I've seen a lot of people upset with how the divorce between Viktor and Jayce was handled in S2, feeling that the scene felt fast and emotionless, but I think this is intentional. You aren't supposed to feel a sense of closure, you are supposed to feel as confused as Jayce does. Viktor is portrayed as dull, almost emotionless, a drastic change from the previous season, where he is one of the most expressive and emotional characters. I believe this is the show's way of showing Viktor came back wrong. Viktor tells Jayce that he doesn't feel the cold, implying that his ability to feel has changed. He leaves Jayce easily despite the show having shown that Jayce is one of the only people he truly cares about. It feels wrong. Viktor doesn't even show anger at Jayce for disregarding his wishes, S1 Viktor would have been furious. S1 Viktor would have been an absolute wreck, crying, maybe even screaming, but this Viktor isn't. He's emotionless, robotic. And I find that very tragic. In saving Viktor, Jayce has lost him. Jayce has unintentionally rendered Viktor incapable of feeling the affection that held them together.
