what on earth happened when annihilation was being adapted to a movie. the themes are all still there but the plot is completely jumbled around. kinda fitting in its own way

annihilation jeff vandermeer the southern reach trilogy LITERALLY it was my favourite movie for years and i finally read the book and. it's so different but the themes and vibes are very similar i'm glad they went that direction both versions are delicious in their own ways though i will say as someone who loves the movie some of that dialogue is so comically bad incapable of speaking like human beings. it's perfect southern reach
