canon divergence stark family. they all lived, they're all happy, no one hates no one (not saying WHO *cough* catelyn *cough*) and it's the year 305 AC (seven years later) so there's two more kids.
so:
robb, aged 21, bran aged 15 and rickon aged 10 (he's a large bulky kid)
jon snow, aged 21
sansa aged 18 and arya aged 16 (she had a growth spurt at 14)
edwyn, oc, aged 5/6. he's a twin
harwyn, oc, aged 5/6. he's edwyn's twin
ned aged 42, catelyn aged 41. cat MIGHT be pregnant in this again
working on a “they all lived” stark artwork set 7 years later. jon is not part of the night’s watch. it’s actually lowkey set in a canon divergence fic i’m writing. ANYWAY. there’s two more starks and a third one on the way cause… cat really likes having lots of kids and having sex with her husband

thIS is harwyn, an oc. he’s 5/6 years old. he’s a very happy kid with auburn hair and blue eyes like his mother
this is edwyn, harwyn’s brooding twin. he has the stark looks and hair colour but his mother’s hair texture and freckles.
and these are ned and catelyn, aged 42 and 41 respectively

Day 14: Identities - Names

I think the thing that’s really striking about the got books as opposed to the show is the way Martin never shies away from how physically damaged everyone is left. In the show Tyrion gets a badass scar but in the books he looses half his nose, Briennes teeth are broken and a chunk of her face is literally bitten out. Theon looks like an old man, his body is completely wrecked -
But they’re still not beyond hope. Their stories don’t finish with the horrible things that happen to them, their scars and deformities, they go on, and it’s not pretty and tragic and romantic like a story
And that’s the whole point.
Every single book in the series makes a point about how violence and war is romanticised in literature and history and Martin makes his character a living testament to the reality of war, the ugliness, the trauma, and that depth is just another thing that got glossed over in the show where people stay pretty and everything that made the books special is watered down.
Let your characters be ugly. Let them get hurt. Let them be scarred, and watch them get up anyway.
Day 4: House Stark

I hate when people say Jon is the song of ice AND fire
FUCK NO. [please read until the end]
1. Jon is important, yes, but he's not the "song" of both ice and fire. Georgie Martini wouldn't put so much effort in Jon's character being so alike to Ned with his long face and dark hair, so unlike his ranga siblings yet just like Arya (who also is very Ned-Like). His character is about being a bastard yet in his actions, he will prove to be a true Stark at heart. He wants to live up to Ned's legacy, be treated as a true Stark, and being a secret Targaryen would undermine all of that. He is important, I love Jon, and I believe he will be the ice part of Ice and Fire.
2. Man, you lot are such fat Dany haters wtf. You KNOW him being both Ice and Fire would absolutely gut wrench and undermine my homegirl's entire character, everything that she does and all she stands for. Daenerys is the last true Dragonlord. She burns slavers and brings rampant change across entire regions like wildfire. She represents fire, and it's obvious she doesn't have anything to be ice. Johnny being Ice and Fire would mean she isn't as important as him (BS).
Both characters are so alike, with how they go to new regions early on, bring change, have the cutest pets ever, deal with different cultures, and have a great rise to power yet struggle with a consistent ruling. They're both Ice and Fire and without Fire, Danielle Targaryen would be reduced to just another Cersei, Sansa, or Davos (no offense to any of them, they're great but not centre stage).
3. There's no Targaryen reveal in the books yet. It's most likely going to be FAegon being revealed as Aegon, OR just FAegon being FAegon.

4. Jon's dead yall. Its been 13 years, girliepop. I know you have trouble with grief but he's gone. He isn't coming back. That's not him, man, that's the schizophrenic hallucination your mind made to deal with the traumatic loss.

favorite thing in asoiaf is that the stark family tree is just filled with haters in every generation. theon stark brandon snow alaric stark cregan stark even ned's brother brandon and lyanna too. even the current kids jon snow robb sansa and arya all have some kendrick lamar level of beef w at least one person. brandon the builder spawned an entire genre of haters
Bran stark is my baby. Litterly hate everyone that told me they didn't like him and that he was boring and whatever else. He's SEVEN. HE LOVES TO CLIMB, HE LOVES HIS MOM AND DAD AND THEY BOTH LOVE HIM SO MUCH, AND HE LOVES THE KINGSGAURD, AND HE WANT TO BE A KNIGHT. And now he can't.
