i feel like gregors roach traits could be read as allegories for PTSD/trauma. obviously the way he got them was a very traumatic experience, but i wanna focus on the war shit and the other genetically modified veterans we see. Like how he grows more buggy when he gets really stressed, and the more traumatized he gets the less physically human he becomes (because trauma dehumanizes you!!). and when he survives the war and tries to live a normalish life, the one thing that keeps it from happening is his cockroach arm. It won’t go away, even if he tries to cut it off, and it lashes out indiscriminately much to his scorn and resentment. like that scene in the subway where it attacks that woman seemed to be followed by mentions of the war and thoughts of it on greg’s part. I also think that the way gregor and all the other insectoid smoke war vets who turned to enkephalin (can’t say i blame them:( ) couldn’t get their lives back and were used and thrown away is like obvs a statement on how the govt/war machine/military industrial complex treats (disabled, but that’s another text post for another time) veterans. not to mention the fact that gregor explained they were operated on without their consent!! gregor and co are seen as disposable, disgusting insects who are less than human. i also think there’s something to be said about the fact that he’s a cockroach specifically. yes, they’re viewed as gross, disgusting pests but they’re also survivors. no matter how disgusting people think they are they don’t die in water and they can literally survive decapitation. also like the way trauma makes you feel so disgusting and tainted and like how your own mind and body don’t belong to you. he can’t look at him own arm/body without remembering that his own mother decided to surgically experiment on him… he consistently talks down on himself for being a roach human hybrid or whatever. he makes me so sad. the way other people treat him like he’s gross too like omfg it makes me sooo mad. he has endured so much dehumanization on so many different fronts :( i hope he has a good support system. anyways i like gregor hes a dilf cockroach milking

Okay, let me just clarify, this is my own personal opinion. I cannot express enough that this is how I, personally, as Jess, feel on this topic because of my exposure to it and instances in my own life. Completely personal. I’m not trying to make anyone else conform to my viewpoint. I’m just saying what I personally think about it.

So all that being said, I hate it more deeply than I will ever hate any other thing ever.

I don’t have problems with non-sexual age play! I completely respect sub-space and regression and understand how it makes a person feel safe (especially when they’re regressing to the age they experienced trauma and are using this as a coping mechanism)! I don’t have any problems with a caretaker/little dynamic that is purely about taking care of the little and making them feel safe while in headspace. I respect someone’s right to regress and get away for a minute into a safer space and wanting someone there to protect them and give them the opportunity to feel small. A lot of the times, people can’t even really control that headspace.

However, I believe firmly that sexual age-play is disgusting and should in no world be normalized. It’s a direct gateway to pedophilia and no one should be glamorizing the romanticization and sexualization of children in any way. I’ll go ahead and take this opportunity to link a post that describes what I think pretty perfectly. A little is literally unable to consent to sexual acts because of the nature of their headspace and a dom should in no way be sexually attracted to child-like behavior. I don’t blame the sub in this situation like I blame the dom. No person should be getting off to children or child-like behavior. I don’t care if it’s “two consenting adults” engaging in the activity. This kind of play inherently normalizes attraction to children and child-like behavior and if a dom is sexually attracted to their little exhibiting child-like behavior, they will condition themselves to develop that same attraction to real children. If a person is reading fiction and getting off to the idea of children being molested—or having sex with someone in real life who is acting like a child and associating their arousal with child-like tendencies—this will literally definitely lead them to actual consumption of real child pornography and inappropriate interactions with kids irl. This kink actively harms real children.

So those are my thoughts!! And nothing will change them.

how do y’all handle maxie’s motivations? specifically in the case of his oras version. i know they were going really hard for an Extreme Opposites thing with him and archie in oras but the “doesn’t care at all about pokemon” vibe rubs me the wrong way, especially when his rse version referred to the land as the cradle of life for both humans and pokemon

hey! i definitely agree having a crush on another person outside of the system is definitely difficult sometimes, especially due to opposing opinions. however, it's super important to note that not all alters will have to be in a romantic relationship with the person aforementioned! while it's quite complicated and things definitely have to be worked out with the other people or person, it is totally possible depending on their preferences. of course, other alters may not have the same affection towards this person or people as others may, and to that it gets complicated. depending on comforts, could be a polyamorous relationship, open relationship, or monogamous relationship- whatever is most comfortable for both groups overall. as for the person/people, they're the sweetest ever, lol! very supportive, accepting, open-minded, albeit a bit stubborn and competitive at times but we love them for that and honestly think its adorable! :D would genuinely fight whatever lord or god above is there for them and it's just asdiufhuihrh. rambly stupid stuff, i won't talk about it too much, but we appreciate them a ton!

Where I live, the plant-based milks (the ones that aren't ass) cost THREE TIMES as much as normal milks (and around twice as much as the lactose-free ones, but that's bound to change since the price of the lactose-free ones keeping rising so fast), so my stubborn ass decided to make it at home. More precisely, my stubborn ass decided that I waited enough for my mother, who loves just sitting on new kitchen gadgets and never uses them (procrastination really), and this morning I made a liter of rice milk.

I added the least amount of water my machine allowed (since my experience with store bought rice milk was that it was incredibly thin and just straight up water-like) so I ended up with this pretty thick consistency. I didn't add anything else in it yet, since I wanted to see the raw results and adjust accordingly. It ended up being the perfect texture to add to coffee (since coffee already has some water in it and if I mix it with my thick rice milk it ends up being a very smooth drink), little too much for cereal and stuff but that's fine. The main problem is that it needs to be sweeter, and I tested adding some honey to it in a mug, and oh boy that was very tasty!

After doing some rough calculations, it's gonna cost me ONE FIFTH of the store bought price, which is, like, dope as fuck???

Anyways, I have no conclusions to this one, but I may end up updating you on this journey lol

i know its easy to think about what the ideal arthurian tv show/film would look like but for me in terms of paper media i actually think a comic series would work best to capture the meta storytelling themes that are almost required for modern arthuriana. im thinking, like– there’s a bit in Young Avengers Vol. 2 where the villain grabs the narrator’s speech bubble off the page and eats it. there’s another moment where a character hops into the space between comic panels, and another where someone rifles through different versions of themselves and picks the one they want to be. and its all visually represented using the conventions of the comic genre, twisted them and warping them and turning them on their head. loki: agent of asgard does this as well and also sandman overture– i think all these stories that have to do with perception and reputation and living traditions as meta work really well in a medium that is, in my mind, perhaps one of the most fluid and versatile storytelling venues in existence. also i think gawain should be able to read the narration boxes and lancelot should be able to travel between panels and guinevere should be able to rewrite other characters dialogue

DCxDP - Death and Taxes

Broke college student but also the Ghost King Danny looking at the stack of complaint forms in his inbox about people cheating death. In a stroke of sleep deprived inspiration, he issues a royal decree that anyone who has properly died before (I.e biologically dead, not just clinically dead) is still a citizen of the Infinite Realms, even if they were resurrected. And have to pay income tax to the Crown.

He establishes the Infinite Realms Revenue Service, recruits the ghosts of some meticulous accountants and sends them after all the assholes who think they can escape Death and Taxes. Starting with the worst offenders (ie those who have escaped death the longest/most often). Your tax bracket scales with how many times you died.

Just picture Ra's al-Ghul, in the middle of giving some speech to his assassin cult when this Phil Coulson looking ghost dude shows up behind him to "discuss the back taxes he owes to the Crown".

Every magic user worth their salt is suddenly swamped with messages from panicked villains and heroes who are trying to figure out wtf is going on and how to get out of this. Constantine is sweating bullets.

Danny hires Valerie to do mortal side "casework", because a, she's just as saddled with student debt as he is b, has worked fast food and knows how to handle asshole customers c, doesn't take shit from anybody.

Imagine Vandal Savage, Felix Faust and Red Hood awkwardly sitting in a waiting room with a stack of documents each, ready for their number to be called so they can dispute their claims. Being called in and utterly flummoxed at the unflappable, bored young woman at the desk who somehow has files on everything about you - birth record, death record(s), who you killed and when records... now declare your income as a crime lord/dictator/sorcerer, sir.

Meanwhile Danny is planning on how he can allocate the taxes to open a soup kitchen for Lunch Lady to work at and similar shit. He is determined to be a good king, dammit!
