Trixie transition timeline

I know trans Trixie is a popular hc and I wanted to add a little on it

In her first appearance in Boast Busters not only has Trixie a single reflection in her eyes (which is more common among stallions while mares usually have two), but her horn seemed noticeably bigger than the other unicorn mares. Also, can't forget that in this episode Trixie was initially supposed to be a stallion but was later changed to a mare.

In Trixie's second official appearance in "Magic Duel", she now has a regular horn like other unicorn mares (is horn reassignment surgery a thing? lol). Her eyes still have only a single reflection. Another interesting detail in this episode, Trixie stole Twilight's (fake) amulet as soon as she saw Twilight "turned a mare into a stallion".

Trixie's fourth official appearance in To Where and Back Again (season 6), it's the first time she's shown with two reflections in her eyes and it remains like this for the rest of the series. It doesn't seem to be a change made for her reappearance in season 6 as in her third official appearance in No Second Prances (season 6), she still only had one reflection. (I guess magical HRT made her grow a second reflection during the season xD)

EDIT: I haven't noticed but the single shiny isn't the only thing most stallions have in common, the colour in their eyes is also gradient, unlike most mares. Even after Trixie gained a second shiny (similar to most mares), her eyes remained gradient, like most stallions. You can see a good comparison here between Starlight having typical mare eyes and Trixie:

It was probably not intentional but it's still interesting to see how Trixie physically changed in the series and how it could fit with her being possibly trans.

Personally, I like to headcanon E-Boy’s name as ‘Evan “E-boy” McF*ckboy’. He’s like 20, he works at a café, and he sometimes makes TikToks in the bathroom.

Also I’ve finally figured out the headshapes for the characters!!

The shape on the left (with the giant chiseled chin) is mainly for the older characters. Ex: ages 25 and older.

The shape on the right (with the simple flat chin) is mainly for the younger characters. Ex: ages 18 through 24.

I feel bad for kinda derailing your "trans in Yurgenschmidt" post with my knee-jerk reaction, so I want to actually talk about it! Ignoring the transphobic possibilities, looking at some of the canon information means that it could actually be cool!

In a fanbook, Kazuki-sensei clarified that gay relationships aren't discriminated against, it's just that gay marriage isn't a thing because in Yurgenschmidt, marriage is a purely political and child-focused thing. So theoretically, as long as the union could produce a child and be beneficial to the families involved, it should be allowed. It would just mean that all straight marriages with trans people would need to be T4T (honestly pretty awesome). It also technically unlocks certain gay marriages.

Also considering that there are rituals to bring about spring and whatnot, I think Flutrane and her subordinates could definitely have a ritual to trans your gender 🤔

I think potions made using ingredients that align with water could definitely be out there to help with it. If being trans needs to be kept in secrecy, they could do some identity laundering and undergo adoption with a close member of the family/fake a childhood death and later be re-added to the family as an "adopted" child. Though it would be cool if trans people could just exist openly, taking potions and praying to the Gods. If Flutrane was so gracious as to help her trans children, it could even mark trans people as favored in a way. Though given everyone's reactions to a later event, those kinds of blessings probably aren't given commonly. Could chalk that up to nobody praying anymore though, if we wanna have generous headcanons...

Drewanchel and Dunkelfelger are probably the two duchies (that we know of) that would be the most accepting to trans people. ("Woah.... We should research how you were able to do this!" And "Woah.... Can we play Ditter now?")

I wonder how trans people are treated in Yurgenschmidt's noble society sometimes. The core identity of being a noble is having a lot of mana, so there's a bit of me that hopes and prays that they wouldn't care as long as they kept doing their job. Maybe Flutrane would help the trans mortals who prayed to her, embracing change and healing. Though on the other hand, Noble society is so ruthlessly conservative and status-based that I fear for those who don't have the protection of someone with actual power. Worst case scenario, the Temple is always an option I guess...

Canon trans Leo? More likely than you think

I'm going to preface this by saying this is all for fun. I don't really care one way or another :P

A little turtle biology

The thing is, traits that are unique to telling apart sexes of red eared sliders just aren't in his design. The longer claws in males, something that only red eared sliders have differentiated in sex, isn't there. Other things, like bigger size in females and longer tails in males, just aren’t there. So that leaves us with plastron shape.

Male red eared sliders have a concave plastron. There is a slight indent around their lower abdomen. Females lack this and have a flat or convex plastron.

Leo’s design

There are scenes where it tends to be obvious what his plastron shape is. Following the lines, it’s concave to his body, matching the plastron shape of a female red eared slider. And boom, there you have it transmasc Leo is canon, everyone can go home now. This is very consistent throughout the show and there is nothing that ever could affect this argument.

Or is there?

There are also scenes where his plastron is shown parallel, which doesn’t disprove the previous statement. So, why mention this at all if my point still stands. Because it brings up the question, ‘How consistent is his plaster shape throughout the show?’

Stand up straight king, your crown is falling

It’s hard to tell whether the midline is indicative of his actual plastron shape, follows the line of action, or if it follows the taper line. While there is some consistency, due to his shell and dynamic posing, leo never really is standing straight up. And there is a lot of change in the plaster’s placement due to movement and how the show is animated. While this makes the show very fluid, it makes it difficult to accurately determine the plastron shape.

There are also plenty of scenes where his plastron appears convex, but this also means nothing because his shell doesn't tuck back in. With male turtles, their plastron is concave because of the dent, but, for increased movement, leo’s plastron isn't shown to tuck back in, therefore not causing a dent.

And that leaves one answer: You just cant tell. 

Getting rid of almost all sex determining factors of red eared sliders, in addition to having inconsistent plastron shape because animation is cool like that, you can’t determine Leo’s sex based off of his characteristics. That’s it. Everything has failed. My hours of research come to no avail.

Future!Leo

Why even mention him at all, theres nothing left to even prove. There are no mare sex based traits to apply. AND NEVER MIND BECAUSE THOSE ARE ONLY THE DIFFERENCES IN NON-ADULT TURTLES. This point relies on Future!Leo's design, sooo movie ref time :]

In his future design, he is significantly older and you can properly decern his sex by his basic design concepts. As male red eared sliders get older, their colours will start to fade and will grow darker in colour (melanin distribution). Females don't go through that colour change. In Future!Leo's design, while his colour is less saturated, he doesn't grow darker in colour and stays his original lighter green. Now could it be from a recognition standpoint? As long as his stripes are there, his design could grow darker and he would still be recognisable. While male red eared sliders can lose their stripes, it doesn't always happen. The markings could stay, and he would still be a male turtle. So recognition isn’t a viable factor. Trans Leo is back, baby.

Where does this actually get us?

Future!Leo isn't the same as Rise!Leo because he's from a different timeline. Well, Future!Leo is trans. Honestly, the rest you can take with a grain of salt lol. In all seriousness, in Future!Leo's timeline, they were very similar as teens. In addition to what I've said already about Rise!Leo, there is a chance that he could grow up the same as Future!Leo. Other than that, this is just a fun little essay about a hc that could be real.

TL,DR: Future!Leo is trans and Rise!Leo might be too

Ninjago Dragosn rising spoilers!

I’ve stated I love this season, I enjoyed it a lot. It was fun, humorous, and filled with interesting characters! The main charters Arin and Sora are really great I feel like they did a good job establishing them as characters and can’t wait to see more.

Lloyd was great! He’s one of my favorite characters and seeing him serve as a mentor was fun. I love that he got some source dragon powers, and I’m super excited for more world-building.

I love Arin. He’s hopeful, energetic, and determined, he’s interesting to watch and has a lot of potential to grow. I love how he learned spinjitsu and hope he isn’t revealed to be an elemental master. I would be ok with him becoming one via some external means but I really like the idea of this kid just learning spinjitsu through pure determination.

Sora was awesome. Also she feels trans coded with the whole changing her name and having to run from home. Her technological prowess is fun, and I’m really I trested to see more of her elemental power. Her backstory was interesting and she served as an interesting contrast to Arin in terms of how they expirenced the merger.

Kai and Nya. They weren’t there for long and while I do hope we eventually get a Kai focused arc I still found his interactions to be fun. Nya was awesome I was glad to see her and enjoyed that she has yet again found herself being a champion. I love RBG siblings and was happy that we had quite a few interactions between the trio.

The world-building was interesting and I’m hoping the merger means we’ll at least get to see Akita, and maybe some ghosts.

I enjoyed the story and am really curious to see what happens next!
