the same time.
The door to the prisonerâs room was wide opened. A big black wolf lied in the corner of the room being curled up and shivering. The âMaster of Shadowâ was nowhere to be seen.
Jungkook and Jimin went straight to the wolf. Jimin tried to calm Taehyung down saying all the comforting words he could come up with while Jungkook ran his hand on his black fur. It took much time to finally bring Taehyung back to himself again. He, then, returned to his human form.
âIâm sorry.â Taehyung wiped a tear from his face, âI couldnât stop the wizard.â
âOh dear!â Jimin exclaimed, âDid he hurt you?â
Taehyung nodded like a little child and added, âThe door was already opened when I came here. When I tried to stop the wizard, he did something crazy to my brain.â
âMind control!â Yoongi informed, âHeâs a master at that work.â
Taehyung nodded again, âYes, youâre right. I was under some kind of mind control thing. I felt like IâŚI was back at the laboratory again. I was chained up to their walls. IâŚI was locked up.â
âSsh, baby.â Jimin whispered as Taehyung grew agitated. âYouâre not at the facility anymore. Youâre here, with us.â
âIâm so sorry.â Taehyung said once again, âI wish I could⌠I could change my mind. I always feel trapped inside it. Itâs suffocating.â
âDonât apologize.â Namjoon said, âItâs not something you did on purpose.â
âBut one thing doesnât make sense.â Yoongi said, âHow was the door opened? The spell I put in there, it couldnât be broken by anyone from the inside.â
âMaybe the âMasterâ bewitched Taehyung to do it?â Seokjin suggested.
âButâŚâ Yoongi was about to say something when Namjoon called everyone, âThere is a note.â
Namjoon read out the note left by the âMasterâ aloud, âAll thanks to you, Min Yoongi, for doing the hardest job of locating an angel and pushing it away into our trap on your own. I hope you donât regret the decision that you had made two years ago of betraying and working against the company.â
âNo!â Yoongi let out a cry of agony.
âThey caught Hoseok, didnât they?â Jungkookâs voice cracked.
Jimin asked, âWhat do we do now?â while Taehyung kept shaking his head in refusal.
âWe need to make a solid plan to rescue Hoseok.â Namjoon said.
Everyone kept suggesting whatever they thought right that should be done. But none of the plan seemed reliable enough. They could never fight hundreds of guards and wizards of the OHA all alone. They needed more people and strength.
âWe canât lose time.â Yoongi said finally, âIf the OHA has his wings they will grow more powerful and defeating them will be impossible.â
âThen, what do you suggest we do?â Namjoon asked.
âIâll go alone.â Yoongi said.
âThatâs stupid.â Jungkook said, âWe canât even imagine facing them all together and youâre talking about fighting them alone?â
âIâm the one whoâs responsible for this. So, it has to be me.â Yoongi further argued.
âBut we canât let you go without a plan.â Namjoon said rather boldly.
Yoongi nodded at him, âI think, I have one.â

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 -Â Chapter 7 - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9Â - Chapter 10 [Complete]
Finally, the moment they were waiting for had arrived. The âMaster of Shadowâ had left the facility and went for his car.
Taehyung pointed at him, âItâs him! Did you see the mark?â
There was a clear mark of a flower being encircled on his forehead. Everybody knew what that mark meant. It was a mark seen on the body of every wizard who worked for OHA. Though most of them would get the mark in an area where it could be concealed by garments, this wizard had decided to get it on his forehead instead. It was clear that he was proud to be a part of this nasty organization.
âRemember, what we have to do?â Namjoon asked one last time. Everyone nodded in union. Then, they attacked.
Though the wizard was momentarily shocked at their sudden approach, he soon regained his senses and attacked them back with his years of knowledge in magic. Though he was old, it was evident in his moves that he was a really powerful being. No wonder, he was considered the âMaster of Shadowâ.
The boys had targeted to blind his eyes first with the potion Yoongi had given them. Then they would force him to go to sleep playing the kithara of Apollo; which was again a stolen item Seokjin had provided them with.
They could have handled it easily as they had already out numbered him by four. But a guard suddenly appeared on the scene. He was unarmed. So, he soon turned back to go back to the facility to inform others.
Seokjin ran after him. Their mission could get difficult if more people joined the opposition. They had only managed to blind the wizard. Making him lose his senses completely would take some more time. Jimin was still playing the kithara fervently.
âDonât worry!â Seokjin shouted back at them, âIâll buy you some time.â And he was already gone inside the facility.
Soon afterwards, the wizardâs huge body fell to the ground, announcing that he was out. They tied him up as quickly as possible.
âWhy isnât Seokjin coming back?â Jungkook asked anxiously.
âWe donât have much time.â Jimin announced, âHe might wake up any time.â
âAlright!â Jungkook said, âIâll go find Seokjin. You guys take him home.â
âNo!â Jimin was about to argue.
âThereâs no time.â Namjoon urged him, âLetâs go back.â Then, he looked at Jungkook and said, âWeâll come back for you.â
Master of Shadow; the most powerful wizard the earth had ever seen, now sat powerless in front of Yoongi. He couldnât help but feel proud of himself. No wizard had ever dared to pick up a fight with the Master. He was the most ancient wizard alive.
âWelcome back!â Yoongi called as the huge wizard opened his eyes.
âI was hoping to meet you soon, Yoongi.â The wizard said. There wasnât any sign of fear or hesitation in those old eyes, which made Yoongi nervous. âI donât see your friends around. Are you afraid I might spill the tea?â The wizard started to laugh in a gigantic way.
âI am not afraid of your useless threats.â Yoongi said, sounding a lot more confident than he felt.
The wizard shook his head slowly, âI pity you, Min Yoongi. You had so much potential in you.â The wizard started to cough. Yoongi waited for him to finish whatever it was he was trying to say. âI remember how proud your grandfather was of you.â
âDonât speak of him.â Yoongi scoffed.
There was a moment of silence. Then, the wizard said, âYou didnât hope that I would provide you any information about the company, did you?â
âI canât even dream about it.â Yoongi said, rolling his eyes, âAnd for the record, I donât wish for any kind of help from you. I know enough about the company myself.â
Yoongi cleared his throat and continued, âIt is not unknown to anyone how powerful of a being you are. My true intention is to keep you away from everything to make our mission easier.â
Yoongi was about to leave when the wizard called him, âI only have one question to you.â As Yoongi turned back, he asked, âWhy, Yoongi? Why would you choose those inferior creatures over us, humans?â
Yoongi let out a chuckle, âYouâll never change.â
âThat doesnât answer my question.â This time, he sounded as if he was curious and not mocking anyone.
So, Yoongi decided to be honest, âBecause, they are more human than any human Iâve ever known.â
Jungkook kept going around the building, searching for Seokjin. He couldnât go inside and risk getting caught. But it had been hours. All kinds of scary thoughts were surrounding his mind. âWhat if they had locked him up?â he thought.
Just when Jungkook was about to lose hope, Seokjin showed up. He was limping as he walked but looked completely fine otherwise.
âHyung!â Jungkook went straight for a hug.
Seokjin looked surprised for a moment. âYouâve waited?â he asked.
âOf course, I did.â Jungkook said, still hugging him tightly. Seokjin nodded and hugged him back. Quite some time had already passed when they let go of each other.
âLetâs go back.â Jungkook said, âThey must be worried about us.â Jungkook took one of his hands over his shoulder and helped support Seokjin while they walked.
âWhat was that you called me, earlier?â Seokjin asked suddenly.
âHuh?â Jungkook said.
Seokjin let out a chuckle, âYouâre probably hundreds of years older than me. But Iâll allow it since youâre cute.â
The others were seen at a distance. As soon as they saw them, they came running.
âThank Gods!â Hoseok exclaimed, âYouâre both safe.â
âWow!â Seokjin said sarcastically, âAll of you came back for me?â He seemed to be counting heads. Then, he added, âI donât see Yoongi.â
âSomeone has to stay with the wizard.â Namjoon informed. Then, he took Seokjinâs arm from Jungkook and put it around his shoulder. âNow, tell me, did you get hurt?â Namjoon pointed at his limping leg.
Seokjin shook his head, âItâs nothing.â
âLetâs go back home.â Taehyung suggested, âIt had been a long day. Iâm starving.â
Seokjin nodded and muttered under his breath, âYeah, letâs go backâŚhome.â
Their first mission was a success. And surprisingly no one was badly hurt. Jimin suggested they should celebrate this victory. Nothing more was needed to be said.
They took out all the huge bottles of alcohol that Yoongi had brewed over the months. They drank and drank until they couldnât anymore. Other than Jungkook, most of the supernaturals got drunk pretty fast, even before Yoongi, himself.
But there was a minor inconvenience. One of them had to go check on the wizard every now and then. Even though he was sleeping like a baby, nobody trusted him to be left alone for too long. Who knew, what he was up to?
âI canât even remember when the last time was that I got drunk.â Taehyung said.
âYeah, me too.â Jimin sat beside him. Then, Taehyung started to play with Jiminâs smooth hair like a puppy.
Jungkook sighed, âWish I could know that feeling!â He gulped down the whole content of his glass in one go.
âAlright, guys!â Seokjin announced, âIâm going to sleep, now. Who will join me?â
âWish I could!â another huge sigh left Jungkookâs mouth.
âJungkook-ah!â Seokjin called, âCome lie with me. Hyung knows a way for Jungkook to get the closest feeling to that of sleeping.â
Jungkook climbed on to the bed beside Seokjin. Then, Seokjin started to hum a lullaby. Everybody grew quiet, taking in the beautiful music coming out of him. The low hum grew into a complete song.
Jungkookâs eyes started to get wet. He had a vague memory of his mother humming a lullaby to him when he was just a human child. But no matter how much he tried, he couldnât recall her face. Jungkook buried his face in Seokjinâs chest, while he softly stroked his hair.
âHe sings like an angel.â Hoseok whispered to Yoongi. Though Yoongi didnât know how an angel sang, he still nodded in agreement.
Yoongi was looking at Hoseok fondly as he tucked in each of the sleeping member with blanket one by one. Apparently, Seokjinâs sweet lullaby was strong enough to put everyone to sleep.
âAre you going to stay like that?â Hoseok asked Jungkook, who was still burying his face on Seokjinâs chest while hugging him tightly. Jungkook nodded and mumbled something inaudible to indicate that he was alright that way.
Hoseok placed a soft goodnight kiss on Jungkookâs head and stood up to see Yoongi staring at him. Hoseok smiled, making a twist inside Yoongiâs stomach. Then, Hoseok signaled him to get out for some fresh air.
Both of them sat on the railing of the roof in their abandoned building with their feet hanging outside. There was a bottle of whiskey Yoongi had brought to share with Hoseok. Every now and then, lightning were striking in the sky suggesting that it might rain anytime.
âThank you for doing all this.â Hoseok said, âEven if I canât see how you benefit from OHAâs downfall, thank you all the same.â Yoongi nodded and took a sip from the whiskey bottle.
Then, Hoseok added, âI canât believe Iâm so close to finally meeting my friend. When I first came down to earth, among all the chaos, I had lost hopes of ever reuniting with him. Thanks to you, my hopes came back.â
Hoseok looked at Yoongi and smiled. Yoongi remained silent once again.
âDo you even smile?â Hoseok sighed heavily.
âUmmâŚHoseok?â Yoongi called.
âHmm?â
âItâs a hypothetical question, okay? I mean, itâs just a supposition.â
âWhat is it?â Hoseok asked, curious at Yoongiâs hesitation.
âSuppose we get to the OHA. But⌠But your friend isnât there?â
Hoseok laughed, âWhat do you mean? Where will he be then?â
âWhat if heâsâŚheâs dead?â
âOh!â Hoseok was taken aback. They both remained silent for a while. Finally, Hoseok said, âItâs funny how Iâve never thought about it.â
Starting from small drops, it started to rain wholly. Hoseok stood up to get back. But Yoongi hold his hand, âPlease, stay.â
As Yoongi wasnât the type to make requests often, Hoseok decided to stay a little more.
âDoes it rain in heaven?â Yoongi asked
Hoseok shook his head, âIt never does.â
Yoongi closed his eyes and faced the sky, thinking how far he had come. He kept pondering over future possibilities. âWill we really succeed?â he thought. He knew very well, what awaited them if they were to fail.
âNo, it canât be.â Suddenly Yoongi heard Hoseok whispering, âYouâŚHow?â
Yoongi looked at Hoseok in confusion. âWhat happened?â he asked.
âYouâre one of them.â Hoseok said. He looked terrified of Yoongi.
At that very moment, it finally occurred to Yoongi what Hoseok was trying to say. He looked down on to his chest. The mark was visible through the white wet shirt on his skin. The mark of the OHA wizards, the encircled flower.
Hoseok stood up and pulled away as Yoongi tried to reach for his hand.
âYou lied to us. You are going to sell us off to those monsters, arenât you?â Hoseok almost screamed. Yoongi couldnât bring himself to say anything. He only kept shaking his head.
âOh Gods! Iâm such a fool.â Then, Hoseok grabbed his own head as it started to get dizzy by all those drinking he had done earlier. Then, he turned away from Yoongi and let out his wings wide open.
âNo, Hoseok!â Yoongi called as Hoseok took a flight out into the storming sky.

At first, it started as a joke. Jungkook took pride in the fact that he was immune to the bullets. Being a vampire, his only weakness was wood. So, the OHA had to find an alternative for the vampires and they had trained themselves in archery; all these trouble just to hunt the vampires and no other creatures.
Thatâs why, Jungkookâs mates would go around calling him âBulletproofâ. It turned out to be a nickname eventually. But when the question of naming their team of seven members came, Namjoon suggested it should be called âBulletproofâ instead as a symbol of their courage at adversaries.
It had been almost a month now. They were training themselves for the future battle they had to face. Even though Yoongi had presented some kind of draft of their plan before them, it was Namjoon who could give detailed direction about how to execute them. So, they all decided to put Namjoon as their leader. Even Yoongi was okay with that.
Meanwhile, their bond grew stronger. Some of them wouldnât even hesitate to call the others their friends. They got used to be jam-packed at Yoongiâs small basement of an abandoned building too. They started to live as if it were their home. They became much closer to that of a family they never had.
The night before their first mission, Yoongi called Jimin to talk about some important issues. When Taehyung was about to follow them, Yoongi stopped him and said, âPerhaps, it would be better if you go to sleep early. We have some shits to be done by tomorrow.â
âItâs okay!â Taehyung pushed aside the proposal, âLetâs hear what you have to say first.â
Hesitantly Yoongi said, âUmmâŚActually I want to talk with Jimin in private.â
âOh!â Taehyung frowned at him but didnât complain. He went back to the room.
Yoongi took Jimin outside to the unused garage. Jimin kept wondering what it could be that he was trying to conceal from the others.
âI know that the Gumihos can see through time into the future.â Yoongi said flatly.
âYes!â Jimin said, with a doubt still lingering on his mind.
âI want you to do me a favor.â Yoongiâs voice was rather soft now, âTell me what you can see about the OHAâs demise.â
âYoongi,â Jimin called, âI donât think you understand. It doesnât work like that. I canât see whatever I wish to.â
âBut if you try hardâŚâ Yoongi couldnât finish the sentence in excitement.
Jimin sighed, âEven if I could, there is a huge possibility of messing it up. Trying to change an already bad future can turn it worse.â
âI know, I know.â Yoongi said desperately, âI promise I wonât try to change it. I wonât mess up.â
âThen, what is even the point of knowing it beforehand?â Jimin asked.
Yoongi didnât answer.
Then, Jimin said, âIt would be better if we leave this to the destiny.â
Yoongi shook his head, his eyes closed. Thinking for a while, he said carefully, âAll the same, you would let me know if you see something, wonât you?â
Jimin nodded without knowing what to do otherwise, âI will.â Then, he was about to leave.
But Yoongi called him again, âJimin-ah.â Jimin looked back. Yoongi said, âPlease, donât tell the others about our conversation here.â
Their first mission was to capture the leader of the wizards of the OHA called the âMaster of Shadowâ. He was the secretary of Kim Joon-Hwi and the mastermind behind all the evil the organization had been doing so far.
Their plan was to do the job as smoothly as they could without any bloody fight. All the âBulletproofâ boys had planned to go. But then on the appointed day, Yoongi refused to join them.
âIâve decided someone has to stay behind.â Yoongi said, âAs Iâm the only one who can use magic to prepare a room, so that he canât escape from it, I think it should be me.â Nobody seemed to have any complain about that.
But Yoongi also added, âAnd Hoseok will stay with me as well.â This time, they started to protest.
âBut we need as many as possible.â Seokjin argued, âAnd you said it yourself, that an angel is a must on the team.â
âI think you have enough people alreadyâŚâ Yoongi was about to say something more but Jimin interrupted him.
âMaybe our leader can decide upon the matter.â Jimin said. He was not going to leave the matter at Yoongiâs hand anymore.
Namjoon thought for a moment. It occurred to him that Yoongi was being overprotective toward Hoseok. Namjoon didnât want Hoseok to get hurt as well. After all, he used to be a fellow angel, even though Hoseok didnât remember anything about Namjoon now.
âI think Yoongiâs right.â He said finally, âLet them stay. The five of us are enough to fight a single wizard.â
They set off for the mission without the two and reached the OHA facility. They were to keep a watch at it secretly and wait till the wizard was seen alone. The more time started to pass the more anxious they were getting.
Taehyung suddenly said, âI canât do this.â
âWhat are you talking about? You canât back away now.â Seokjin groaned in annoyance.
âAre you okay?â Namjoon asked Taehyung, noticing that he was breathing heavily.
Taehyung shook his head violently and kept muttering, âI canât go back there. I canât go back.â
Jimin went to sit beside Taehyung and started to calm him down, âItâs okay, dear. We are all here with you. This time, youâre not alone.â
âI think heâs having a panic attack.â Seokjin said, now aware about the matter.
âWhat if they catch me and lock me up again?â Taehyung was close to tearing up.
âAgain?â Everyone was surprised at the word.
Finally, Jimin had to explain what the matter was about Taehyung. Some years ago, Taehyung was caught and taken to the facility. He had some really bad experiences in there. But fortunately he was able to escape. Jimin had found him and taken care of him ever since.
Namjoon was really upset about it. He told Jimin that he should have told them about it earlier and it wasnât a good idea to force Taehyung into something like this when he wasnât ready to face it.
âIâm sorry!â Jimin apologized, âI didnât realize that the old memories might come back and haunt him.â
Everyone remained quiet, allowing Taehyung to have some time to relax. Jungkook was patting him slowly on the back. After a while, Taehyung seemed to have come to his senses.
He, himself, said, âAlright, guys!â the same old box smile returned to his pretty face, âIâm ready. Letâs do this.â
Back at Yoongiâs basement, Hoseok kept asking Yoongi the same question again and again, âMaybe youâre trying to escape a fight. But why didnât you allow me to go?â
âWhy were you even waiting for my permission anyway?â Yoongi rolled his eyes.
âWell, itâs better to avoid a fight if you have the chance.â Hoseok said, âBut I canât think of a benefit of yours in letting me stay.â
âPlease, do me a favor.â Yoongi said, getting more annoyed by the time, âDonât even try to think about it.â
Hoseok started to laugh. But it sounded more like he had been repeating the letter âkâ over and over again.
âPlease stay here until I come.â Yoongi requested, âI have to go fix a room to lock up the wizard before they arrive.â
âYou mean, one of those abandoned rooms upstairs?â Hoseok asked.
âYeah! Where else can I take him?â
âOh my Gods!â Hoseok said, âThose are some really nasty places. Câmon, now. Letâs get moving.â
âWhat do you mean? Are you coming with me?â
âI ainât letting you do those dirty works alone.â Hoseok was already picking up the broomstick.
âWill you ever let me be alone for a while?â Yoongi sighed.
âYeah!â Hoseok said, âThe day you actually smile.â
And Hoseok was already on the move. What he didnât see was that Yoongi was actually smiling behind his back.

âGive me a good reason to trust you.â Jimin asked defensively.
Yoongi and his new partners had brought the trio in his place. At first, Jimin was reluctant to have come with them. But when he saw what the OHA had in their mind and if it werenât for them, Jimin would have probably ended up in their laboratory, he finally agreed to go with them.
âTrust requires time.â Yoongi said, âAnd all Iâm asking from you is to give me that time. I swear, everything will make sense at the end. It will all go well according to the plan.â
âWell, your first plan was to summon an angel.â Seokjin said, always ready to contradict Yoongi at any given time, âAnd look, whom youâve brought instead.â He gave Namjoon a disgusted look.
âYeah,â Yoongi said as a matter of fact, âsomeone who brought the said angel to me at least.â
âYah, Jimin-ah!â Taehyung called, âLook at this angel, here. His wings are so soft. Oh my God! I want to wrap myself in them.â
Jimin gave a faint smile. Taehyung and Jungkook were busy playing with Hoseok as Jimin was having some serious discussion with the rest. They looked surprisingly happy to have joined the new team. They were trusting the new people so easily. It made Jimin worry a lot.
âOh my God!â Hoseok imitated Taehyung, âAnd I want to wrap you in my wings as well. HahaâŚâ They were laughing like kids at this point.
Namjoon shook his head, âAre you sure about the sanity of the members of this team?â
Yoongi sighed, unable to answer. He, himself was losing hope the more time he had been spending with these incompatible group of beings he had collected.
Whatever the reason might be for each of them, they collectively agreed to do whatever it took them to bring the demise of the organization that had been terrorizing their kinds for years. Apart from Seokjin, everyone seemed to have liked Yoongi too, despite of his cold nature. Little by little Yoongi started to explain the complicated, but not wholly impossible, plan to them all.
First, came the question of participations from the members. How and who would perform which tasks were brought into light. Yoongi would definitely serve as the mastermind of the team. Namjoon, Taehyung and Jungkook would be the strength while Hoseok and Jimin would give the team whatever supernatural skills they had to offer.
âWhat about Seokjin?â Namjoon asked sarcastically.
âWhat about me?â Seokjin asked, âYaâll definitely need a son of Aphrodite on the team. Someone, whose beauty can distract the enemies at dire times.â
âWho needs to be Aphroditeâs child to look beautiful?â said Taehyung, fixing the collar of his shirt.
Hoseok cracked up at this, âNo offense, but that was so true.â
âItâs about number.â Yoongi came to his aid, âWe need more people in the team.â
âBut that doesnât mean we can allow about anyone.â Jimin said, afraid that they might end up having a spy among them.
âAnyway,â Namjoon said, his voice suddenly serious now, âI think you are not giving us enough information.â The accusation was directed to Yoongi. âAnswer this first, if it was about numbers, why were you so keen at finding specifically an angel and a Gumiho?â
All of their attentions were now at Yoongi. âIâŚâ Yoongi stammered, âitâs becauseâŚWell, you see. We need some of the superpowers to fight such a horribly powerful Organization as OHA.â Yoongiâs voice rose as he asked the others, âDoes any of you have them as good as these guys?â he pointed at Jimin and Hoseok.
Taehyung shook his head, âEven the OHA would agree to the fact that angels and Gumihos are their most desirable preys.â
Even though everyone seemed to be satisfied by the explanation, Namjoon was feeling a hunch. âThis guy is definitely keeping some real secrets to himself.â He thought. But he didnât let his suspicion be known to anyone else.
âYouâve failed again.â Kim Joon-Hwi raged at the guards and the wizards those who were able to have escaped the last fight with the supernatural beings.
âSir,â one of the guards informed, âThey were more in number than we had anticipated.â
Kim Joon-Hwi shook his head. He had been putting up with enough excuses. They were failing him again and again. He was getting impatient now. He wanted to take the matter at his own hands.
âTwo years at best.â He screamed at the leader of the wizards, âThatâs how much time you had asked from me. And now, 5 years had already passed and youâre progress is getting slower.â
The wizard lowered his head and said, âBut weâve found something more valuable this time, sir.â
âTell me more about it.â Kim Joon-Hwi relaxed and sat down on his chair.
âThere were four more members in their team, sir.â The wizard informed, âAmong them was Yoongi.â
âThe wizard Min Yoongi?â He asked.
âYes, sir.â The wizard answered, âThere was an angel too.â
âAn angel?â Kim Joon-Hwi again rose from his chair in excitement.
âAn angel and another being with black wings; which we couldnât identify yet.â
Kim Joon-Hwi didnât show any interest at the other creatures. He said, more to himself than anyone, âThat means, Yoongi had finally found the angel.â
There was a moment of silent. Hesitantly, the wizard asked his boss, âSir, what do we do next?â
âWe donât.â Kim Joon-Hwi replied. There was a faint smirk visible on his face, âThey come to us.â
After hours of discussion on their upcoming mission, they all settled down to have a dinner on the floor, since there was no table available. Jungkook wasnât eating anything. Instead he kept looking at Hoseok with his big doe eyes full of wonder.
âWhat are you looking at?â Hoseok asked while chewing on a buttered bun.
Jungkook hesitated, âIâve always imagined angels wearing white clothes.â
âAnd we do.â Hoseok responded, âIn heaven we wear nothing but white; which goes pretty well with our white wings. But since I came to earth, Iâve discovered all these colorful stuffs people wear. And I absolutely love them. So, I tried them on since my wings are invisible most of the times here.â
Jungkook nodded his head while Namjoon remarked, âWell, you should have been more careful in choosing what colors go well together. Splashing random colors aimlessly at a canvas doesnât create art.â
âI think they do. People here call them âabstract artsââ Seokjin said, âAnyway, I like Hoseokâs style of clothing more than yours. Your aesthetic goes with Yoongi, I believe.â Both Namjoon and Yoongi ignored his attempt at insulting them.
Taehyung asked Hoseok, âSo, what are you doing on earth? Mommy told me that angels live in heaven.â
âSheâs right!â Hoseok answered. Heâs more than happy to explain about his home, âMost of our lives, we live there in heaven. But every now and then, we are send down to earth for a purpose.â
âWhatâs that?â Taehyung asked, listening attentively.
âWell, one of my friends, an angel, came here before me.â His voice doesnât sound very happy anymore, âBut weâve lost all contacts of him. So, Iâve volunteered to look at the matter. Hence, they allowed me to come on earth.â
âDid you find him?â Taehyung asked once again.
âNope!â Hoseok said, âIâve been searching for him for months. At this point, I believe, he had been taken away by OHA. But I didnât dare fight them alone. I know how much power they hold over all the people here. Thatâs why, I agreed to join this team. So that I can finally go back home with my friend.â
âI think we should decide upon where to sleep at night.â Yoongi interrupted when Taehyung was about say something more.
Yoongi woke up early to make breakfast for them all. He was struggling as it was his first time preparing meals for seven very different species at once. He had managed to steal blood for Jungkook from a nearby clinic last night while everyone slept. It was now time to prepare some nutritious protein meals for the rest.
Seokjin came in the kitchen after sometime, âWhy didnât you wake me up? I told you, Iâm a very good cook, didnât I?â
âPlease, just go back.â Yoongi said, âI canât deal with you now.â
Seokjin understood how stressed Yoongi was. He secretly admired him for his attempt to care for the people he had collected for the mission, but barely knew them all. âHe is not as cold as he wanted us to believe.â Seokjin thought.
Then, he joined quietly and started to help Yoongi. At first, Yoongi was sulking at his presence. But by the time, they both got comfortable enough to work together smoothly.
âWhereâs Hoseok?â Seokjin asked, âI didnât see him anywhere this morning.â
âProbably sleeping in the couch.â Yoongi said, stirring the soup he was making for Seokjin and himself.
âNamjoonâs in the couch.â Seokjin said.
âMaybe heâs in the bedroom.â Yoongi suggested.
âI slept in the bedroom last night.â Seokjin informed, his voice alarming at this point, âThe newbies had joined me too. But not Hoseok. I thought he was sleeping on the floor next to your desk last night.â
Yoongi stopped stirring, his eyes wide, âYes, he did. Oh my God! Why didnât I see him when I woke up? Did he escape?â
âWeâre not in a prison. Why would I escape?â Hoseok said as he entered the kitchen. He was holding a grocery bag.
âDid you go out?â Yoongi asked earnestly, âAll alone? What if something wrong happened? Donât you know, they had seen us? They know how we look like. They are out there hunting us.â
âCalm down!â Seokjin hold Yoongi by his shoulders as his voice started to raise in panic.
âIâm so sorry. I just thought there wasnât enough food for everyone. So, I wanted to help.â Hoseok said.
âIs everything okay?â Jungkook came inside hearing all the fuss.
âNobody has to help me, okay?â Yoongi suddenly burst out, âThis is my house. Iâll do whatever is necessary. I donât need anyoneâs help.â
Jungkook got out of the kitchen immediately. Seokjin said, âOh shut up! We all know thatâs not true.â

âHmmâŚâ Hoseok said thoughtfully, âSo, you want me to help you bring the OHA down. Is that right?â
âYes!â Yoongi said, wishing desperately that this angel was not as stupid and useless as it appeared to be.
âWhatâs in here for me?â he asked.
âHuh?â Yoongi was shocked. He had never gave it a thought that the angel might ask for a reward in return. âWell, why would you ask for anything anyway? You are literally bringing down a system that is hunting your kind and many others for 5 years.â
âOh, I seeâŚâ Hoseok turned to Namjoon, âWhat do you think? Should I abandon my duty to do this guyâs job here?â
âI think, working with this guy will take you closer to your own mission.â Namjoon answered.
Yoongi interrupted, âActually my nameâs Min Yoongi. I would very much appreciate it if you call me by that name.â
âSeriously?â this time, Seokjin sounded annoyed with Yoongi, âNamjoon literally said Hoseok is here on earth for a mission and what youâre worried about is what they are calling you?â
âI accept.â Hoseok said.
âReally?â Yoongi asked hopefully, âYouâre going to do this?â
âYes!â
âEven if thereâs too much danger involved?â
âYes!â Hoseok nodded, looking quite happy for someone joining a suicide mission.
âI think,â Namjoon said, âmy work here is done. Good luck to you guys, on your way to bring down the most influential and powerful organization on earth.â
âI donât think Iâm feeling very confident at his words of encouragement. Does anyone else feel like me?â Seokjin looked around.
Hoseok raised his hand while Yoongi said to Namjoon, âNo, stay!â
Namjoon raised an eyebrow, âexcuse me?â
âPlease,â Yoongi pleaded, âTrust me, I have a plan. The more we are in number, the more it is likely to succeed.â
âYeah, Namjoon-ah.â Hoseok stood up and suddenly started to talk with an authority. âI think friends should stand together at times like this.â
âI didnât know an angel could be a friend with the devil.â Seokjin mocked.
âWell, it can happen, you see.â Hoseok replied, âDonât you know, having mutual enemies make people friends? So, weâre all basically friends here.â
âWe are?â Seokjin asked in a rather surprised tone.
Hoseok reassured, âWe are!â
Jimin and Taehyung took Jungkook to the little hut they called their home. It was out of town, in the middle of the woods. Jungkook noticed that though the hut was not very big, it was very neat and clean, looking like a pleasant place for a family. He remembered how messy his mansion got after all of his servants were being caught by the OHA.
âSo, this is a little home I had built for myself.â Jimin announced, looking very proud about it, âIâve been living here all alone until Taehyung joined me.â
âYeah,â Taehyung said, a smile never leaving his face, âThereâs only two beds. The two of you can take one each. I am happy to squeeze in with any one of you.â
âThanks.â Jungkook said, âBut I donât sleep.â
âOh,â Taehyung was taken aback, âI almost forgot that youâre a vampire. Donât be offended, little friend. I sometimes forget that Iâm a werewolf too.â
âDonât go around calling him âlittleâ, Tae.â Jimin said, âHeâs been alive for over a century, I believe.â
âReally?â Taehyung asked, âHow old are you exactly?â
âUmmâŚâ Jungkook thought for a while, âI donât know for sure. I can remember being living, umm⌠being an undead since the 17th century.â
âDonât you remember your life as a human?â Jimin asked.
Jungkook shook his head. He didnât remember what his true identity was, who his parents were, how he was as a boy. He didnât remember what it felt like to be a human with hunger and fatigue. All he remembered was his everlasting thirst for blood.
Jimin kept silent. He felt sorry for Jungkook, who didnât have any friends or family and who had been surviving all alone for a long time. Jimin knew the feeling of loneliness all too well. Thatâs why, he had made a promise to himself to keep Taehyung safe. Now, he felt the same responsibility towards Jungkook as well.
âWhatever, it is.â Taehyung broke the silence, âSince, youâre the last one to join the pack, youâre our little one from now on.â
Jungkook tilted his head in affirmation. He didnât mind being taken care of as a little one.
âAwwâŚâ Taehyung pouted, âIsnât he so cute?â which made Jimin laugh.
OHA had been keeping a watch at the hut of the new formed trio. It wouldnât be very clever to attack them right away. The guards and the wizards were waiting for the right time.
Catching a nine tailed fox was not too easy. Because they were swift in their movements and can keep up with a long fight. They can manipulate the weather to go against their enemies. The only thing worse than fighting a Gumiho was fighting a Gumiho along with a vampire and a werewolf.
It was an order from Kim Joon-Hwi, himself. There was no option of losing the Gumiho. It had to be caught. Even if it caused them the lives of the other two species. Because, the Gumiho was the real target.
So, the enemies were patient. They were waitingâŚ
Yoongi had bought all of them to his place to stay. He needed time to explain his plan. But that was not the real reason for this invitation. Yoongi couldnât bring himself to trust them just yet. They had agreed to join him on a suicide mission so easily, which made Yoongi suspicious. But he didnât know that each of them had a good reason to have done it.
âYour place is a so small,â Seokjin commented, âthat itâs making me claustrophobic.â
âAs if youâve gotten a better place.â Yoongi muttered. It wasnât easy for beings like them to stay at a nice place among nice people without being noticed. In fact, it was more dangerous than staying out in the street. Because nobody really cared about homeless people.
âYouâre right!â Seokjin said, hearing his remark, âEarth has some really shitty places. I miss home.â
âWhere is it?â Hoseok asked enthusiastically.
âAt the mount Olympus, of course.â He said with pride, âMother would keep me at the best place possible. After all, Iâm her only child.â
âHow are you so sure about that?â Yoongi muttered under his breath again.
âWhat was that?â Seokjin asked, with a frown clearly visible on his forehead.
âI asked, what are you doing here on earth then? Especially at this time?â Yoongi asked, âDoesnât Aphrodite know how dangerous the earth was for her only son?â
âThatâs none of your business.â Seokjin went straight to the only bedroom available. But Yoongi didnât complain. He was really satisfied to have pissed Seokjin off.
Namjoon looked around the whole apartment, if it could be called one, to make sure there werenât anyone spying them from outside a window or something. He also looked around at stuffs Yoongi used to practice wizardry. Judging by those and all the old books lying around, Namjoon believed Yoongi had been practicing them since he was very young.
âDonât worry about me.â Hoseok said to Yoongi, âIâm used to sleeping on the floor since I came to the earth. At least, Iâm glad I donât have to hide my wings here. So that I can be curled up inside them while I sleep.â
Hoseok was smiling. Yoongiâs heart suddenly felt heavy. He thought how innocent the angel was that he could stay positive even at times like this. Hoseok reminded him of someone he used to know. Someone who had called him his friend. Someone who was now dead and for this, Yoongi was to blame.
Taehyung woke up from a sudden loud noise, âJiminie!â he called out loud.
âItâs okay!â Jimin confirmed, âItâs just a plate.â
Jungkook immediately started to apologize, âIâm sorry! I didnât mean toâŚâ
Jimin cut him out, âYou need to stop apologizing for every minor inconvenience.â
Taehyung stood up, rubbing his eyes. âWhatâs for breakfast?â he asked.
âIâm still trying to figure that out.â Jimin said, âWeâre out of meat. We need to go to the supermarket.â
âMaybe the woods would be better.â Taehyung suggested, âWe need to find something for Jungkook as well.â
âItâs alright!â Jungkook assured them, âI can go without blood for a week without any hassle.â
All of a sudden, there was a gunshot nearby. This time, they were all alert at once. âDid you hear that?â Taehyung asked.
âBoys,â Jimin commanded, âstay inside. Iâll go check.â Another gunshot.
âIâm coming with you.â Taehyung said while Jungkook nodded.
Before Jimin could say anything, the noises started to grow as if there was a battle going on outside. The trio waited inside, trying to figure out just what was going on.
âI can smell Humans.â Jungkook sat down on a chair, his voice shaking, âThey had followed me here. They are going to take me away.â
Jimin went to stand beside him, carefully caressing his head, âDonât worry, dear. They canât harm you. Not on my watch!â
Eventually everything was quiet again. Still they didnât dare to move just then. After what seemed like hours of waiting in fear of something might going wrong, their front door sprang open, causing them to jump in fright. The four strangers stood outside.
âSo tell me,â The one wearing a cloak with a hood on stepped inside, âwhich one of you is the Gumiho?â

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 3 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 - Chapter 6 -Â Chapter 7Â - Chapter 8 - Chapter 9Â - Chapter 10 [Complete]
Jungkook couldnât recall when the last time he got out of his huge mansion was. It would get really lonely sometimes, living all alone. It wasnât like this all the time. He was used to travelling around the world a lot. But now, even roaming around his neighboring woods seemed dangerous.
Today, Jungkook had built up his courage and stepped out in to the woods. He could sense that his body was growing weaker. He needed blood. So, he searched for a suitable prey.
He could smell blood ahead of him. âWhat is it again?â he thought. The smell wasnât foreign but it was a distant memory to him. He stood there, puzzling over the smell.
âHumans!â as soon as the thought occurred to him a bullet went straight through his side.
âNot bullets!â someone shouted, âuse those wooden arrows, idiots. Heâs a vampire.â
Jungkook turned back and wanted to run. But someone had already shoot an arrow through one of his legs. He fell on his knees in pain.
âSo, this is the end of me.â He thought, âThey are going to lock me up in their lab and God knew whatever they are going to do to me.â
They started to come closer, pointing their weapons at him. There were too many of them for Jungkook to fight alone with his weak body. He started wondering whether he should lay still and let them take him or fight back and risk being killed on the process.
âNot today, fellas!â Someone shouted from behind them. All the humansâ attention went straight to the direction at once. In that brief moment of confusion, Jungkook hid himself behind a large tree nearby.
He could sense there was a fight; the bullets were fired and the arrows were thrown in every direction. The humansâ were panicking. Whatever their secret attacker was, it was really swift at its job.
Jungkook was trying to understand what it was. But with all the fuss, and too many humans around, he couldnât make out the smell. The fight continued for some time. Some of the humans were killed. Jungkook could tell by the smell of their fresh blood in the air. The remaining accepted their defeat and fled.
It was quiet for some time. A sweet voice spoke, âYou can come out, now. They are gone.â
Jungkook couldnât trust the stranger immediately. He was still traumatized because of the sudden attack. Then, a face appeared in front of him. He was startled and moved back in fear.
The face smiled, âItâs okay, donât be afraid.â
Jungkook was looking at the stranger with wide eyes, trying to make up his mind whether to trust him or not. The stranger gasped at the sight of his injury, âOh dear, youâre hurt. Come out. Let me help you.â
He held up his hand. Jungkook hesitantly took it and came out in to the open. A huge black wolf suddenly jumped at him and started to lick his face.
âTaehyung!â The gentle stranger spoke, âStop it. Youâre scaring him.â
The wolf got down and whined at him. He laughed, âI know heâs cute. But let him get used to us first.â He turned to Jungkook and said, âHeâs just very excited to meet you.â
The wolf nudged its head softly on Jungkookâs arm. For the first time in many years, a smile grew on his face.
âNo, no, no!â Yoongi kept muttering for the millionth time as he went through his papers again and again, âThis canât go wrong.â
âApparently, it has.â Said Seokjin while filing his nails.
âWhat went wrong?â Yoongi was too frustrated to hear him, âI did it all right. Everythingâs to the point; the potions, the signs, the spells.â
âMaybe you somehow pronounced it wrong?â Seokjin further suggested, âWith that forever pout on your mouth, it is not surprising.â
Namjoon was looking at those men in front of him. He was not scared even though he was locked up inside a cell. Instead, he was amused by the never ending bickering of the two.
âAs I made it pretty clear,â Namjoon cleared his throat to gain their attentions, âI think you are wasting my time and yours, locking me up like this.â
âThen, what do you suggest?â Yoongi asked, his voice dead serious, âLet you go? Just like that? After months of spending sleepless nights to work for this, you think I will let you go that easily?â
Namjoon sighed, âI canât come to your aid, either. You said it yourself, what you need specifically is an angel. And Iâm not one. At least, not anymore.â
The last words he spoke was almost in a whisper. But it was loud enough for Seokjin to catch. âWhat do you mean by that?â He rose up from his seat and gasped, âAre you a fallen angel, then? Oh my Gods! He is the devil. The devil!â
Yoongi let out a frustrated cry, âWill you please shut up making a fuss about everything?"
âIâm sorry,â Seokjin continued, âbut I think, you were the one making a fuss around all this time. Why canât you just do all these weird rituals again and call up an angel. This time, it might actually show up. After all, there are more angels than devils.â
âBecause,â Yoongi slammed his hand on the table, âIt can only be done once.â
âMaybe,â Namjoon interrupted their silly arguments again, âif you tell me the true motive behind your doings, I can help you find a real angel.â
âWell, no thanks.â Yoongi dismissed his proposal, âI donât think my motive is evil enough for a devilâs fancy.â
Namjoonâs voice turned really serious this time, âWhy donât you give it a try?â
The boy named Jimin, who had saved Jungkook earlier, had bound a handkerchief on his injured leg. He said, âThe wound should not last long. But since youâre too weak and who knows when the last time you had taken blood, I think it might take some time to heal.â
âUmm⌠four months.â Jungkook mumbled.
âPardon?â Jimin asked.
Jungkook said hesitantly, âItâs been four months since I last fed on blood.â
âNo way!â he gasped, âHow did you manage to survive all alone like that?â
Taehyung came back in his human form with a box smile on his face. Jungkook couldnât help noticing how incredibly young and handsome he looked.
âIâve hunted a stag.â He announced, âYou can have the blood while we feast on its meat.â
âThatâs settle then.â Jimin stood up and urged Jungkook to follow them.
After they were done with their dinner, Jimin and Taehyung introduced themselves. Jungkook found out that Jimin was a Gumiho, a nine tailed fox and Taehyung was a werewolf.
âMy name is Jeon Jungkook. Iâm a vampire.â
Jimin laughed out at his introduction, âOf course, we know that, silly. We also know a lot more about you.â
Jungkook looked puzzled, âHow?â
âFor instants, we know that youâve been living in that mansion for quite a long time and there is a legend about you in town. Since the formation of OHA, when all the supernatural beings were forced into hiding, you had faked your death to the OHA people to escape being captured. But nobody from town dared to come to your mansion yet. So far, you had hidden well, my friend.â
âYeah, youâre right.â Jungkook said, âBut since you brought up this matterâŚâ He didnât finish his sentence.
âWhat about it?â Jimin asked.
âI donât think I can go back to the mansion again. They might come back looking for me. The Humans!â
Jimin and Taehyung exchanged worried looks which made Jungkook very nervous. He was afraid they would refuse him to join their group.
Finally, Taehyung said with the same old box smile, âDonât you worry about it, little friend. You, me, Jimin, we are a set now.â
Kim Joon-Hwi, the founder and CEO of the âOrganization for Human Aidsâ, in short OHA, had been very upset lately. Because the progress on his works were getting slower by the day.
Once, there used to be a lot of super natural beings around. They could be easily caught and locked up. The research was blooming at the time. But slowly their numbers declined. Whatever left were now more careful than ever before.
The lab rats they had caught since the last 5 years were dying away fast. Some of them wouldnât cooperate and even attempted suicide to escape being tested by the scientists and wizards. There were even a small numbers to have escaped the facility.
âWe have found out that the ancient vampire called Jeon Jungkook is still alive and thriving in the woods, sir.â One of the guards came to inform him.
Kim Joon-Hwi turned to him, âSo, what now? Have you been able to catch him?â
âUnfortunately not, sir!â the guard said, âBut we have found out that there are other beings in that woods as well.â
âOther beings?â He was curious now, âWhat do you mean?â
âA werewolf and perhaps a Gumiho, sir, though we are not absolutely sure about it. He was in human form.â
âA Gumiho!â Kim Joon-Hwi exclaimed, âCome on, prepare all the guards immediately. Their location cannot be lost. Send the wizards too, if necessary.â
The guard bowed and left. Kim Joon-Hwi was really excited. The one and only Gumiho they had caught in 5 years died last year. It was the rarest of species to exist on earth that most people believed it had gone extinct.
âFinally some good news!â he thought.
âAlright,â Yoongi said, âIâve decided to trust you with my secret.â
âAhâŚâ Seokjin interrupted, âSo, youâre trusting a devil, now. Didnât I ask you first about that motive of yours?â
âThe thing is,â Yoongi continued as if no one had interrupted him, âIâm planning to take down OHA.â
Namjoon and Seokjin looked at each other. They stared intensely for quite a long time.
âThey are definitely judging me right now.â Yoongi thought. The next moment, they both burst into laughter.
âI thought you were serious.â Namjoon said, âWhich I still think you are. But your plan is an impossible dream. Canât you tell that? I mean, what gave you the notion that it could actually be done?â
Seokjin was still laughing, âOh God! Look at this kid. Who does he think he is?â
âLook!â Yoongi said, âIâm not in the mood to explain it all to you, guys. Youâve asked me to tell you my true motive and I did. Whether you believe it or not, thatâs up to you.â
After hours of mocking and shouting at each other, Yoongi was finally able to make them see his true vision. Half-heartedly they all agreed upon to pursue the goal of Yoongi.
Namjoon took them with him to meet the angel he had promised. Before he went inside, he turned to them one last time and said, âI want you both to remember that, in my thousand and one years on earth, this is the very first angel I had met a few days ago. If I had any other options, I would have probably taken you to the other ones. So, keep it in mind. He is our only Hope.â
As soon as Namjoon opened the door to the Arcade zone, someone came running to hug him.
âNamjoon-ahâŚâ he called in excitement, âYouâve finally come to meet me.â He was jumping like a five year old while still hugging Namjoon awkwardly.
He was covered with garments and fancy accessories from his head to toe. Colors of all kinds seemed to have been splashed all over him. Starting from bucket hats, chains, bracelets, sunglass, there was also a very weird looking pouch hanging by his pants. Overall he looked like a homeless picking up clothes from wherever he can to make up a messy outfit.
âGuys,â Namjoon gave them an apologetic look, âThis is Hoseok, the brightest angel to ever exist.â
âWhat the actual fuck?â Yoongi said.

The year 1021:
âWhen will it take place?â Namjoon asked his friend who came to visit him on his cell.
âTomorrow, during the sunset.â His angel friend replied.
Namjoon slowly nodded. He couldnât see her face properly due to the lack of light inside the cell. After all, there were no windows. Itâs just the fire outside which casted a little light through the door.
âThere is still time.â The angel came near him, âYou only have to make an official apology. They will let it slide this time.â
âDid the Guardian angel ordered you to say that?â Namjoon asked rather boldly.
The angel cleared her throat, âYes, she did. But I would have asked you to do the same.â
Namjoon let out a chuckle, âReally? You, of all people?â
âNamjoon,â she came to sit beside him and held his hands, which felt surprisingly cold against her warm skin, âPlease, do this for my sake. I canât bear to lose you.â
Namjoon caressed the back of her hands, âDonât worry, it will be less hard for you all. They are going to erase all of me from your memories. You will not even remember who I was.â
âDo you think I want that?â
âIt wouldnât matter anyway.â
âBut you will remember everything, wonât you? How will you live without us, without all of this?â
Namjoon kept silent. He tried to swallow down the growing lump in his throat. There was nothing he could do about the punishment. It was inevitable, unless he decided to step away from what he strongly believed. It was something impossible for him to do. He was a man, slave of his conscience.
The angel stood up and walked slowly towards the door. She stopped there and glanced back. At that moment, Namjoon desperately wanted to confess his love to her. He thought, âshe wouldnât remember me anyway.â
âDo you have anything left to tell me?â she asked.
Namjoon said, âI love you.â
The angel gave a painful laughter and nodded her head, âI know. I always did.â
Present day:
The sound of the heavy rain seemed to have muted the surrounding. A man in a rather large cloak was walking along the side of the street. The hood was covering most of his face. He kept glancing back every now and then as if he was afraid someone might follow him.
He bumped into someone as he took a turn. âSorry!â he mumbled.
âHave you gone blind?â the person said, his voice irritated, âLook, what you have done?â
It was only that some parts of his shirt got wet with the rain as his umbrella fell down. It would have been no big deal to an ordinary man. But he was no ordinary man. He was Kim Seokjin, son of the most beautiful being to ever exist, the goddess of love, Aphrodite.
âSorry,â the man in the cloak said once again and hurried towards his destination. But Seokjin grabbed him by his hand.
âWhere do you think you are going, young man? Iâm not finished with you yet.â
âSir,â the cloak man called, âDonât block my path. I canât deal with you now. I have an urgent work at hand.â
âWhat if I do block your path?â
âYou might regret it.â
âMake me!â Seokjin scoffed.
Then the cloak man did something unexpected. He took out a small bottle filled with some purple liquid from under his cloak and threw its content at Seokjinâs face.
âWhat theâŚâ before he could finish his sentence the cloak man jerked away from him and started to walk.
âHey!â he called as his vision started to get blurry, âWhat did you do to me?â He was completely in the dark by the time he finished his question.
âDonât worry, sir!â the cloak man yelled back at him, âItâll only last for a day.â
The year 1021:
Namjoon appeared before the anticipated crowd. His punishment was finally going to be announced and executed. He felt relieved. After days of being tormented and forced to step back from the decision he had made, it felt like a peaceful moment to be finally discharged, even if that meant he was to be banished to the earth.
All the heavenly figures looked at him, some with curiosity in their eyes, some with hatred and despise, while some with grief, even some with pride and admiration. It occurred to him then, why the devil was the first to be casted away from the heaven. There were more fallen angels after him that nobody knew of or simply didnât care about.
Namjoon stood straight in front of the Guardian angel. His posture showed that he wasnât afraid. He was ready to accept the punishment for declining the Godsâ order. The only thing that bothered him was losing his wings. The wings, which he was born with. The pain was equivalent to someone losing their arms or legs, perhaps even more
âKim Namjoon,â The Guardian called, âYou were one of the best angels we had. How did it come to this?â
Namjoon remained silent. He kept pondering over the word, âwereâ.
âWe will ask you once again.â The Guardian further said, âDo you accept your mistake and apologize to the whole angel community and the Gods and the Goddesses above?â
âI do apologize to the whole community for not being able to be a better leader. For if I was, Iâm sure they would have followed me to the path I chose for myself. But alas! Not a single angel accepted my proposal.â
Hearing this, the crowd broke into a loud protest. The Guardian angel gestured them to remain quiet. Then, she added, with a loud and clear voice, âIf it is so, we are afraid you will be banished from the heaven and send to the earth down below."
âI accept my punishment gladly.â Namjoon said, his voice sharp.
The Guardian sighed. There was a hint of pain visible on her face. âDo you have any last wish to make?â she finally asked.
âI wish to keep my wings. This is the only request I make to the majesty. And if your majesty refuses, I would make no protest neither any more requests.â
Another shout broke out from the crowd. Someone yelled, âWings are the sign of angels. How can you wish to keep it, you devil?â
âSilence.â The guardian rose from her seat. The crowd grew silent once again.
She turned to Namjoon and declared, âKim Namjoon, I officially give you the permission to keep your wings. But there is a condition. Once on earth, your wings will bear the color pitch black as a mark of disgrace.â
Namjoon bowed his head with his white wings opened wide. He had accepted the condition.
Present day:
The man in the cloak proceeded to his basement. He had found everything he needed, every answer to his questions. What was left to be done was building up his courage to finally do the task.
âWell, well,â someone spoke up from behind him, âif it isnât the wizard in disguise.â
Before the man could move, he was pulled back by a rope. He sat down on a chair with a thump and the intruder immediately tied him up in a flash. He recognized the stranger at once. It was no other than Kim Seokjin.
âWho are you?â he asked, âHow did you find me?â
âWait!â Seokjin held up a hand in front of him, âI think itâs my turn to ask you questions.â
âYouâre underestimating my power, whoever you are.â The man said it like a threat.
Seokjin started to laugh, âYou sound a lot more confident than in the state you are in.â
When he was about to say something more Seokjin held up his hand once again and said, âFirst, hear me out. This is not just an ordinary rope. Itâs called the rope of Hestia. I believe youâve heard about it.â
The man nodded and said as a matter of fact, âI see.â he seemed to think for a while. Then, he added, âSince youâve recovered from my spell sooner than any ordinary man and carrying one of the most important items of a Goddess, you are definitely no mortal. Now tell me what you are? A God? Perhaps a Demigod?â
âYouâre quick, I see.â Seokjin said, impressed.
The man scoffed at this remark, âHow did you get hold of that rope?â
Seokjin thought for a moment, âLetâs say, Hestia was really impressed by me.â
âLetâs say, you actually stole it.â
âWhatever, it doesnât matter now. Since youâre unable to tell any lie, I ask you to reveal your true identity at once.â
The man sighed and answered, âMy nameâs Min Yoongi. I am 24 years of age. I am a wizard by professionâŚâ
âWait, what?â Seokjin interrupted him, âYouâre a year younger than me? No way, you look like a father of two already.â He started to laugh again.
Yoongi was getting really annoyed by his jokes, âCan we please get to the point? What do you want from me?â
âThe truth.â Seokjin replied flatly, âI know youâre up to something. Tell me what it is.â
Yoongi replied, âIâm trying to summon up an angel.â
Both of them gasped at once; Seokjin, for the shocking revelation and Yoongi, to have found out that the rope of Hestia actually worked on him.
Present day:
Namjoon sat by the corner in a bench. It was his usual place. He loved it here because it was peaceful and somewhat relaxing. The children could be seen playing at a distance, their chattering could be heard.
Someone came to sit beside him, âIf you donât mind, may I sit in here?â
Namjoon nodded his head in affirmation. The lady tried to make a small conversation. But since Namjoon didnât sound very enthusiastic in his replies, she didnât continue any further.
Namjoon had no other option but to follow this rule he had made for his safety in this dangerous world. If anyone found out about his true identity, he would get caught. Then, Gods knew what would be his final fate.
A Frisbee was thrown at his direction. A kid was gesturing him to throw it back to them. Namjoon stood up and walked towards it to pick it up.
Suddenly, his head started to spin. First, it seemed like his surroundings were vibrating. As he looked towards the ground, he felt it to be shaking rather violently.
Namjoon panicked. âWhatâs happening to me?â he thought.
He started to lose his sight as everything started to get blurry. The lady asking him if he was okay sounded very distant to him. Then, something exploded in his head.
âUgh,â he growled in pain. The back of his shirt was torn. The large black wings, which was by then invisible to the mortal eyes, appeared in his back.
The children started to cry and scream in fear. The lady started to take a few steps back, âWhat is this thing?â she yelled, âOh my God! Someone call the emergency.â
Then, his knees gave up and he fell to the ground. But what was expected to be a grassland, turned out to be a hard floor beneath him. His head started to feel normal again and the visions slowly came back to him. He knew by his surrounding that he was at a very different place now. He could hear a conversation before him distinctively.
âDoes it look like an angel to you?â someone asked.
âWell, I donât know.â Another replied in annoyance, âYou are the one whoâs supposed to have seen angels in real life.â
âAnd I did.â The first one said, âBut trust me, never in my life had I seen an angel with black wings, fully dressed in black from his head to toe.â

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 (Complete)
*************************************************
I confessed to my mother about getting back most of my past memories. Some of them were still blurry. But I was remembering everything eventually. I told mother I wanted to take a break from school for the day. I was still not prepared to face Jungkook or any of them.
After the school was over, both Jin and Jungkook stopped by my house. My mother told them how overwhelmed I felt as my memories came back and that I didnât want to meet anyone just then.
I had been getting calls after calls from the boys. Some of them even texted me, asking if what my mother said were true. I neither picked up the calls nor replied to them. I had decided it was better to avoid them. I didnât need any fake friends in my life. Nina was enough.
But I knew, deep inside, I was hurting. It pained me to even think about not talking to the boys anymore. All I knew for the past few months were the boys. They had been in everything I was doing. Without them, I wouldnât even be able to recover as fast as I did.
I stayed in my room the whole day and cried. I felt like I was broken into pieces and I would never be able to put them together. Every beautiful experience I had with the boys felt like a lie.
Since Taehyung kept calling me non-stop, I thought it would be better to let them know how I felt about them now.
*************************************************
Taehyung: Finally youâve answered. What happened, Leah? Are you okay?
Leah: Iâll get straight to the point, Taehyung. Itâs true that Iâve got my memories back.
*A pause*
Taehyung: So, you remember everything?
Leah: Everything.
Taehyung: Are you mad at us?
Leah: What do you think, Taehyung? Should I?
Taehyung: Listen, Leah. Weâre all really sorry for everything, okay?
Leah: Stop it! I donât need your apologies. I just want you to convey the message to the rest of the boys. I donât want you guys near me anymore. Our so called friendship ends here.
*************************************************
The next day in school, I sat with Nina avoiding Jungkook. But he came to sit behind us and started to say how sorry he was for his past actions and that he deeply regretted them now and other stuffs like that.
I said, âYou have apologized and I took it. But I still donât want to talk to you anymore.â
Jungkook still followed me to the cafeteria at lunch break. I was really annoyed at the way he was acting. âCould you please stop following me?â I almost shouted at his face.
âPlease, LeahâŚâJungkook tried to say something more when I turned to go. Then, he grabbed my hand.
I looked him dead in the eyes and said boldly, âThis is the last time Iâm going to tell you this, leave me alone.â
Instead of letting go of my hand, Jungkook took a step toward me. That was when I slapped him, really hard on his face. As soon as I did, I regretted it. Some of the students were staring at us by then.
âLeah,â Jungkookâs voice trembled as he looked at me in disbelieve, âYou hate me so much, donât you?â
*************************************************
Jimin had texted me to meet him even if it was the last time I did. I was very upset about the whole school affair. To ease my unsettling brain, I thought it would be better to talk it out.
As I waited for Jimin in the nearby park, I kept replaying in my mind how Jungkook had looked at me after I had hit him. I knew I would never forget that look.
I saw Jimin approaching me from a distance. He brought flowers for me again. He came to me and smiled. Even with the smile on his face, he still looked sad. It was hard to be mad at Jimin. I took the purple flowers from his hand.
âI know how youâre feeling, Leah.â he said and it sounded like he really did.
I started to cry, âWhy did you have to be so cruel to me?â
âWeâre really sorry, Leah.â Jiminâs voice broke as he struggled to say the right words. âWe were stupid. Trust me, if only we knew just how much you would mean to us, we would have never done that.â
âYou said you care for me!â
âAnd we do.â Jimin stepped forward and hugged me. There was a feeling of comfort in his arms. I buried my face on his chest as he gently stroked my hair. âJust trust us this one time and we wouldnât let you down.â
I nodded. There was no way I could stay away from them. They had become a part of me. As much as I hated to admit it, I knew I loved them.
*************************************************
The boys had arranged a special dinner for me. The reason was obviously to apologize to me officially. I called Nina to ask if she was coming. She said that the dinner was meant for me and sheâd better not intrude.
I was having mixed feelings toward the dinner. I kept worrying whether I had made the right decision or not. I felt like I really didnât have any choice. I loved the boys too much to break off the friendship that was so precious to me.
Even if I could now remember everything, most part of my life I had felt empty. These past few months I had spent with the boys were the most exciting part of my life. No matter how terrible they had been to me before the accident, they had been double nice to me afterwards.
I had put on my best dress to go to the dinner party. When my mother saw me, she literally gasped and said that I looked so pretty. Before I got out of the house, she told me that she was glad that I had finally found the friends I deserved and that she had never seen me so happy before.
Jin came to pick me up since I still didnât have the driving license. He was awestricken when he saw me. âLeah,â he said, âyou look beautiful.â Then immediately he added, âeven though thatâs nothing compared to me.â I punched him in the arm and got in to the car.
Once I got down from the car, I ran straight to Jungkook and hugged him. "I'm really sorry, Kookie. I didn't mean to hurt you." I said after releasing him from my arms.
Jungkook shook his head and said, "No, Leah. It should be me apologizing to you instead. I AM SORRY!"
"Can we please skip this part?" Yoongi poked his head in between us and gave me his huge gummy smile, melting me right at the spot.
As soon as the other boys saw me they started to shower me with compliments. None of them could deny the fact that I looked beautiful in that dress. I was blushing really hard and told them to stop it.
After some times of talking and fooling around just like the old times, I almost forgot about all the worries I had earlier. Hoseok stood up and declared, "It is now time for the special performance that we've arranged for our precious friend, Leah."
The boys arranged their position to sit facing me. Namjoon said, "This is the song I wrote just for you when you were in the coma."
Then, they started to sing, one by one. It was so beautiful. The music was really soothing. It calmed me right away. And what could I say about the lyrics. It was so heart-warming.
They had admitted their fault of not being good friends to me. They had failed to realize my worth. They had regretted their actions once I was gone. There was nothing in this world that they could ask for other than my forgiveness and the promise of our friendship.
They said those words in the most poetic way and it made me tear up. Once the song was over I hugged them all, one by one. I said that I was so lucky to have them in my life, that I had already forgiven them and that I wished to continue our friendship till death.
We sat at the dinner table and made a toast to our friendship. We ate and drank till our stomachs could no longer take it anymore.
Then, the disco lights were turned on and we danced to the loud music. It was the best night I had spent in my entire life.
Being exhausted, I went to sit beside Jin, who had already given up dancing at that point. We laughed at the other boys doing stupid dance moves.
I rested my head on Jinâs shoulder. "See," Jin said, "I promised, we'd make it up to you, didn't I?"

*************************************************
It had been some months. I was getting used to the new life without my old memories. I still had some flashbacks. But most of them were confusing and I couldnât make any sense out of them. So, avoiding them were better. So far, everything seemed to be okay.
I was showered with love and affection from my family. My step father would bring me chocolates, ice creams and other snacks every day when he returned from the office. My mother would often ask me what I wished for dinner.
But the boys were a little too extra. They had been pampering me with flowers, gifts and attention. It was cute but embarrassing at the same time. I would put a few words on their behaviors.
Jungkook would not let me sit with Nina in the class. He would always save a seat for me beside him and Nina had to sit behind us. He would follow us everywhere from the cafeteria to the playground. Slowly Nina started to like him too and now we were kind of a golden trio of our class.
After school I had dance classes at evening where I would meet Hoseok and Jimin regularly. They would come to watch me perform whenever they were free. As I was always late to leave they would wait for me after their practices were over and walk me to my house every day.
Jin would frequently send me special foods that he cooked with his master-chef quality. I would sometimes go over to their house with Nina for dinner. He would also teach me how to cook different items. But cooking with Jin mostly ended up with both of us being frustrated; him, for not being able to teach me and me, for being too clumsy to do it.
Namjoon would lend me his favorite books. We would often sit together and read. Those times we wouldnât really talk much, but being around him was somehow comforting.
Whenever I was looking forward to having some fun, I would always go to Taehyung. On the contrary, whenever I was feeling down and didnât want anyone being too loud, Yoongi would be my comfort zone.
Somehow, the boys had grown on me by the time. Now I felt like I wouldnât be able to be apart from them at any cost. I knew, I would gladly sacrifice myself to save them again just like I did before.
*************************************************
I was aware about the fact that some of the students didnât like me and they talked behind my back. Nina had suggested me to avoid them and so I did.
But one thing didnât go unnoticed. Almost everyone would call me and the Bangtan Boys âSnow White and the seven dwarfsâ. I knew they were probably teasing me because the boys were giving me a lot of attention than needed. But one day I heard a group discussing the matter. âThink about the irony,â one of them said, âa black girl being the Snow White.â Then they started to giggle.
I wouldnât say that I didnât care at all because I actually did. By the end of the day, I would sometimes cry myself to sleep thinking about how mean they were toward me.
I told Yoongi about the matter. He remained silent for some time. At last, he said, âThey donât really know you. Donât let them put you down.â
There was something which was confusing me. And that was the fact that whenever Jungkook tried to defend me they would say stuff like, âSince when are you taking her side?â Jungkook would go red in the face and wonât say anything else.
Jin always gave me a ride home from school since he was in charge of taking Jungkook back home. So, Jungkook and I would always wait for him to arrive. On such an occasion, one day, one boy from our class approached us and started to cut jokes about how I was such a drama queen and that I was just pretending to have an amnesia to get special treatment from the boys. When Jin came to rescue us, the boy asked him, âAre you guys worshipping her as a superhero now?â
That made Jin really angry and he started to scream at the boy. He warned him not to do the same mistake again. Otherwise he would have to say goodbye to his dear legs. That scared the boy off.
I was trying to put the pieces together. Everything seemed to point to the fact that the Bangtan Boys used to be one of them. They had also made fun of me before the accident. But it was hard for me to imagine that. These boys were too kind to me. How could I believe that they were also capable of such cruelty?
I decided I would ask Nina. I had to know the truth. THE WHOLE TRUTH...
*************************************************
I sat motionless on my bed, tears rolling down my cheeks. I couldnât believe what I had learned from Nina earlier today.
I practically begged Nina to tell me exactly what kind of relationship I was in with the boys before my accident. She told me that the truth might hurt me. But I was determined to know it anyway. And so she told me everything.
I was being bullied by the entire school. When Nina joined, it was reduced a little though not wholly. By the time, people got bored as I kept avoiding them. But the Bangtan Boys had been especially mean toward me and their teasing never stopped until the accident. They had been regretting their acts since then.
Nina told me, âI personally hated them too. But I think they have really changed a lot. Thatâs why I kept the truth away from you thinking they might deserve a chance.â
I didnât say anything further to Nina about the matter. I came back home. I couldnât sleep as I kept thinking about the boys all night. Then, it suddenly clicked. All the memories seemed to be poured down to my brain all at once.
I sat up on my bed, my eyes closed. The last thing I remembered was the scene of the accident.

************************************************* Â
The doctor had suggested me to stay in the hospital for three more days and to take rest for the whole week even when I go home. The seven boys had made a schedule to meet me one at a time throughout the week. That sounded alright to me since I wanted to know them individually and talking in a group did not allow much opportunities.
************************************************* Â
Day 1: Hoseok knew the steps tooâŚ
I was lying on my hospital bed. Hoseok had been sitting next to me on a chair while humming a song that sounded familiar to me. âWhat is this song?â I asked.
âTightrope by Michelle Williamsâ he replied, âdo you remember it? It was your favorite song to do ballet on.â
âIt rings a bell.â I said.
He smiled at me and said, âI canât wait to see you do ballet again.â I smiled back. I couldnât wait to do it too. I wanted to know the feeling of dancing again.
âOh, donât make that face.â Hoseok pouted.
âWhat face?â
âThat Smile-through-the-pain face. It hurts right here.â He put his hands on the left side of his chest to indicate his heart. The cute faces he was making were enough to melt my heart away and I laughed. This time it was genuine.
âGet up.â He said, âI donât think anyoneâs coming to check on you now.â
I did as he asked me to. He turned on the song I knew so well on his phone and came toward me. He took my hands in his. Then, we started to move along the music. We danced and danced. I closed my eyes to feel every beat. Hoseok didnât need to lead me. I already knew every step of it.
The song ended. I opened my eyes and stared into his, breathing heavily. We were standing too close to hear each otherâs heart beating, fast but rhythmic.
************************************************* Â
Day 2: Jungkook spilled the truth...
Jungkook was complaining an awful lot about how he had missed half of the day because his hyungs had made him go to the school.
âItâs okay.â I said, âWe still have enough time.â
âWe have time, though,â he said in an annoyed voice, âbut not enough.â
I had been pondering over the fact that Jungkook had stopped going to the school since I was in a coma. That sounded like we were very close. Hesitantly I finally asked him about it.
Jungkookâs face turned red as he shook his head slowly.
âNo?â I asked, âThen why would you stop going to the school?â
âDonât you know about the accident?â he asked in a serious voice.
What could the accident had to do with it? I was told that I was hit by a car and ended up being in a coma. But nobody gave me any details about it.
âWhat about it?â I asked.
âIt was supposed to be us.â He said, his voice sad, âme and the boys.â
âSupposed to be?â I was confused.
Jungkook explained how they had been drunk that night. If it werenât for them, I wouldnât have ended up the way I did. Jungkookâs eyes were filling up with tears.
âCome on, Jungkookie!â I tried to cheer him up, âI must have cared for you enough to have save you like that.â
âYes, you did.â A tear fell from his eye, âOnly we didnât do the same.â
*************************************************
Day 3: Namjoon defended the boys...
I woke up hearing a rather loud conversation in the hospital corridor. It sounded like Nina was arguing with someone. I went closer to the door and I could hear what the other parties were saying.
âI can allow some of you,â Nina was saying, âBut never Jin and Yoongi. I bet theyâre still planning to prank her the way they always did.â
âNina!â It was one of the boys, but I couldnât recognize the voice, âWeâve talked about this. I promise you, nothingâs going to happen to her. Weâve learned our lessons.â
âI donât trust you.â Nina snapped back, âYou guys are capable of anything.â
âAlright!â he sounded exhausted, âHow about we talk about it later, this evening? Does that sound good?â
There was no reply from Nina. I could hear footsteps approaching my door. So, I quickly ran toward my bed, grabbed a book from the table and sat there pretending I was reading.
Namjoon opened the door and as soon as he met my eyes, his grim face broke into a smile. I smiled back at him, not knowing what to do otherwise.
âAre you done with that one?â he pointed at the book I was holding.
âJust a little bit left.â I lied, though I had already finished reading it yesterday.
âHere,â he handed me the book he bought with him, âI hope youâll like this one.â It was âMe Before Youâ by Jojo Moyes. I took the book and thanked him.
I didnât want to talk to him. I was too confused about the conversation that I just overheard. Somehow, hearing Nina not being able to trust them made me question their behaviors. Why were these boys being so good to me?
To avoid Namjoon, I pretended to read my book. He seemed to have understood that I was not in a mood to talk. He patiently waited for me quietly. After an hour, when I was still not paying any attention to him, he rose up.
âIâll get going, then. Enjoy the book while youâre still here. Theyâre gonna release you tomorrow. So, good luck!â
*************************************************
Day 4: Jin made a promise...
I felt really bad the whole day once Namjoon was gone. I felt bad for suspecting him. He was such a gentleman. There was no way, he would try to hurt me. I thought of taking a chance to meet the boys and get to know them by myself. I was not going to judge them just because of something I overheard.
The next day, I was released from the hospital. My mother, stepfather, Nina and Jin came to take me home. As expected, Nina was not comfortable about Jin being there. It was visible on her facial expression.
When we reached home, everyone was busy making me feel comfortable, asking me if I needed anything. I said I wanted to stay at my room if that was okay. My mother nodded.
Nina and Jin followed me to my room. It was evident that Nina was not going to let me be alone with Jin today. I did not make any complaints either.
When Jin failed to get any attention from the two of us, he announced, âLeah, do you remember that I am a great cook? Master chef actually. Just wait and see how Iâm going to surprise you.â Saying that he went to the kitchen while Nina rolled her eyes.
Jin came back with two bowls of hot ramen. âOops!â he said, âI forgot that Ninaâs with us.â And then he started to giggle like an idiot which made me laugh too.
âVery funny!â Nina said in an annoyed voice. Then she bought a pair of chopstick for herself and shared the ramen with mine.
As I slurped the ramen I remembered something from the past. I had an allergic reaction from ramen in the school cafeteria. Someone had mixed MSG with my ramen.
âWas it you?â I asked Jin.
He was confused but seemed to have understood the graveness of the matter. âWhat is it, dear?â he asked.
âDid you ever prank me by putting MSG in my ramen?â
He was startled as if he didnât expected me to remember that. Nina sighed but stayed silent, wanting him to explain it himself.
âIâŚâ he hesitated, âYeah. But I didnât know you would have such a violent attack. It was meant to be a joke.â
âThank you but Iâm not eating that.â I pushed the bowl away from me, âCan you guys please leave? Iâm tired.â
Nina nodded and walked out of my room. Jin sat there for a while, his expression unreadable. Then, he slowly walked to the door. He turned to me and said, âIâm sorry, Leah. I promise we will make it up to you.â
*************************************************
Day 5: Jimin had cuteness in his bagâŚ
The doorbell rang. I knew it was one of the boys. I stayed in my room and heard my mother open the door. There was a few minutes of greeting. Then came a knock on my door.
âCome inâ I said.
Jimin peaked his head first. âHello!â he called with a smile. He had bought flowers again. This time it was orange tulips. He handed me those.
âAre you a florist?â I asked. In reply, Jimin just laughed.
I was still not over yesterday. I had a feeling that I had shared a somewhat bitter-sweet relationship with the boys. Nina had told me that the boys were trying their best to be better. I asked her what that meant. She just shrugged her shoulders and told me that she would let me figure it out eventually.
âAre you still mad?â Jimin asked pouting his lip. He looked too cute for me to remain mad at him.
âJimin,â I said, âwill you tell me something honestly?â Jimin sat beside me and said, âAsk away.â
âWhy are you guys being so nice to me?â
âBecause we care for you.â Jimin said. Before I could say anything further, he added, âI know, you might be having some doubts. But trust me, we really do.â
I felt like I could trust him. I pushed my suspicions away and said, âSo tell me, what we are going to do?â
Jimin grinned, âJust wait and see what I have in my mind.â
It was true. There werenât any fun games left that we didnât play. Starting from painting old stuffs, we played video games, card games and board games, we even played a little hide and seek around the neighborhood. Finally at night, we watched a movie together.
Jimin really had a charm about him. It was hard not being happy around him. Unexpectedly the day went too good. Even my mother noticed that I was happy. And when I went to sleep at night, I was already missing Jimin.
*************************************************
Day 6: Taehyung made a valid pointâŚ
I waited for the next Bangtan boy to arrive. I really had fun with Jimin that I was regretting being rude with Namjoon and Jin. I told myself that these boys were probably very fun loving and made jokes without thinking about the consequences. I let Ninaâs words assure me that they were trying their best to be better.
The sun had already sat when Taehyung showed up in my house. I was getting a little angry at that time.
âWhy bother coming at all?â I asked him first thing once we met.
Taehyung said, âeeehâ to show me his teeth.
âWhat was that for?â
âI had a sudden toothacheâ he said, âhad to see a dentist. It was really scary.â Then he started massaging his cheeks.
âAww!â I said, âIâm so sorry, dear. Does it still hurt?â Taehyung pouted his lips and nodded.
âSince its already dark,â I continued, âwanna go sky gazing?â
âYes! Letâs do that.â
We were lying down on our back in the backyard. There were not much stars to be seen. But staring at the empty sky was somewhat peaceful. I was thinking about how my life had turned out, how little I knew about myself and others. It was really overwhelming.
âIâm scared for the first time since I woke up.â I said to Taehyung.
Taehyung looked at me and asked, âWhy are you scared of me?â
âIâm not scared of you, silly!â I chuckled, âIâm just scared about the fact that Iâm all empty inside.â
âYouâre not.â Taehyungâs voice suddenly sounded very serious, âYouâre still the same you. Itâs just the memories thatâs gone.â
âBut arenât memories what make us who we are?â I asked, turning to face him.
âI donât know. But hey! We can always make new memories.â Taehyung tried to cheer me up, âWhy donât you take it as a fresh start; a new chapter of your life?â
âA new chapterâ I whispered, âat least Iâm glad I have you guys.â
*************************************************
Day 7: Yoongi showed his humorous sideâŚ
âI canât believe itâs raining at this time of the season.â Yoongi said. He was a little grumpy today. He had planned to surprise me by taking me to see the local basketball match. But due to bad weather and the fact that the match was to be played in the open, it was cancelled.
âItâs alright, Yoongi!â I put my hand on his shoulder, âtake me there some other time. You should be happy that itâs raining or else Nina would have showed up.â
Yoongi gave a fake smile, âOh yeah! Thank God that Nina is not here today.â
Since we couldnât find anything interesting to do, we tried to solve an extremely hard puzzle, which exhausted us both. We couldnât even find any interesting topic to talk about. We were getting bored at a point when Yoongi suggested to make a bucket list each for the next 10 years to come.
I said, âTae told me last night that it was a new chapter of my life. Making a bucket list sound like a good place to start.â
âSo without further ado, letâs get started.â Yoongi bought two pieces of papers and pens for us and we both started to write whatever came to our minds.
âNumber one: Go see the Egyptian Pyramid.â I said aloud while writing.
âNumber one for me would be going to the city, Barcelonaâ Yoongi wrote.
So we kept writing. What food we wanted to taste? What classics we wanted to read? How many pets we wanted to own? What our future home would be like? Etc. etc.
âNumber 27â I said, âExperience a burning and passionate love.â
Yoongi paused to think his number 27. Then with a smirk, he said, âHelp you experience a burning and passionate love.â
We both broke out into laughter. It was rather hilarious hearing a grumpy boy like Yoongi saying something so silly.

Other than Jungkook, the boys were having lunch together, when Jiminâs phone rang. It was Nina. Jiminâs heart skipped a bit. âCould it be about Leah?â he thought.
Jimin received the call even though there was a grunt heard from Jin. There was a pause. He asked, âReally?â Another pause. âWhat do you mean?â Then after a moment he hanged up. His eyes were twinkling.
âWho was it?â Namjoon asked eagerly.
âNina.â All the boysâ attention came to Jimin now. âLeahâs awake.â Jimin finally broke the silence.
There were sigh of reliefs from some of them while the others sat in disbelief. âNo way!â Hoseok rose from his seat, âare you serious?â
Within a moment, they were all cheering to each other. Jin was already making a toast to celebrate the good news. Jimin thought, âShould I tell them about the bad one now?â
Yoongi noticed the change in Jiminâs expression, âWhat happened?â he asked, âis there something more?â
âYes, actually.â Jimin said, âLeah seemed to have suffered from amnesia. She canât recognize anyone precisely nor can she recall any past memories.â
The boys felt silent again, thinking. Finally, Namjoon had an idea, âWhy donât we use it to our advantage?â
âHuh?â was the only thing that came out of Jimin.
âThink about it this way,â Namjoon started to explain, âshe would have hated us all if she could remember what we had done to her in the past. But now, we can get our redemptions that weâve been wanting so badly these past months. Letâs work together to help her get better. We can finally be real friends.â
Namjoonâs idea sounded great. All the boys agreed. They really felt like they had been given a second chance.
âSo, whoâs gonna break the news to Jungkook, huh?â Taehyung asked with a smirk on his face.
Jungkook had never been this happy in his entire life, not even when he came first in every school race. In excitement he forgot about all his rage and hugged Taehyung. They both were laughing like idiots now.
*************************************************
The first thing that caught my attention as soon as I woke up was the bright yellow sunflowers. I was trying to absorb my surroundings. I realized I was lying on a hospital bed beside which was a table where the flowers were put on a vase.
A nurse came in and then everything started to happen at once. A doctor came, followed by a young girl. Questions were asked. How was I feeling? How much could I remember about the accident? Could I recall my name? Did I recognize the girl?
That was when I noticed that I couldnât recall any precise memory. I could not remember the reason why I ended up in the hospital. All I could remember were some facts like my name and age. I could form an image of my mother in my mind but I couldnât remember anything about her either.
I was afraid. I asked the doctor what was happening to me. The doctor didnât give an exact answer. Rather he suggested me to take some rest and went away, along with the girl, outside.
Afterwards, I learned that I had been in coma for more than two months and had suffered an amnesia. The girl I saw earlier was my best friend, Nina. We had been friends for almost eight years. My mother and step father also came to visit me. The meetings were really awkward. I didnât know what to say. But I recognized my mother and lied to her that I had remembered something about us so that she wouldnât be very upset.
The group of boys came in the evening. For some reason, Nina didnât seem to be happy about their arrival. She didnât talk to them, but remain beside me the whole time.
One of the boys approached me with yellow roses on his hand. âWelcome back!â He smiled at me, âWeâve missed you.â
I smiled back. Though I couldnât seem to recognize them, they had a familiar scent about them. I felt like I knew them for a long time.
They stayed with me for some time, introducing themselves one at a time. I found out the boy who brought me flowers and had been bringing them every day while I was in a coma, was named Jimin. He was the sweetest.
I felt comfortable throughout the evening. They assured me that they would help me with my school works since I had missed two months of classes. I also learned that Jungkook, a boy in my class, had also stopped going to the school since I was in a coma. I felt that we might had been really close.
At a point, we were already close enough to cut jokes. Though Nina was not joining in our conversation at first, she eventually gave in.
We were laughing at something Jin had said, when I suddenly had a flashback; there were the boys and me, laughing just like today. But for a reason, I felt like they were rather laughing at me.
Jin noticed something in my face. He carefully asked, âAre you alright, dear?â I shook my head and said that I was feeling dizzy and that I needed to rest. Nina asked the boys to leave so that I could rest. Reluctantly they left.

Fandom: BTS Pairing: OT7 Ă OC (Leah) Warning:Â Bullies, heart condition, divorced parents, etc. Genre:Â Angst Summary:Â Leahâs little background check and the start of it all...
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6 - Part 7 (Complete)
*************************************************
The nameâs Leah and Iâm 17 years old. Being born with a heart murmur and having a heart surgery as a baby, gave me the advantage of being spoiled by my whole family.
My parents were originally from Trinidad and Tobago. But I was born and grew up in America. Everything in my life was great until I reached 9 and my parents got divorced, leaving my safe haven being torn apart from the center.
I said my last goodbye to my father with tears on my face and moved with my mother to South Korea. She remarried a South Korean retired marine within a year. My step-father too, like my biological one, spoiled me with everything I wanted.
The main problem was outside my house, the people from the neighborhood. I was always considered an outsider. Being the only black girl in school was really tough for me, until my best friend, Nina joined.
Then there was this boy in class, Jungkook. At first, I considered him to be extremely shy. I really liked him and wanted to be friends. But it turned out to be a nightmare.
Jungkook took me to meet his group of some older boys from the neighborhood. The first meeting proved how wrong I was about Jungkook. He was the naughtiest kid I had ever encountered whenever he was in front of his hyungs.
Speaking of his hyungs, they were crazy as hell. They teased me with such mean comments I never expected on a first meeting. I was on the verge of tearing up when one of them, Namjoon, stopped the others and told me to go away.
Since then I tried my best to avoid them. Even during classes I would avoid sitting with Jungkook and talking with him. But they didnât give up. It seemed like they really enjoyed bullying me. During breaks, they would all come to our class often to tease me or to make some remarks about me, making others laugh.
This continued, even after we got into high school. Seemed like they always had something new for me and they never got bored. I tried my best to avoid them. But at times, I would aggressively react to their behaviors making them shut up for some days, only for them to return with more jokes after.
I did ballet since I was 2. It was something like breathing to me. I didnât love doing it, but it was a part of me anyway. I was taking ballet class where every now and then I bumped into Hoseok and Jimin. They also took dance classes. Mostly when they were alone, they would either ignore me or would try to talk nicely. But if they were together, they could make me wish I never took the classes in the first place.
The boysâ behaviors were really confusing sometimes. Most people assumed we were close friends, since we could be seen together in many places, though it was always them following me. Sometimes the boys would actually try to treat me nicely and then again went back to being their old selves.
So, this was a life I was used to. The teasing and hurtful comments they made about me was somehow bearable until at a point, it got worse and I slowly started to hate them.
But if I had to tell the truth, I pitied them more than I hated them. Here they were, seven very young boys, living together without any guardian. Who could teach them how to behave?
I felt like these boys lack the most important emotion it takes to be a human. The Bangtan Boys lack love.

*************************************************
The night was freezing cold. I remembered rubbing my hands to generate some heat while I walked down the road. I was coming back to my home from my best friend, Ninaâs house. It was already past midnight and though she insisted me to stay at her place for the night, I still refused. Walking through the chilly night, I was regretting that decision.
There was some shouting coming from a group of boys in the middle of the road. They looked too drunk to even understand what they were doing. I got closer, being annoyed and worried at the same time that they might run into some accidents.
"Yoongi, you little freak!" One of them shouted.
I froze. It was no other than the boy named Jungkook from my class with his pack of boys he called his hyungs. The group who called themselves "Bangtan Boys". The boys who had been bullying me for the past 8 years for fun.
"Look who's here to keep us company?" Jin, the oldest of them shouted. It was too late. They'd already seen me.
Jin came toward me, putted one of his hands around my neck and leaned on me, "Why? It's our wife, Leah."
I was standing stiff on my place. But his whole body mass seemed to work against mine and my legs gave up. I was being pushed towards the group.
The laughter from the boys were still ringing on my ears when I noticed the speedy car, honking its horn, coming towards us. I had to think fast. They were too drunk to make it to the side of the road. I made the decision.
I pushed two of the boys standing in front of me with all of my might causing them to push the ones in front of them. I saw some of them tripped and fell.
And then, I was hit.
*************************************************
The boys were all standing still, too shocked to react. The car that hit Leah was a bit further. A man on his 40âs got down from it. He was talking on his phone frantically and swearing occasionally.
Taehyung quietly walked toward Leah and sat down beside her, âLeah,â he called, hoping against hope that she was fine, that it was all just a prank she was playing to get back at them. But Leah laid motionless.
Taehyung hold her head up and took it on his lap. Then he noticed the blood on his hands. âShitâ he swore too loudly to make the others come to their senses.
âIs sheâŚâ Jiminâs voice cracked. He couldnât finish the sentence.
Jin sat down beside Taehyung. He touched her side of the neck to feel the pulse, âSheâs alive. I can feel her pulse.â A sigh of relief left from some of the boys.
âButâ Taehyung stammered to form the right words, âthe blood⌠IâŚsheâŚtoo muchâŚwhat ifâŚâ he broke down, crying. Jin took Leahâs head on his lap while Jimin embraced Taehyung, trying to calm him down.
A siren was heard. Everything happened in a blur. Leah was carried to the ambulance. There were people checking on the boys if they were hurt. The police man was interrogating them about the accident. Taehyung kept crying despite everyone reassuring him that it was going to be okay.
But above all, the guilt they were all feeling deep inside was something very new to the boys.
