I don't know if it's a British thing, his using heart in the singular or if it's a wonderful way for Arthur Conan Doyle to emphasize the intimate closeness of Holmes and his Watson, but either way I love it 🩷🩷🩷

Sherlock showing up at Watson and Mary's unannounced at almost midnight, asking Watson if he can spend the night in the bachelor room (you know they stayed up together 😉), and inviting Watson to spend the next day with him, and Watson agreeing enthusiastically is so them 😂😂🥰

Reading Arthur Conan Doyle's original Sherlock Holmes stories in order is exactly like watching two people fall in love in real time.
